The power went off
The street was dark and quiet
One single star shines.

BEAUTY in SURRENDER
Shaking out tensions , I exhale ,Drifting now with shuttered eyes, In mere seconds appears my prize    Her beauty postures a Truth  unmatched , she reaches out from the peaceful vision in my mind
A gentle touch, indelibly attached In reality and in dream , My soul now joyous in a forever bond captured by her Love Supreme.

"Death, be not proud"
Your turn will come
Your sting is gone
Our King has come

And with His heel
Crushing your head
It won't be long
'Til death is dead

I am
chicken
hearted.
I can't
risk rides
in fast cars
or jump on
swift moving
carousels
...or love
but
each time
I see you
I get more
courageous.

If we are obedient
we will be broken.

When I submit to my calling
as a human being,
if I am true to the ambition
of the puffy spear-shaped cloud,
to the voice of the smooth rock
formed as a heart,
I will stop
stay still
let their messages
sink through the borders of my brain
saturate the surging energy
within.

I will allow myself to be pierced
by her fears of being evicted
I’ll feel the angst about her futility
before the indifferent landlords.

I will ignore my own heartache
about Uncle Jan’s fanatical raging
and instead
ask him about his son’s cancer
hug him when he breaks down sobbing.

Obedience
to the highest measures of my humanity
has its costs…

and rewards.

Why does our soul crave someone else when we're so complete in ourselves.

I saw death before. It isn’t still. It’s intense.

So yesterday when my stomach built itself into a sinking ship,

And my fingers were colonized by earthquakes,

I realized what you meant by “love hurts”.

My strong sea, my sweet spring,

I now know the ashy taste of your kisses, The salty reek of your definitions,

You read love poems just to read their ends.

Smiling for the screen,
my disguise held tight.
Hiding cracks
beneath the light.
Inside, I break,
worn and bare.
A fragile truth
too hard to share.
Drowned in the tide
of distant stares,
A sea of strangers,
unaware.
The real me crumbles
beneath the weight,
A soul adrift,
Resigned to fate.
