May I share with you ?
This simple Haiku
30/10/18.

May I share with you?
This uplifting poetry
With me all my life.

From Memory my favourite poem by Rudyard Kipling. “IF”.

If you can keep your head when all about you Are loosing there’s and blaming you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you ,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about ,don’t deal in lies.
Or being hated ,don’t give way to hating ,
And yet don’t look too good ,nor talk too wise.

If you can dream ~and not make dreams your master ,
If you can think ~ and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to ,broken.
And stoop and build them up with worn out tools.

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch and toss,
And loose ,and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the will which says to them “Hold on “

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue
Or walk with kings~ nor loose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you ,
If all men count with you , but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds worth of distance run
Yours is the earth and everything that’s in it ,
And  -which is more- you’ll be a Man,my son !

Now my father and mother gave me a copy of this poem when I was about 10.
I have tried to tick all these boxes ever since.
It may seem a little old fashioned now as it was written about 110  years ago.
It’s always helped me.
I needed each and every virtue today.
,
A. Haiku and the most popular poem of the 20 th Century.

There but for the grace of God go I.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There but for the grace of God go I.
Having reached the age of six n seventy
Eagles of the sea have taught me to fly
Rich rewards await if you reach a land o plenty
Expectations under wraps but you have to try
By loving and giving the passport to nobility
Unless you keep a faith you’ll never know why
There but for the grace of God go I
Fortune favours t’ brave my Daddy w’ so wise.
On those winter nights he reads to my delight
Rubicon of literary giants was my prize.
The works o’ Rudyard Kipling kept a boy alive
Hidden hero’s mentoring a child with a desire
Every Sunday church attend all were s’advised
Granted there but for the grace of God go I
Running clear of all the gangs Im traumatised
Atheists n sinners ridiculed looking in my eyes
Call yourself a Christian ?Well we are amazed
Even with such provocative faith held for years
On life threatening occasions it never wavered
Faith holds the key as friends fail to survive
Gladly ,there but for the grace of God go I
Oh grant me that grace to be of your PA
Diligence and devotion t’ serve you all my days
God channeled me my words for love of man
Only wish to perpetuate the joy of poetry.
In an age.When fake news is everywhere .
It’s all a question of communication  Ref 020
An Acrostic:
A Poem by Philip written 1/10/2018.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s all a question of communication
Telepathic between two minds , a sixth sense.
Something my love and I could always achieve

And it goes without saying we still in a sense
Living as we did in a happy loving relationship
Like we where both upon the same wavelength

And our gestures to one another paralinguistic

Queensland brought out the best in our nature
In that we never became incommunicado
Even at night, the sun never set on our wrath
Smiling or frowning I understood her kinetics
Though we may talk for hours over coffee
It’s all a question of communication.
On a scale of one to ten , I award her a ten.
Never in my life have I loved a finer woman.

Of that fact , I have not a single doubt at all
From way back my telephonic calls to her

Could last for a good six hours or more
On my old faithful Blackberry I’d text each day
Making poetry so loving and enchanting
My guides and saintly Angels played a part
Understanding my determination to win my girl
Now glory be My Barbara said “She loved me”
It’s all a question of communication
Clearly our liaison was blessed by God.
And later we sanctified our wedding rings
That trip to London n The Cathedral of St Paul
It’s all a question of communication
Only now my darlings gone and I’m alone.
Never to be apart our minds in perfect tune.

Air conditioner.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Air conditioner
I made it possibly to live in relative comfort
Refreshing air by clever refrigeration cycles
Clever cycling of Freon gasses as compressed
Oh Mr Carrier you made it all so possible
Natural climates in the home and malls
Dynamically altered to a comfortable temp.
I am a poet n dispense without condition
To the world I give my poetry for free on.
In some places the Freon gas is taboo
Only my free poetry creates conditions
Never has so much poetry been released
Earth bound and channeled by Gods spirit
Relax now and read in the comfort of home.
I think I am the cat’s pyjamas
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think I am the cat’s pyjamas

Today and each and every day I’m told.
Halos hanging in my wardrobe tell me so
I think I am the cat’s pyjamas.
Not just an ordinary pair for an alley cat.
Know that I am a modest cat. It must be true

I think I am the cat’s pyjamas

And I will explain to you the clever things I do
My mummy cat try’s to curb my vanity

Though I think I am the cat’s pyjamas
Have you ever seen a cat writing poetry ?
Extra special pedigree cat’s can do this !

Can’t you see I am the cat’s pyjamas
And writing is my forte. It is my cloak.
Though I sleep every night with my beliefs
See I believe I am the cat’s pyjamas

Pyjamas of the finest Indonesia silk.
Yes in hues of pinks and vivid purple
Justification I am the cat’s pyjamas
And my modesty is known far and wide.
My goodness I am such a splendid Tom.
And to finalise know I am the cat’s pyjamas
See she told me last night so it must be true.!!
