I
Pamaga Jan 2021
I
If "I" were small, I'd be dotted,
If I were cream, I'd be clotted
If I were shrimps, I'd be potted
If I were a plane, I'd be spotted
If I were a graph, I'd be plotted
When "I" am with "U", I'm besotted!

I told
I was believed
They grieved
For loss of innocence
And more
A family torn apart
Yet secrets kept within.
A sense of shame –
Preserve the name
Avoid the public gaze –
As if it were a phase
That would one day be gone!
Not true: Damage had been done
Less physical than of the mind
Sensuality confined
“Damaged goods”
Not worthy of sale
Undeserving of love
Even when love’s there
Unable to share
Bereft of feelings
So cold
I told.

Fall haiku

A nascent chestnut
Fallen too soon from the tree
Autumn unconkered!
