Gorgeous souls vanished.
Amazing creatures were lost.
But light still replaces the glimmer that she lost.
Every new day brings hope.
The ocean still continues to wash away the dirt.
Fate gives us darkness as a gift.
Turning the ugly
into faith and power.
And soon humanity will find
sweet waters
to fill her.
A response to Tim’s poem

“We carry within us all the mystical power we need to transform our world.”

“All of the worlds problems can be solved in the garden.”

To the flawlessly
Flawed
And the perfectly
Imperfect
The sharply
Dull
The saddest
Happy
The complicated
Simpleton
The loudest
Quiet
We would be so lost
Finding you

Crow
do not hurry

let your shoes rest
one upside down
the other upright

beside the chair
where your toes
pushed them from your feet

your skirt and blouse
draped across the couch
as you dropped them
inattentively

leave them there
a little longer
reaching
one for the other
not quite touching

let your purse lay
undisturbed

fallen on its side
spilling your lipstick
and sunglasses
across the floor

stay

do not take the colors away
from the world
by your absence

not quite yet

please

give me a moment
to inhale you
one more time

close your eyes

and linger

Tuning letters like strings
the words are reformed
The rhyme and the meter
the rhythm reborn

Each vowel and each consonant
together in line
No commas or periods
to block or confine

The meaning inherent
and left unexplained
restated once over
a blinding refrain

To put in the file
the future in bold
the verses in couplets
—the reading on hold

The cloud breaks a little with a soft thud
A shower is anticipated, but the sun shines though
An effervescence flows through the river
As every bead of rain stirs the mammoth

A ice sheet piled on another melds into one
The vapors of meet the wide ether
Now the sun has turned crimson
A blizzard forms the weather

A touch of sun, a hope of a flower
Is enough to change everything
From a wintry, desolate stretch
To a island with hot, temperate hedges

I was lost in the snow-capped mountains
Now I'm
Found at the bottom of the sun

I was led astray by the snow storm
Now I'm
With you in a cave

I was near the end
Now I'm
Someone's friend instead

I was dying of the cold
Now I'm
Alive on the top
