I grew up hidden.
it was easy-
no one really looked.
Mum cut my hair,
to be more like them-
and teachers
shamed my voice
into silence,
before I’d even found
my words.
Do you love me silent?
Like I do love you!
Do you miss me yet?
Like I do miss you!

Who'll gimme confidence?
Like you gave me!
Who'll make me smile?
Like you made me!

I still cry for you
but wouldn't show you
my fallen tears,
'Cause I adore you!

My heart has broken
into small pieces
but I won't let you know
about this! Because-
I couldn't forget you!
Don't be afraid of my poetry.
They are just products of my
mental lab given to you for
testing.
I wrap my arms around Earth and Sky
for I am a child of trees and seas
and even in their magnificence
I am comfortable and safe
knowing I am loved
for I drink clear water
it washes over me
cleanses me of stain and shame.
This cozy Cosmos yields food and light
grand canyons and stars at night
and keeps me warm
in the arms of awe.
