My poetry’s dark,
Though the release from writing
Can lighten my soul.

The moon is rising
Full and bright
Hanging,huge
She sheds her light

Climbing,slowly
O'er the hill
Lazy,creeping
The night's so still

Spangled starlight
Welcomes her
As she takes her place
And begins to stir

Hearts in love

Hearts in love
Who look at her

And she smiles her smile
That only lovers know.

Whirling as the wind
Soothing as the breeze
Cold as ice
Tense all the time
Chills all over her skin
A little warmth is what she needs
Another drop from the sky
And blankets are all over her skin

we change for the people that we love,

even the unannounced, up above,

to carry spirits at heart,

in a burden weighed more than dirt.

to be loved after loss,

neither blessing nor curse,

only achieved through years of work.

i'm abandoned but competent,

uncontent in my trying,

and unfulfilled.

believe in my hands,

but never my ways,

carried on cardboard,

broken in concrete.

When you fall in love with a poet
Time tells no one sleep
Lights fade in your eyes but lips brace at all times
For their affection is like water to plant seed
Lyre to bring relief & armor to shield mar fortified by a cord of three strands

You said, "I love what you wrote"
But they were more than words

They were my apart of my soul made visible
A corner of my mind made accessible

So I heard, "I love your soul"
And my heart felt full
