My first love
Yonah Jeong Jan 29
My neighborhood
At the bottom of the mountain
An old house
A house that was falling down
Without a gate
An old tree next to it
No sibling
She lived in a house without them
She sang well
Red books well
Spoke well
the old tree alone
Covered the yard and the roof
The house shivered in the cold
I hid behind and just looked at the small
small very small door
where the swaying lantern light leaked out
Every time I heard the rustling sound
Tears fell
And then spring came again
A few months had passed since I saw her
Rumors spread
Proud Mary
dropped out of school
couldn't go to the hospital
couldn't leave the house
and from that night
I couldn't hear koff koff sound
any longer.

From a distance
tree branches tremble

Today, in front of the park
like a Chicago street
frozen pedestrians
passing by
like oil drops
falling on hot water

In front of a glass window

On an old wooden table

A woman in a black teacup

Looks up

While stirring

The "not too strong fragrance"

pick up the struggling woman and
embrace her

And drink the reduced "not too hot" coffee

The woman comes inside
with the coffee
and
stops time
and
flows like blood
Inside out.......

That warm wind
That warm tree branches
That warm wooden steps
That warm grass leaves
That warm shadows
That warm home scenes
That warm stick pencils
And
If you write poetry
with a red pen on a cold table
In the blank sheet of paper
What luxury on earth would i envy?

There is nothing else!

something special
love made you
everyone has a choice
everyone is unique
laughter, tears, even anger
similar but
not the same
aren't you like us, the stars
rainbows, flowers, birds. streams & cobblestones
They're similar but
not the same
Same with parents and siblings
look at you!
am I right?
love made us that way
is making us this way
So we share, shake hands, hug
each other
with love alone
Always. Throughout time...
Yonah Jeong May 21
From here, where there is no one
To the end of that tunnel
You and I, who will be missed
Will we walk together, our heads together
In this light
Shall we walk together, silently
Shall we walk backwards
Shall we whisper together
Silence
Towards a future that will not come
Under the faint, dusty light
With our shoulders affectionately touching
To the end of that tunnel
Will the two of us
Will you and I, who will be missed
Will we walk together
In this light
Taking a step back.

Noon sunshine
Deep Night Moonlight
All Perfect Dark Friends
Listening to the Stars Sing
Standing trees in the forest
Pebbles in the stream
Frozen blades of grass in the field

Ears of rice bowing their heads
Under the eaves
Silence in a beehive
like these
Miracle comes as miracles
(sneakily)
and give birth to the ordinary.

No matter how much I look for it
I can't find that poetry book...

I'm sure I've seen it

But no matter how hard I search it

When I sit quietly and think about it

It's quietly hidden in the depths of my heart

It's a bigger regret than not finding the poetry book

What is it?
Where is it?

Someone said
Christmas has become a holiday

Someone said we no longer
love thy neighbor anymore

But at this moment
Christmas in the neighborhood
There is no holiday of love

Only, power
political power without movement
with no power movement
to maintain political power
It is just a matter of pouring money
into Giant manhole .

No more thinking
or speak anymore
About love and neighbor.

Your Hammer
Yonah Jeong Mar 28
Walls of division and anger
hammer sleeping in the basement
so it doesn't rust
Like a duck's ***
May your poem words
waddling around
and walk
let there be
a hammer breaks down a house
but only tear down the walls
and not break the home of house
Sing a song of the crumbling walls
and I hope your party song
to spread far and wide
let us see a new world beyond the walls
following the song
As a duck finds a worm
in the grass and eats them
hatred between people
eat them so be strong
and tear down your walls
It's your hammer, your immunity.

About Rejection
Yonah Jeong Jul 21
Rejection
an invisible foundation
an inevitable process

It is the
foundation on which the building
of life is built
shaken by storms but
not crumbling

It is also the rejection
of the world that creates new paths

The gift of rejection
driver's seat belt

When you persevere and persevere
and persevere
it becomes a safer love

Rejection ends (someday).

From the morning Kitchen
Yonah Jeong Oct 2024
Wood-colored wallpaper all around
On the old table and floor
Pale morning shadows move
Stains or
oil droplets on the water
dancing cheerfully
In the square chests of drawers
coins sing while bumping
and dance
this is how start the day
In the kitchen, little Samuel
clapping and laughing with mom
with rice paste glued to cheeks
with his hands spread wide
where finds daily bread,
In the kitchen
love overflows like a zipper
riding the train rails
to a safe emergency exit
where language of secret air runs wild
one fall morning in the kitchen
where all beings undress and re-dress
where the feeling of blessing
begins to knead the day
and even silence turns into gold,
our kitchen on the way to winter
that makes the future decorated
my Mother  laborious Hug
Stay here Forever.

very small
a bud of persistence hanging in thin air

and winter came
without a chance to see the leaves and flowers
began to wither
pulled down the blinds and curtains
forgot about it
and welcomed the new year
spring passed
summer, one day
passed by the fence
on the mosquito net
bright and clear green
power of purification was seen
bowing in the air
friendship of coexistence
stuck to the cold glass window
with a soft tape
poor and broad-minded
I see your
