The flowers tickle your ankles and feet,
An unknown field greets your gaze--
yet, no worries. No worries or pain.
Although a voice is calling out from somewhere...

My poetry
flows a certain way

I sculpture words
from the finest clay

The verses you hear
are thoughts we play

These lines I write
leads my pen astray

The tone I use
shows the darkest day

Behind each meaning
gives beauty they say

winding winds weave patterns in my chest
a soft flower like a cloud up my throat
ehem ehem
a clicking swallow: a pinecone slides down
hitting a trembling trampoline stomach, and bouncing
like marble about

a cotton sparrow pecking somewhere everywhere
with its little blue beak of bead
ehem ehem
eye meets eye and eye eye
and winds bloom by, stirring the sky and
low bronze brooding grass, as
leaf leaf leaf laces down, down glittering slow
stumbling midair, stumbling in rays sneaking in through brown
stumbling like lost bee in a pathway of gold

then settling down light as a kiss, as a
curling of lashes on the parapet of eye

I had some tickling words—

velvet quilt round a tongue of damp wood
a tick of skin and tendon and beat
as all the gears in me lock in place
open the mechanical gates and out
the stuttering sparrow, small
with its wobbly chirp that, practiced, perfected,
spills still plaintive in the silence of stone

‘do you have an— an a scale?’

‘thanks—’

the crescent brown that rests in his blue eyes,
holds a special kind of light;
This knowledge he holds,
from the struggles he has overcome,
he sees all the darkness the light has to offer,
The possibility that love can cut you open,
yet sees the good every time
those blue eyes have a darkness, specks,
you can hardly notice
only if you are able to look close enough;
The brown around your iris,
I will always admire,
Always and forever proud to call you mine

even as the last crumbs fall
i know they'll not lead a mouse to the truth
nor lay a path for one's escape

one cannot blame hell on a devil that does not exist
or pray to an angel whose arrows always miss
love is neither a burden nor a gift

love just is

~
A love that never got true,
A fear that never goes false.
I just extend in his existence,
Raised simply calms with aftercalls.

There's an easy way to get a fraction of the price of what I want, but I guess it needs to be known that other people are paying attention to the fact?

I stare at a hummingbird
perched on a flowered tree.
the old year is bowing out soon,
while holiday tunes are still dancing
upon late December winds...but,

this hovering hummingbird i am
watching, hungry and thirsty...
they can flap their wings, or fly
backwards...they do what they
need to do, they try their best.
but humans can do more...for
themselves...for their fellow
humans.

i should be getting ready, yet,
the mind remains distracted,
conflicted over scenarios of,
hunger, thirst and shelter for
those in typhoon-devastated
areas...those hardly affected by
the pandemic...those who have
none, especially these holidays,
they suffer the hardest...they
suffer the longest.

knowing all these,
tonight's special late dinner
will not be an enjoyable one,
yet, i am filled with gratitude
for all blessings, not only the joy,
but the pain as well...how ever
unfathomable it may seem,
there is a good reason.

When you fall,
you learn to rise alone.

When you fall,
you learn to overcome alone.

When you fall,
you learn about yourself.

When you fall,
you learn about the people around
you.

When you fall,
you learn more lessons.
