Darling I know the world can hurt sometimes

So cuddle up close and close your tired eyes

I can promise everything will be alright

I am  right here by your side

Together the world might be fine

Wish I could hear that instead of

Being alone all the time
Knocking on the door

Fragile knuckles on cold metal

Unable to find warmth

Lacking of any worth

Hidden in the crowd

Alone with everyone around

Someone else wears my crown

Wish I could say I was proud
Why do we bother, where is the win,
Can we ever be happy, is pleasure a sin.

I'm sorry, not sorry to strangers and kin,
My battle is fierce and always within.

Soon we are gone and eternity wins,
A scarecrow, a lion, a man made of tin.

My mom
Is music
watching Gilmore girls with takeout thai food
and comfort

My Dad
Is loudness
Uncontrollable anger
And reluctant love

My cat
Is laying in bed with me when I cry
Stealing my food
And making me laugh even when I don't want to

My friends
Are eating orange peels
Singing let it go as loud as we can at 2am
And walking at 11pm to Walgreens

My extended family
Is 13 hour plane rides
Friday night dinners
And having ice cream on the balcony
Maybe it doesn't make sense to you, but it makes perfect sense to me
Light peeping tunels of darkness
Flickers through timesapes and timeshares of our varied dreams
In ages we ebb to time and edge to death friendship stays to save.
The Medusa touch
Is the British
Rosemary's Baby
Only better

Because the world is round
the wind is high
And the sky is blue
I cry
Sometimes we cry just because
