A starless night with a pale lonely moon—
I hope you’re seeing the same view.
Uncertain it is if we’ll meet again soon,
But I surely have missed your usual hue.

We were once strangers to one another
Until we dove in each other’s water.
It was when we learned more than names
That we have fanned the vibrant flames.

All the winters and autumns we’ve outgrown,
The burning cities that never turned to ashes,
And the handful of stars we used to own—
Are now nothing but the past’s slithering leeches.

Our memories have piled up to the skies;
Should I feed them to the butterflies?
They play on repeat inside my head
Like vultures orbiting around the dead.

Now that you’re from a hundred miles,
I’m starting to feel the need to pray.
I wish for nothing but your reassuring smiles
Because they are just enough for me to stay.

With this growing distance,
I wish I could hug you somehow.
Now tell me, this instance,
How can I forget about you now?
I hinted, she blushed
I rode waves inside
Is it just attention I seek
I lift and carry and know
Not the direction I go
I try to reconcile two outcomes
One cancelling another out
Is it ticker-tape in April
Avoiding The Fool
When does it belong, how do I mold it into belonging
irving

Io
you shifted constantly
your form became that of a million bodies
and so, from everyone I saw,
I felt you staring back at me

we locked eyes

(I find your pupils in the eye of a storm)
(swirling in clouds of every colour)
(I remember you from before)
(I remember you in my dreams)
((I see you standing on a cliff))
((your silhouette drowning in an ocean of grey))
(((It’s raining)))
(((The Ocean is alive,)))
((((it’s speaking to you,))))
(((((but I can only hear the crashing,)))))
((((((crashing of the waves))))))

you closed your eyes
I looked away
but still I wonder...
if you’d drift away
too...
a glimpse into the fortress of your eyes
the black door at the centre of the crater ridden moon
whose wrought iron frame hid a mind so beautiful
I didn’t know you hid a mind so beautiful
I didn’t know...
it’s okay, mistakes happen
struggling to form a single sentence
words are now hard to puzzle alone
battling to bring the thoughts to existence
doubting the skill of its own

but maybe your wings are just resting
storing energy for another flying
just hang in there and wait for your next soar
this is for the one who couldn't write anymore
But honestly, somedays, I'm having this thought that I was never or ever will be, a writer.

On the finest day we found our way,
Cutting a new path from bracken stricken pasts.
Everyone said we’d manage someday.
Anaesthesia for the antithetical. Allegorical.
Now waves we’ve never known before are
Swelling; Aloha & Aroha flow in a shared breath.

Ask me again at my last.
Nothing will have changed.
Declared at once, and always will be, yours.

Entering your mystery. Venturing through history.
Make this memory with me, ever after, our story.
Oath to you. Ode to us.
Tumultuousness fades to dust.
In you, there is eternal trust.
Open us up. We surrender. Innately intimate!
No beginning. Never ending. Innocently Infinite!
She transcends in all worlds any words I’ll write.
