She knew she was beautiful
Full of style

Her laughter
Put a smile on everyone's face

She had a dark side
She kept hidden
A dark past of
Brokenness and disgrace
Abuse
Hatred
Tears
She believed his lies
Those lies
Almost cost her her life

She fought to survive
The situation she was in
As he beat her time and again

Broken bones
Broken nose
Blood spilt in his rage
She fought through the hurt
She fought through the pain

A black Eye
A beaten in face
Tossed around like a ragdoll
She however
Stayed her pace

Jab after jab
Punch after punch
A kick here
A bite there

She finally fought her way to be free
However the damage was done
That all could see

She wears the scars as a badge
The bruises mark will heal in time
She does not look back with shame
She does not regret what she did
She fought to survive
She did not run
She did not hide

Life is a classroom
Sometimes the lesions
Are hard to take
She stands tall
She stands proud
After all she has gone through
To be the woman she is today

She still thinks she's beautiful
She is still full of grace
Despite the scares
That monster left on her face

He lurks in the shadows
Afraid to be seen

He is an outcast
To his classmates
And kids at school
He does not fit in
With the nerds
Or with those

He tries to rise above
They just shove him back down
Then the laughter starts
Sounding from all around

Hr cries silent tears
After a day of laughter and sneers
He chokes on each hateful word
Barely able to catch his breath
He has cried so much
It hurts his chest

He thinks about ******
Just killing them all
Being the one laughing
Watching them fall
He thinks about taking his on life
That would just be a waste
No one in this school
Would care enough
To show up at his wake

The pain
The hatred
Continues to take it's toll
He carries on
Knowing he is strong
Strong enough to handle their hate
Until the day they graduate
Then he can tell them all goodbye
Never having to see them again

Where did we go wrong
I thought we would last foever

We started out as childhood friends
That is how our love began
Growing stronger as the years went by

Then one day we said "I do"
Thus starting our wedded bliss.
Two kids
House
Great jobs
All seamed perfect
All seemed right

Until the day you said goodbye
You took the kids
Leaving me alone.

Now I drown myself in tears
Wishing you were still here

That someday we can be together

I have few friends
Mostly I stand alone
You're always surrounded by people

I have tried many times
To show you how I feel
I have poured out my heart and soul
You just laugh like it was all a joke

I wrote you poems
Confessing my love
You took those poems
You gave them to the wastebasket

And yet
After all that
I still wish to be with you
Call me a loser if you want

Going through this box in the attic
What did I find
An old rag doll
Lost away in time

This had once belonged to my sister
So many years ago
Cancer took her from us
How I miss her so

She was only ten
The doll by her side
My parents put it away
The pain of our loss
Was to much to hide

When I left home
This box came along
I forgot what was in it
However God knew all along

I placed it in the attic
Until I had time to go through it
To find out what was now mine

Now to see this doll
After all these years
The memories of my sister
Bringing me to tears

To place it back in the box
I shall not do
It's shall live upon my couch
In my living room

We fight
We struggle
Against those
Who try to shut us down
Who try to shut us up

We speak on
For our words
Bring hope to those who have last hope
Comfort those who are hurting
Heal the emotional scars
Of our nation

We fight
We struggle
For those in power know
How strong our words are
They know that we can cause them
Much damage
That we can encourage others
To join the fight
To overthrow those in high places
To turn the tide
Back to the common people

For those in power
Don't want to lose that power
And they will squash
Anyone who tries to stop them

I believe that there is life after death
Our bodies decay
But our souls live on

The Holy Spirit the song
Joins the beat and gives it
Movement and action
It drives the beat onward
So it does not stand still
Or fall on dead ears

Joins the other two

Power
Grace
The voice calls in the wild
It calls for all who will listen

This is the very core of existence
We exist only because
The beat, GOD
The song, The Holy Spirit
The voice, Jesus Christ
All live in perfect form and balance
Without this balance
All falls apart into a void
Full of darkness and chaos

Life is a maze
We go round and round
Everyday
Running into dead ends
At every turn
But
We must never give up
We must never give in

Things may seem impossible
At times
Like every turn
Is a false started

There is a way through the maze
A way to the other side
Just keep picking your steps
Carefully
Never give up
No matter how hard
Things seem

Before you know it
You will be through the maze

As death surrounds me
A bottomless pit of empty space
Emotionless void

In anguish and pain

To help them prepare for the future

Turf wars
Making the inner cities unsafe
