 Feb 9 Gerry Sykes
Maria
I’m cold… You think I’m really fluey?
I’m not for sure… Maybe you’re right.
The weather’s nasty by mischance for now.
And I’m not wearing my cozy woolly scarf.

This February snows a lot and rages.
I’d like to wrap in plaid and not to leave.
I know it’s blues. I know for certain, sweetheart.
You shouldn’t get a feel for me. I’m peeve.

The spring will come. There will be a revival
Of new ideas, follies and delight.
And I will rise, I will return, my dear,
Better than previous. I will be vitalized!
It's about that time
when the mind  wanders

starts to play
and walks the tight wire

between
liquid and solid

dream
and reality
An abstract word painting that was inspired by watching an interview with Steven Wright.
Here and now,
This minute in time
This second
I feel the cool air on my face
Blowing gently
I hear the wind
I feel the wind
And the damp atmosphere
Which surrounds me

Here now
This minute in time
I see the sky of grey
It’s a miserable day
The rain now spitting at me
As if to say
Go away

Here and now
Going home
To dryer climes
In front of a warm fire
Drinking coffee with cream
And a slice of strawberry cheesecake
What a dream
Here and now!
Don't argue with life-
its mind is made up already
even if you were the smartest
it will claim victory-

follow the gentle Tao
the Way to attain tranquillity
in non-action, non-struggling
non-interfering-- you will set free of misery
You sanitise
your body
but neglect
the mind-
what use
at all
will you find?
West:  Charge ahead!

Zen:   Stay with the moment
