Words
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
Though page was blank
It is now filled with words
Words of passion
Words of joy
Words of sarrow
Words to enjoy

Though this page was blank
Through my pen
It is filled with the words of life
Words of pain
Words of congradulations
Words of sadness
Words from the insane

Though this page was blank
Life spilt out
In the drying ink

You are my friend
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
Your gentle touch
Let's me know I have a friend
Your gentle touch
Calms my fears

Life doesn't seem so bad
When I am holding your hand
The sky seems more blue
Darkness and trouble
Seemed to stay away
When I am with you

You let me know
I will never be alone
If ever I need someone
You are there

Through the good and the bad
Through the joy and the tears
Even at our worst
I know I can count on you

Born Country
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
The Sound of water running through the creek
Cows on the hillside grazing
Warm breeze through the treetops
Wild animals in the woods

I was born country
These things run through my blood
Like a mighty river
That can not be stopped

Fixing fence
Hauling hay
Cutting wood
Fishing in the pond

I was born country
It is forever a part of who I am

Family dinners
Catching Fireflies
Sitting out at night
Watching the starlight

I was born country
The spirit of nature
Is one with my soul
For it truly is
God's creation

Hay rides
BBQs
Fresh fruits and vegetables
From the garden

I was born country
Nothing like a job well done
Being with friends
Getting along

Dogs in the yard
Mom's cooking
Cat's in the barn
Kids playing in the yard

I was born country
It is who I am
The values passed down
Can not be taught
Only can be learned
Off the land

Gathering Walnuts
Camping out at night
Tire swings

I was born country
I always will be

Don’t Laugh At Me
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
Don’t laugh at me
I can’t help the way I was born
Don’t laugh at me
Or give me your scorn
You laugh at what you don’t understand
It wasn’t my deal
Life gave me these cards in my hand

Stop laughing
I am begging you please
Can’t you see you are hurting me
Maybe you can see and just don’t care
by my expense you get your might flair

Don’t you see, can’t you see
Just how much you’re hurting me
All these tears should make it clear
However you laugh while others stare

Your laugh and your jeers
Tear at my heart
Can’t you see I’m human too
How could you be so shrewd
You see me as a freak
Try a little harder and maybe you’ll see
You hurt one just like you
Same emotions
Same fears
So please stop your jeers

Don’t laugh at me
I plead one last time
However, seeing I’m not getting through
I guess there is just one thing to do
You speak your curses
You speak your jeers
I’ll just look on and pretend I did not hear.

Life's maze
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
Life is a maze
We go round and round
Everyday
Running into dead ends
At every turn
But
We must never give up
We must never give in

Things may seem impossible
At times
Like every turn
Is a false started

There is a way through the maze
A way to the other side
Just keep picking your steps
Carefully
Never give up
No matter how hard
Things seem

Before you know it
You will be through the maze

To my new girlfriend
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
Please don't judge me
By My past relationships
There are dead and gone
The only relationship that matters
Is the relationship I have with you

Please don't judge me
By My physical and emotional scares
Please help me grow
Please let me know
That this is a relationship of trust

I will give you my heart and soul
It may take a little time
First welcome must remove the walls
My past relationships have left behind

Catching butterfly
Tony Anderson Mar 2019
You see the butterfly
Upon the flower
You sneak up very very quietly
You cup your hands around it

You hold the butterfly
You marvel at it
You wonder about
What makes it fly

You hold its for a moment
Then release it back into the sky

You say you miss me to
Like it's some sort of game

A little piece of me dies
The longer we are apart
A part of me fades away

I know I'm scrawny

The Fighter
Tony Anderson Feb 2019
She knew she was beautiful
Full of style
Full of grace
Her laughter
Put a smile on everyone's face

She had a dark side
She kept hidden
A dark past of
Brokenness and disgrace
Abuse
Hatred
Tears
She believed his lies
Those lies
Almost cost her her life

She fought to survive
The situation she was in
As he beat her time and again

Broken bones
Broken nose
Blood spilt in his rage
She fought through the hurt
She fought through the pain

A black Eye
A beaten in face
Tossed around like a ragdoll
She however
Stayed her pace

Jab after jab
Punch after punch
A kick here
A bite there

She finally fought her way to be free
However the damage was done
That all could see

She wears the scars as a badge
The bruises mark will heal in time
She does not look back with shame
She does not regret what she did
She fought to survive
She did not run
She did not hide

Life is a classroom
Sometimes the lesions
Are hard to take
She stands tall
She stands proud
After all she has gone through
To be the woman she is today

She still thinks she's beautiful
She is still full of grace
Despite the scares
That monster left on her face

Punishment
Tony Anderson Feb 2019
Within the shadows he exists
Walking a lonely road
Covered with skulls and bones

He does not exist in this time
Of any
His sins have separated him from all
He is
Alone
Hurting
Being punished by his past

He cries
Not tears
Blood flows instead
Blood pours
Blood rains down

Crunch
Crunch
As he steps on another bone
Crunch
Crunch
As he steps on another skull

Demons torment him everyday
As he walks in great dismay
He can not run
He can not hide
They will find him
They will torment this poor soul

He is forever trapped
Between time
Between space
Nevermore to love
Nevermore to be loved
Forever to walk within the shadows
Forever to walk alone

The Outcast
Tony Anderson Feb 2019
He lurks in the shadows
Afraid to be seen
Afraid have being laughed at
Afraid of others being mean

He is an outcast
To his classmates
And kids at school
He does not fit in
With the nerds
Or with those
Who are cool
He tries to rise above
They just shove him back down
Then the laughter starts
Sounding from all around

Hr cries silent tears
After a day of laughter and sneers
He chokes on each hateful word
Barely able to catch his breath
He has cried so much
It hurts his chest

He thinks about ******
Just killing them all
Being the one laughing
Watching them fall
He thinks about taking his on life
That would just be a waste
No one in this school
Would care enough
To show up at his wake

The pain
The hatred
Continues to take it's toll
He carries on
Knowing he is strong
Strong enough to handle their hate
Until the day they graduate
Then he can tell them all goodbye
Never having to see them again

Lord I'm in a pit of dispare
But I know you are near
Though it is hard to  sence you mow

My life is a wreck
I need a mental check
And my emotions are and acid pool of slime

Bring back your light
Shine it through my blight
Guide me back to you

I am so lost
I am being tossed
Upon emotional waves of doom

I feel no one cares
Yet I know your love is the
Please help to see me Through

Bring back your light
Shine it through my blight
Guide me back to you

Help
Tony Anderson Feb 2019
Lord guide me
Step by step
Upon the road before me

When I stumble
When I fall
Give me the strength
To get back up
To move on

When my heart feels heavy
And the load I can't bear
Let me know you are with me
I don't have to carry it alone
You will share the weight

When I am tired
And my footsteps sway
Guide me back
Give me rest
Energize me for the rest of the way

Fishing
Tony Anderson Feb 2019
On the lake shore
Rod in my hand
Ready to catch that big one

I know that monster is in here
I've almost caught him before
But he always got away

Not this time
I have a plan

It may be crafty
It may be sneaky
But this time
I will prove I am there fisherman

I know he is hiding
Taking his time
Before the final confrontation
But if I am patient
If I stand firm
I will have him in the end

As I look out upon the sea
My eyes fill with tears for thee
Your ship left by the sunset glow
Sadly your ship never returned home

Lost forever
Upon the waves
Lost on and island somewhere
I may never know

My heart hurts with sadness
Just thinking of you
The good times
The joy of being together

Sadly those moments can be no more
I miss you
My love
My soul
