I discover myself, tiny, bean-shaped on the tiled floor.
Raised to my knees the edge of the counter feels deadly.

Thank the gods, not this.

The mirror stares back at my shame with only wet redness.

I look at the offending object.
Well, that could have been worse.

I look to the ground.
Well, that could have been worse.

The effort required to hold back against the floor worries me.

I kept it cool. There is no mark.

I discover all of us.

We are as leaves floating in a puddle.
We rot.
We may become adhered to a shoe,
Or squished into the ground,
But we know we are rotting.
Love is a price we learn to keep.

“It only wants to be understood.”
The Curtains are open and closed at the same time.
Can you see it?
Will you see it?

When one door closes another opens.
The brighter it gets the closer you are.
Keep going, don’t stop, others will join us soon.

Follow the stars of the divine, it’s within the three that you will find.
The ones we carry inside, passing it on to others that seek it.
They’re waiting, right beneath
the music vine.

So ride the ride, as the waves may take us, and hold on tight.
It’s that fire we carry inside.

Follow the stars and soon you will see.
You’ll Find me waiting, within the three, and you will know that it is me.

All those secrets and memories forgotten long ago, they come back in pieces.
Be patient my love, we’re almost there.

Because the Curtains are open and closed at the same time.
Can you see it?
Will you see it?

Me
It came In waves.
Only when triggered.

I need to learn restraint.
Self-restraint.
Emotional restraint.
🩶
My sails are torn;
scratched and worn.
I’m impulsive.
My character is polarizing.
Calm or extreme.
There is no in between.
Love me, hate me, take your pick.
But I promise you.
I’m not one to forget.

The people we meet in life
always stay with us -
some as beautiful memories,
and
some as ugly scars.
3 a.m.

the dying town, dark moon,
the wolf lurks in a concrete tomb.

fallen friends and picnics at the graveyard,
empty stores and sidewalk ******.

streets of sorrow--
one-way roads to no tomorrow.

shadowed eyes, whispers in bars,
fallen angels, shooting stars.

sirens wail the ****** night,
and in every traffic light burned red
time never stops for the dead.

the ****** on the corner.
none to morn her fate,
a wink and a whisper,
"do you want to go on a date?"

the black butterfly,
soul of sorrow,
no echo, no refrain,
lost in silence, bound by pain.
