From the east where the sun has risen
Lies the hope lost along the way
Like a thief recently unbound from prison
Who said it will rain forever anyway?

There were sounds
Imminent from the roof
Haunting laughs
Throughout the window
Like she was being spooked
Maybe it was just an imagination
Of thoughts she couldn't keep out of her mind

She closed her eyes
For tears to never fail her
Still she was betrayed
Of how terrified she was

He held her so tightly
Kiss away those tears
Brushing her back up and down
And assured her of how safe she is
As she layed down on his chest
Until she fell asleep peacefully
In the hands of her knight in shining armor
