i miss you
like i miss the stars
in sky above the mountains
when i wander into the city
these street lights
just don't compare
and i miss you
like i miss the river
gently rushing over skin
this empty shower
just doesn't compare
i miss you
like nature
after deforestation
to our love
it was breathtaking
and it's fall
haunting

It’s been so long since my heart was so dangerously close to being exposed
upon the catwalk that is called connection
It frightens me
but whispers of peace have become my food
As I gently coax my heart into the open
I’m relieved to find I’m no longer paralyzed
nor terrified
nor am I too desperate for love
that I would quickly accept a fool

to cover my mistakes up.

don't hide behind your makeup"

I let different boys touch me
Because I wanted to know
Even for a second
What it felt like to be loved
Even if the love was cheap
And it tasted like ***
Like the punchline to a joke
I never got because it was me

I let different boys have different parts of me
Parts they didn't deserve
But I offered up willingly because I couldn't give anything else
after you broke me
I was looking for different fingers
to place different pieces and hoping  the outcome
would be a masterpiece
Maybe one of them would find a way
to cover up the handprints you left all over me

I let different boys touch me because I had to prove to myself
you wouldn't be the only one
that these scars marking my body wouldn't define
my worth to be loved
I am not entirely sure
you aren't the only one who could ever touch me without slightly  flinching

I let different boys touch me because that is all I have been taught
To be a joke
To be silent
To be ready to give until you have nothing left
- they keep leaving me and I am to scared to offer up anything more than my body to get them to stay

I met a man
as strange as could be
trudging along
the
illuminated street

He reminisced
for the days
he would
part the gold sea
when his eyes glistened
for a girl
whom looked like me

His words
quite eclectic
&  electric
Eloquent indeed

His eyes
Pure & Sweet

Others may proclaim
Danger ensues
But darling I knew
The esoteric man
Was no different
From me

She was
So quiet
So lonely
So beautiful

She loved to dance
Between the stars
Her bright smile
Lighted up the night

Her wonderful eyes
Broke the lock in my heart

I stayed in her moonlight and
I felt love for the first time.

What a unforgettable night.

Here is a quick lesson
a important session
You are the reflection of perfection

To compare someone to you
What am I to do
Compare a rock to a mountain
Compare a heavenly spring to a fountain
Compare a stone to a pearl
Your hair has that perfect curl

When you compare yourself your light is dimmed
It's almost like you sinned
Your self-respect trimmed

In the end we're all unique
And comparing ourselves with others is stupid
the language the weak speak
a poison arrow from Cupid

Talk is cheap
But your lips were expensive
I might as well get
My money’s worth

Ineffable
attraction:
a force by which things are pulled towards each other,
for example:
your eyes to pizza
my eyes to you
