And the steam is gone,
Clean now — everything.
But the tub.
Dirt days and dirt of the day
Ring around the tub,
Stays, a conjunction,
And, but, Baby is gone with the water.

We notice the dirt, the after bath aftermath,
Or I notice the dirt, because it is just me,
And the steam is gone.
Draining is slow:
A clog of pocket watches;
Lovers’ tresses;
First communion necklaces;
And flecks of sparrows’ wings.

The sparrows know better,
Bathing in the sand, brake dust,
The gutter grit.
The irons,
Dirt-day rings around my ankles, a conjunction.
Too fettered to flap like the sparrow,
To shake-shiver filthy clean.
Monkeypox hype is in the air.

It's from the same family that causes smallpox.
That's what's hidden in the box.
You can avoid it by taking care.

Symptoms last for 2–4 weeks, and they'll flare.
Some times, for longer periods, it will be there.
It can be contagious and might put you on lock.
Don't worry, and be happy, folks.
Have a good immune system and breathe fresh air.

Sometimes saying goodbye to someone
doesn't nearly hurt as much
as saying goodbye to the version of you
that existed alongside them.

but i am a tree;
and despite it all,
my root will find a way
I'm not an 'ingénue' anymore - that’s been vitiated.
I'm not innocent, pure, naive or vulnerable -
which are technically, 'ingénue' requirements
(I don’t make the rules).

That being said, if no one has an objection,
in terms of narrative trajectory, I'd like to be
considered a 'fémme fatale' until further notice.

god could but desires not to answer
all who call out to him.

thus the human was invented:

an imperfect messenger

How do you know
      What you don’t know
 If you don’t know it?

Do you know what I mean?

How do you know
What you forgot
   If you forgot it?

Do you know what I mean?

How do you know?

( it’s A pet peeve
when I hear that phrase )

If I knew what you meant,
there would be no

extrapolating, an explanation!

Known for his business acumen
Now He stares off into space

Losing our memory happens
to us all as we get older.
We walk into a room and
forget why we entered.

We forget what we
were going to say.
Constantly losing things
that are right there
in front of us

I can’t even imagine
looking at my love of
40 years and don’t know
who that person is

Alzheimer’s or Dementia
is not only ******* the patient,
but it’s devastating
for the people around them.

It happens so gradual
people don’t notice.
Until it’s unrecognizable.

8-5-24 Joe Biden was speaking on his memory loss. He said He knows what He knows.
How do you know?
I wore my heart on my sleeve
For way too many years
And now she is tattered and torn

I still ball up the shreds
And hand them to men
In hopes she won't come back worse
Loving love is a curse
