Children, I know, crackers you love to burst.
But kindly a minute spare, n listen to me first.
Minutes few of fun, cause problems very big n grave.
People many, suffocated feel; n pollution we pave.

Frighten we, little babies n of course, dogs too.
In future, about our actions insane, we will rue.

Celebrate let us Diwali, with beautiful, colourful Rangolis n lights.
Share sweets special;  homemade n healthy.
Helping moms to them make, even if you are wealthy.
Let's a portion small of these goodies, with the less fortunate share.

દિવાળીની સફાઈ શરૂ કરીએ ચાલો
કરીએ સફાઈ અંદરની, ઘર હોય કે માળો.

સૌ પ્રથમ કરીએ દુર, લોભ, મોહ, મયા, ક્રોધ, મતલબ, અહમ, અભિમાન.

Your inculcating, values religious; help me,  so much today.
About the Shahnameh, n its heroes, all that you did narrate n say;

You, calling us by names of famous Persians ;
Building a sense of pride in us ; Cocassians.

Those stories wonderful, about our kings n pehlwans great ;
And the pathetic sad ones about our ancestors fate.

That picture, so well painted by you, in my memory still dwells.
Even today,  with their pain, often a tear in my eye swells.

Thank you dearest Dosu-pappa,  for this love, that you inculcated ;
Understand I the torture n pain, of our ancestors, that you stated.

Let me this important value instill, in our  children young.
To narrate, how our ancestors, to their religion diligently clung.

I complain shouldn't......

Complain I shouldn't about my hair turning grey n scanty
Oh they were dark brown, glossy with a bounce, at twenty.

I now mix up colours and shades in dim light.
Earlier, very powerful and keen was my sight.

Very powerful and keen was my sense of smell;
Today, though not perfect, it's quite well.

Taste I could, n proudly the ingredients, name.
Today, I still can differentiate but not in the way, same.

Tiredness, fatigue, pain, I knew not, what this was !
Strength from the body, waning gradually is; age is the cause.

Changes these, are part of aging; it's an ongoing process.
Accept this fact, with all my heart, I should; and complain less.

In this world, many, in a worse position than me are.
Thankful to Ahura be I should, for keeping me reasonablly healthy, so far.

दिल जले तो धुवा दिखता नहीं, होता है, चहूं ओर अंधेरा ही;
दिया जले तो धुआ भले हो, वोह फैलाता है, प्रकाश भी।
चलो बंध करे, जलाना अपना जिया;
और दिल का अंधेरा दूर करे, जलाए एक दिया।

दीपावली में, दुर करे दिल, घर, और देश का अंधेरा
बहुत सालोसे बैठा है ये दिल में, बनके गेहरा।
मिटा दो इसे हमेशा के लिए, दिलसे कर दो इसे दुर

During our autumn years, on leaves dry we tread.
It's in times these, to lose our dear ones, we dread.
This anxiety impending, is always on our head;
It worries us more, than planning for our daily bread.

A phone call, on a still, quiet night, very late;
Sends our already weak heart racing, into a bad state.
Worry we tremendously, about the impending fate.
Though know we, for each one of us, fixed is a date.

Vulnerable we become, in this autumn season.
Think our near n dear ones involved will be, in treason.
Worry we, without  facts or any important reason.
Worry we unnecessarily endlessly, whatever be the season.

Kind  Lord, this Diwali, dispel may You, all the darkness.
May go away, all small or big dreaded sickness.
And diminish may, all our physical, mental n emotional weakness.

Also vow I, Chinese products, I will try n ban.
Earthen Diyas use as many as I possibly can.
Ban crackers I will;  pollution they create; harming beast n man.

Umpteen delicacies made will be, some in Syrup, some dry.
Sweets n salty savories, to share with the needy, I will try.
This a smile can bring on their faces, n prevent their hungry-cry.

Distribute I will pencils n books, to education spread.
It is as important as distributing bread.
To think of an uneducated India, I actually dread.

બલડ્યો ચલાવે ગાડી, ખેંચે હળ; માર ખાવો છે એનું નસીબ.

ઘોડો બી ચાબુક ખાતો જાય, એને માલિક ની અેડી બી વાગે; નસીબ બિચારાનું.

ગાય જેવી ઘરડી થાય, એનો બી બુરો થાય હાલ.
કોઈ બિચારી આં માતાને કરે ન વાહલ.

માનવ ની ફિતરત છે આવી, કામ બી કરાવે અને ધુત્કારે પણ.

M om Dad miss you all very much, I do.

I am busy with this work or that; I have no time.
I am an office going person, I have no time.
There is so much work already; for prayers, I have no time.

But to pray, I have no time.

આજે આસમાન રહેજો સ્વરછ અને સાફ .

Kind  Lord, this Diwali, dispel may You, all the darkness.
May go away, all small or big dreaded sickness.
And diminish may, all our physical, mental n emotional weakness.

Also vow I, Chinese products, I will try n ban.
Earthen Diyas use as many as I possibly can.
Ban crackers I will;  pollution they create; harming beast n man.

Umpteen delicacies made will be, some in Syrup, some dry.
Sweets n salty savories, to share with the needy, I will try.
This a smile can bring on their faces, n prevent their hungry-cry.

Distribute I will pencils n books, to education spread.
It is as important as distributing bread.
To think of an uneducated India, I actually dread.

Our Own

It is most often our own, that cause us trouble.
Our trust and faith, they destroy, as if it's a bubble.
This unfortunately, always causes us pain double.

I felt like writing this,after hearing about the killings of six hundred elephants.

O human, so very selfish do not be.
Open your eyes, and God's goodness see.
Cruel n self-centred be not.
In your own web get caught, do not .
Ivory, fetch you may money some;
But a crime it is, to **** helpless animals dumb.
Beware please, not to take this curse
Or y will have to live a life, worse.

Khordad stands for perfection, let's try to this reach.
Let us first learn and alongside others teach.
Difficult it is, but little by little, endeavour to do so, we can.
First, ego, pride, jealousy, high-headedness we have to shun n ban.
Quietly, with determination, tread on to this path, without any fuss.
On this day auspicious, right away, from today, make a beginning let us.

FINGERS GREEN.

O Ahura,
Grant me please, fingers really, effectively green.
So that grow I can, beautiful gardens, such ones, I have never seen;
And also to grow cherry-blossoms, tulips, roses, lavenders, orchids, I am keen.
O Ahura, please let me grow many plants; making me a plantation queen.
If a seed I throw, may it grow into a tree lush green.
May I be able to grow vegetables, fruits n many a bean.
This is a passion since long, from the time, I was in my teens.
To grant my wish, is in hands Your, and You know I am very keen.

THE RICH POOR

Oh, so poor, how very poor, these very rich millionaires are.
Feed they cannot a poor; but squander money they do, at a bar.

Jeans they wear, torn ones; n pay in thousands; in cash hard.
Or faded ones they buy, which normally one should discard.

These rich-poor, wear beads, of muli-colours, like the tribal.
Which the really poor, afford cannot, gold n silver; hence wear them as jewelry-bridal.

Their hair they cut in ways funny n beards long grow.
In fashions weird, a lot of money, they waste or throw.

The unfortunate part is, they call themselves fashionable, elite, setting a trend;
In reality, they blindly follow fashion, driving their parents, round the bend.

Feel I, wear we should, what suits us, comfortable with appealing looks.
Not just blindly follow fashion magazines and books.
