Good grief
The sky
Oh my oh my
Is so grey today
Looks like it’s going to burst
And shoot golf ball hail stones
at our bones
Or least of all sleet
Or snow …. More neat
But there’s a glimmer of hope
As it sails on by
And now the sky is blue
But the wind
Cuts like a knife
Freezing cold
Minus 3 I’m told!

I’m fully a female
Voluptuous at that
With a 66 year old figure
Ok yes I ‘m fat
But do I care
As I’m happy with that
And despite all
I love handbags clothes and shoes
And shop in the mews
I like to look smart
And this is an art

Life is so fragile
Like a petal from a rose
Life is so precious
Like those we love and know

The sun is shining the whole of the year
In a beautiful garden
Here right here
It’s in my mind but it’s very clear

There’s pretty red roses
And colourful flowers so sweet
The colours are amazing
To the eyes they’re a treat

There’s a feeling of freedom
Peace quiet and calm
In my beautiful garden
And my place of calm!

Words can be powerful
And mean what they say
But words that are used
Can only be in great honesty

Thank you for the words
And what they’re bringing
Put the words together
And you’ll hear someone singing

But words from fiction
Can only just be
Not really meant
To you and to me

At the Christmas market
And on a stall
We met a beautiful lady
But sadly that’s not all

Her sadness overflowed
Affected by the war
Her family still over there
And Her distress she did share

We bought some things for the Christmas tree
We gave her a big hug and kiss
And said we would pray for her
And her family of whom she miss

So God please help her and all her family
Protect them as they go
Help all those poor people
Burdened with the war

Just words
In an etry way

It’s now morning but it’s more like night
The day is not even dawning
And that’s not quite right
The sky is filled with sleet and snow
Will it stick we just don’t know
But it’s cold and it’s damp
My bed and my blanket
Are inviting me to stay
But I can’t really spend just the whole day
Cuddled up in the warm
Perhaps a few hours until I’m in form
And ready to face leaving my dorm
To The cold damp and forlorn
Wintery weather on this week day morn!

The rain has gone to sleet
It’s coming down a treat
Adding to the snow
Very soggy now you know

It was slippery out the other day
But now it’s slutch and the kids can’t play
No more snowmen to be built
It may just freeze so get under your quilt

I just love writing poetry
It’s a great thing to do
Putting down words
Fantasy or truth
It’s just like a piece of art
It depicts a picture
From the beginning to the end
And the words will just lend
As to what it will send
And the reader will interpret
How they want to do

In a black velvet sky
To a welcoming eye

And the air is cool

The peace and the quiet
Is a simple delight
Welcoming the night
It’s a beautiful sight
Mankind can’t destroy
All of this joy
That is  all free
For all, for you and for me!

They say stress is under our control
But life’s ups and downs
Spin you round and round
Making you dizzy
Making it harder to play
So press the button
Tell it to stop
Sit right down
Before you drop
Think just for a minute
Of calmness and peace
Take five
Will help you survive
The stress
That makes the mess
Of your life
Stress now Be gone
Now that you’re free just carry on!

Freedom to roam
A house or a home

Warmth and love

Compromise and Meet half way
Hopefully you’ll see another day
Pray For those who go astray
Help Those who have misfortune
Listen To those who are low
guide those who don’t know which way to go
Feed those who are hungry
The list is endless
Just think what you can do
Help those in need

To make a better me and make a better you

In an anxious world
Stop and Try take a deep breath
as you count to ten
Block those anxious thoughts from your mind
Say the words calm, relax, and peace
Take time out and rest
Go somewhere quiet and somewhere safe
Get comfortable in a place
Take slow deep breathes and calm
Close your eyes and rest your arms
Look inside your eyes and see colours or just black velvety
This anxiety you will crack
Just don’t worry you’ll come back
Relax and rest it’s not a test
Take your imagination to a nice safe place
A beautiful beach with soft white sand and the sun shining through with a gentle breeze or a gorgeous garden where it’s always warm and sunny where you can smell the roses and the beautiful flowers where you can sit on a bench and relax for hours
Or a forest full of beautiful trees and the sunlight shining through
Whatever you want
You just do!
Visualise and take time to enjoy
Make this your safe place
When there’s trouble
You have to face
Do it with grace !
Get yourself to your safe place!

