The moon sits

Eerie quiet
Envelopes me
As I walk this

On a prowling cat

My sister works

She helps others

Perfume permeates the air

Pasta con broccoli
Creamy homemade sauce
Garlic bread sticks
Red wine uncorked
Chocolates to melt
In your mouth
But then my thoughts
Wandered no more
I was in the diaper aisle

How the seasons
Affected your moods
Winter chill
Words biting
And cold
Icicles  of pain
Waiting for warmth
To drip drip away
The bitterness
Spring has sprung
Fresh words flowing
Words of rebirth
Summer fun
Warm words
Sunny words
Joyous words
Fall is here
Colorful words
Bittersweet words
Golden words
As seasons change
So do.our thoughts
Our words affected

Grasshoppers jumping
All around
Birds soaring overhead
Bikers saying
To the left
Lake is dancing
Speckled in diamonds
Leaves are falling
Joggers softly
Running past
Dogs strutting
And me thankful
To be alive

On.my morning walk
Spent more time tying my shoe
Then walking the path

Crowds gather around
If Jesus were here today
Would He wear a mask
Thick in a debate
What would His wording be like
How calm.would He stay

Sadness all around
When can happiness be found
Or can it be so

Woke up tired
From worrying
Heartbreaks of others
Wears youdown
Continued tired
From worrying
Malice words
Across the screen
Staying tired
Of sickness
All around
Can't change everything
So I guess I'll
Go to sleep
Or wake up
And help out

One for the road
Of sleepy time

No movement

In wheel chair

Dress up

Get trapped in

But what they
Have are guts

One armed bandits
Walkers with crutches
Deaf with hearing aids
Blind with a dog
Bald from cancer
Another melt down
Taking place
These heroes  don't
Give up
Even when pain
Is too hard to take
They are the champions
Fighting a battle

The drone of the
Mower
Drives me
The noisy repetition
Stings me
Can't stand another
Circle go round
Of cutting of
The grass
How I long
For peace
From the blaring
Noise

The clamor

With covid and all

Being held up at gunpoint

Walking in the morning
Today it was bleak
Dead grasshoppers and Squirrels
Not a lot of bird sounds
Except the loud cry
Of the crow
The lake didn't glisten
Or dance
Dead silence.
No one to hit me
With their bike
Panting dogs leading
Their owners
Not even the soft
Sound of footsteps
Jogging behind
Caught up in
The grey moment
Then a leaf
Fell from the tree

Drumming through my head
This pain won't go away
Just hopes it stops soon
