Dance to my own tune
By light of many a moon
As the old ones croon.

Writing poetry
Emotions flow through my pen,
form a gentle pool
Heart and mind's thoughts translated
The pen a god given tool.

He asks for my hand
I tell him that I need it
He is not amused

My mirror image
Ready for the red carpet?
Truth glares back at me.

Humor, dry and parched
Hydrate with a twist of wit
Stir in the laughs

My mind is cluttered
Second hand, hand me down thoughts,
sold at a yard sale.

Pretty mosaic
Each piece represents a dream
Future's bright picture

The darkness is split
The glow of my cigarette,
casts an eerie light.

A drink in one hand,
cigarette in the other
Laughter on the way.

Life on the outskirts
The rat race and the mundane,
are the thoroughfares

Several years ago
Maybe twenty I don't know
Future was ******* in a bow.
But those plans fell through
The way they sometimes do
My path was overgrown with weeds
Couldn't follow all my leads
But that was then , this is now
I think I've found out how,
to get through another day
even when clouds get in the way.
It is friends that cleat my path
It's the truth I've done the math
Their kindness is all I need
To thrive with a newly planted seed.

People who take lives
Life's gift reduced to the price
of the box it came in.

My heart's door unlocked
You kicked it in anyway
You had the key.

Online dating sites
Great for finding long term love
If not, sleep around

I speak gibberish
It is my second language
Nonsense is my first

Kittens in a box
When one spits the others spit
A chain reaction

J bottle things up
Until I can breathe no more
Then the cork is blown.

Courtesy I've found
Is more than please and thank you
It's about respect.

There once was a man from Greece
Whose flock of sheep he did fleece
The wool he sold
The sheep were cold
Their sweaters knitted by his niece

**** them with kindness
When they treating you like s**t
What a load of crap

Hearts, made for breaking
Toys are made of emotions
Oh, how we love to play

Dissecting one's mind
So frightened by what you find
Thoughts of you in kind.

It's star light, star bright
First star I see tonight dims
So much for the rhyme

I'm still stranded here
You left me on this island
You in the distance

Kindness, like a can
Return and recycle it
Good for the planet.

Imagination
What realm can be created
Possibilities
A dark world with kings and queens
Dragons, medieval dungeons

Let them sing their songs ,
about how great life can be
I can only sigh.

What lies before us
Roads twisting at every turn
All GPS down

I was gonna write,
all about my speechlessness
Couldn't find the words.

I could write something,
about misunderstanding
You wouldn't get it

So much division,
in this world that we call home
Neighbors all are we.

In a tug of war,
between confidence and doubt
Both disqualified.

These visions of you,
have become my safe haven
A vacation home.

Hard to understand,
how anyone could love me
Just seems so far fetched

One pig says to the other. "Hey Phil, have you seen Bart's wife lately? She lost a ton of weight and looks awful. Think she still has her hooves done though." Phil says," Yes, but I don't like all your mudslinging
Elroy, it's really none of your business." Elroy says, " Hey I'm just giving you the skinny on things. And by the way , man your place is a sty!"

I overthink things
Both a blessing and a curse
Depends on the day.

Roses they are red
Violets pretty and blue
Why did I start this poem
Hell,  I haven't got a clue

Loves not a gadget
Or a novelty item
It is tried and true.

Please make up your mind
You have many to choose from
Don't settle for me
I'm not a charity case
I'm just choice a,b or c

Your voice, haunting
A dark forest in the night,
rooted in legend.

I'm indifferent
I can't say that I hate you
I will just think it.

Jealousy's a beast
It's eyes bright green and piercing
Lips curled and sneering.

People can be fake
When you spend your smiles on me,
they're not counterfeit.

Since you've loved me
Mourning Dove has left my sill.
The Lark takes his place.

My thoughts have waged war
and they take no prisoners.
Will be no detente.

Take me to "somewhere".
Heard it's the in place to be.
I've seen the billboards.

The edge calls to me
No apologies from life
It is merciless.

When love turned spiteful
When questions had no answers
and we fell to earth.

People amaze me
Too many loaded questions
Pointed at my head
