He asked me- "Why are you still a ******?
I smiled and said- "I'm good at DIY"

The science of our body is such that it doesn't distinguish between ******* and ****** ******* since, the end result is the same.

Then why do we lust for people? Why do we look for mates even when we aren't planning to prove Darwin's Theory of Survival of the Fittest!

We hide away
In fantasies

Where sweeter
Sins taste
Like butterscotch
Candies

To compliment
The bitter truth
Of our Malaises

But do we really
Know what
It means

When ducking
Away from
Bashful daydreams

COVID-19
It has changed all the lives it hasn’t yet claimed
Too many deathbeds held souls in empty spaces
Innocent, isolated individuals
With their visitors crying in the hospital parking lot instead of their hospital room
As if goodbye wasn't hard enough

It has changed the way we grow
Children won't know how to share
Instead they will have “disinfect” ingrained in their young brains
Carrying hand sanitizer like a shield, a barrier against the germs
Taught to fear others as though they’ll **** us themselves

It has changed the way we consume
Online shopping to the point we don't remember what's in packages
Spending money we don't have
Sanitized carts and Purell at every entrance of the stores that have opened
Grocery shopping sparks anxiety like never before

It has changed the way we love
Zoom calls and FaceTimes are as connected as we can get
The inability to remember what it feels like to be in another's arms
We stand six feet apart, not knowing how to act
Trying to read the millions of emotions held within each others eyes

It has changed how we dress
Forgetting where you've placed your mask is just as bad as your keys
Face covers scream isolation
Smothering smiles, turning us all into faceless creatures
But somehow the mere thought of the pandemic feels more suffocating

It has changed the way we exist
Instilling a new fear into the next generation
A new urgency in the medical field
And overall, a new norm that makes unity unbelievably uncomfortable.

Each moment with you was surreal
As if I had stepped into a
Dream
I felt my spirit
Outside looking in

From the first hello
When your eyes scintillated
Burning their mark into my
Soul
I was lost in you
Lost in your perfect beauty

You found your way into the deepest chambers
Of my heart
You saw and understood
You reached inside
Running your fingers across my pain
And I smiled

I stood outside
Listening as I spoke those inevitable words
Watching
Thwarted love played out on the big screen
It all happened so fast

The poetry isn’t in all these words —
It’s in knowing I survived them.
Holy smokes! Thank you everyone for all of the support! I don’t come here too often so I did not expect this; what a beautiful surprise ♥️

When I cry, I look into the mirror.
I resist the urge because it’s a vain thing to do, but I always give in. I feel my face warp to look more presentable. Pretty.

Red skin and blue eyes. I can look pretty when I cry. Be still.

If I was not pretty, what would I be?

If you need to brutally use your fists
Against my flesh and bones
Then the deeper meaning
Behind your actions
Is that you are incapable of communicating

The Dali Lama once said
Nonviolence
Is the reflection of internal peace within
If you beat me
Then you are incapable of using your words
There is no peace found within

You
The only thing stopping
You
Is
You

But hey
I’ve been there too

So used to the pain that
Without some sort of
Suffering
You don’t feel
Like you're in
The right mind
Frame

And that’s okay

But some advice
Don’t mind the
Time as it passes by
Because yes it's
True that time
Heals all wounds

Yet What they
don’t tell you
Is that it may
Take an eternity
To get through

So maybe tonight
Go outside
And look at the sky

Do you see the stars?
How they shine so bright?

Well one of them
Is you

And once you see
The only thing stopping
You
Is
You

There’s nothing you can’t
Do

I believe in you,

Feel the need to cry?
Do that too

I understand
I’ve been there too

But remember
We are all
Here for
You