Hypnotise!

Early rise
On a dark dark day
Stars in the skies
But a sky so black and grey

A freezing morn
As breaks the dawn
As a new day is born
Ice on the lawn

Snow on its way
So they say
Tomorrow and today
And there it will lay

It’s so cold out there
Good to stay inside
You can smell the air
So go snug up and hide

The bees are buzzing
Honey have you heard
The grass is greener
On the other side

The birds visit
For their seed and fatfood
And there’s a squirrel
Who likes his coconut halves

The sky is red at night
This is shepherd’s delight
It’s peaceful and quiet
In the natural world!

I’d have pictures of Monet on my wall
A massive room where I can dance
I’d have it all!

Not forgot and not forelawn
And now its done!

We can’t go back

I’d like to skinny dip in a warm open sea
I’d do that  just for me
I’d like to sit in the snow
In a hot tub you know
I’d like to hug all the trees
In the sun lit forest oh please
I’d like to go where the sun shines
And soak it up with a glass of Sauternes wine
That would be divine
I’d like to go cold water swimming
I think it might be slimming
I’d like to dare and do something brave
I’d like to dance on the dance floor
Like never before
I’d just like to!

The clock is ticking
Soon the Omaze draw
Some lucky person
Will get the key to the door
It’s the one that we want
And we want it just more

Let’s hope we’re lucky

This morning I woke up early , I’m on it,
With a bee in my bonnet
Working through my washing pile
As it diminishes I have to smile
Dishes next, empty the dish washer
And put them away so much posher
The tumble dryer is wild by now
The clothes are even drying wow
I’ve cleaned the pots and pans
The sandwich maker, the air fryer and fans
The kitchen floor
And what’s more
It’s all clean
It won’t stay like that
It’s all there in my dreams!

I love poetry

Writing is just
Something I adore
A few lines
Maybe more
Can be less
But yes
Oh bless
Can be short
Could be tort
With rhythm and rhyme
No matter what
It’s just divine!
And all just self taught!

The words are a wonderful
When we positively pray
Say it Anytime
Night time or day
Say it in A poem, or  a line
We’ve just got to pray
Whatever we want or desire
You’ve just got to say
Prayers aren’t always answered
But maybe in another way
So don’t give up hope
There’s always another day!

Perfect peace
Don’t let it cease
Silence is golden
Only to beholden
Time to relax

Time to snooze
Without the *****!

The holly bush has a few red berries left
Where the robins visit from their nest
And enjoy the suet ***** and the dried up worms I’ve left

The squirrel has gone no where to be seen and has taken the coconut half
To feed his family I guess!

Oh yes but it’s quiet, peaceful and still in our winter garden!

Christmas is a happy happy time
Time to enjoy A tipple or two
mulled wine Will do
Turkey as a tradition Or a goose or a duck
Depends on  who’ll cook
Presents by the Christmas tree
For everyone you and me
Singing Christmas songs
Sat by the fire with roasted chestnuts in tongs
Thinking of all the good things gone by!

She never did tell
That all things weren’t well
She always looked good
Even in a coat with a hood
But behind those closed doors
Were lots of floors
It wasn’t how it seemed
Although she just beamed
And after a time
Out came the crime
Battered and beat
She just couldn’t eat
She Looked so thin
So we took her in
Where she felt safe
and away from harm
Fed her trifle
Kept her warm
Now she’s to face the storm
Bless her
I know she will win!

The cost
(Miles on the electric car)
I’m cold

It’s dark
I park
(Getting stressed)
I stop, I rest

Sat in the car
Not far
Near by
( so sat nav says)
Oh my days
But where’s
The place

I bang at a door
And ask
Great
They know
I go

And there
A beautiful place
I face
It sure was worth the wait !
