Rolling on the ground no visible contents
Searching to be filled or occupied with a task
Almost like a Senior citizen with memories worth repeating but nobody listening
Nobody paid it any mind but it refused to be thrown away
Needed to be useful but there was nothing to do but pass the time
It didn't escape the Sanitation pickup this time like a shelter dog waiting for a visitor to with a forever home

They felt neglected and waited , yet for another day
The bag was filled with yesterday with  no thoughts of today or tomorrow

My walks are usually solemn and quiet
Unless my music is with me
Today a delightful surprise accompanied me
Four stunning and elegant swans out of no where
Spring is on her way

This is not a decade poem
Age sometimes has wisdom but some are older souls though their birth certificates don't jive

This is not about being correct
Learn when to say F off

Get or take a test, or don't come
Two hours before an event?
Vaccines and boosted not good enough
Show cancelled because cast had Covid?
Best friend here and been two years since we have seen each other
Caution and careful
Staying home feels like walls caving in
If this was your holiday you are not it alone
We have had enough
WE have been more than mindful and extremely careful
Listened to Dr. Fauci and all of his colleagues
Happy 2022 and may this Grinch finally depart for good.

A pastry.
A Danish, almond preferably.
A large cookie from the bakery
A Multi-grain or rye bagel.
Walking twenty five miles a week affords this
Iced green tea accompaniment when dewpoint goes over seventy
Truth be told, iced tea is a preferred beverage all year long with lemon
Being an epicurean is fun but not easy.
Then again that is every day of the week.
The treat is once a week.

Hello poetry iis mentioned and Thanked in the acknowledgment  area of my poetry book.
The chance I took in bringing my work to the public came because I Write here.
I will continue to do so.
I will support this site just as soon as we support Paws for Purple Hearts which is a service dog organization.
My book tells people to heal the heart and mind.
Please be patient but know I  am a poet here and I care.
There are people who one here to read and don’t write.
They are equally as important as my fellow poets.
I write grants too and if asked will help.

There was company today
Jif the squirrel went on chomping on his acorns
The ducks were flapping in the pond
The seagulls squawked their symphony
This beautiful lady flew by and seemed to be with me along tne way
Her paprika and tumeric ensemble with black velvet lace on the edge made her stunning in the sunlight
Moving on further a smaller ivory and lemon
winged friend joined us
So exquiite and non assuming
Hope I get a mariposa walk again soon
They take my breath away
How I wish that I could fly with them

My heart has been broken so many times
Surprised it is still beating
Stepped on and rejected
Bounced back in time and with good advice
Nobody listened
They were too busy rejecting who was different
Their listening skills were nil
No need to give them an answer
Just went forward on bumpy roads
Now the skills that were lacking are slowly there but I trust few
When you are hurt and used you build a big wall
My moment in time is now as I do what I want to do and have people cheering me on my journey
A little late but here goes something

Several years ago a horrible cry came from the park.
A feral cat was killing a squirrel
Many people feed the cats so this made me incredibly sad
Yesterday I saw two squirrels in trees flicking their tails to signal danger or a problem
A white and gray cat was watching their every move on the trees
Ready to pounce or make her way to the tree
I stood there watching for a while hoping that the cat would leave
I hope next time I feed the squirrels that they are all safe and sound
I love animals and am involved in animal charities but this hurt my heart to view
This was survival of cruelty

He reminded me of my visit to Walden Pond and how I tore my heel because I didn't own hiking boots.

We stopped as the ducks sat on a log in the pond and waited until the Goose march ended with the geese taking flight

read everything you can and decide for yourself
no media should make up your mind
there should be many sources
before you say anything it is my field of endeavor
there are three sides to a story and one is the truth
not your truth , the truth
we are united in heart, soul ,and mind
the others that are not can leave themselves and yesterday behind
just because your parents taught you something doesn't make it right
you are taught differently in school and hear echoes of don't listen to them at night
open yourself to learning and growing you might find out that you everybody has a valuable story to share
time to listen to what everybody is about
after all we are human beings
there is no doubt

Things and people go up and down
You ride high and then low
Sometimes you coast
Your appreciation and joy should never be taken for granted
Take what you can from low tide
Learn from it
Apply that knowledge towards stormy and rainy days
Jump and do cartwheels find other ways to turn
Walk and dance
The next time your wheels are spinning just think about this
You never know when the wheel stops and starts for you
Don't go with the flow
Go with your heart and what you know
You will learn much more when you accept the Wheel

Such lovely Spring weather you gave us
Mixed with rain, wind, and tornadoes which is very strange for the East Coast
Why turn the Big Apple and New Jersey into applesauce the inedible kind that over cooked and slimed on your oven
The shorter and darker days are not welcoming when we just turned the clocks back and yearn for March to turn them forward again
Seems you run through your day just to enjoy the sunshine or natural light
Syncopated thuds of rain on a deck or on the ground accompanied by the clacking of keyboards on Cyber Monday
UPS,Amazon , and other delivery services braving the downpour and thunder as well as the multitude of orders
As a November girl it is hard to say goodbye but we must welcome December
Waiting for the days to be longer and brighter again amid all we are still dealing with

The band aids never worked

They become competent and special women

The bread would be fresh for two more days and we were not finishing it
Thought of the Bluebirds that gave me such joy
Quickly cut the remainder up and walked to the park
One Bluebird was perched on a high branch
Sparrows had their daily meeting on the ground
A sparrow was walking around because a feral cat was around
He sent the warning chirp
The bread was placed there and by a big tree
As I walked away the bread was happily devoured and no sign of the poor cat
Many people feed the feral cats but didn't want those cats making meals of the birds or squirrels

Skippy is saying Hi from the Rainbow bridge
Anybody hurting or abusing them is the worst act
The consequences are dealt with by the charities that we support
So when paws pass you by or if you are lucky enough to call them family
Remember how dear they are
You are lucky enough to call them family or support them as we do

When does one push the stop button?
When the noises in your head get so loud you stop them before they explode
Leaving you to wonder do you leave well enough alone
Just leave
Pick up the pieces and move forward
Is there anything left of what used to be?
Has the virus destroyed so much that all we do is stand still?
While others try another approach

Conservatory gardens and North Woods
Statues . runners. walkers, and strollers
Charity walks raising money for causes near and dear
Meadows for picnics and lazy days
She is one of our treasures
Take a tour or a walk with a guide
Museum mile is a heartbeat away
Come and meet one of our charming ladies
Our grandest Lady is your guide

Soldiers who will fight for a win
Tee shirts with names of those who suffered
They are remembered with Love and Joy
She will not rest until Esophageal Cancer has a cure and treatment
The fourth annual walk today proves her spirit and determination with many cheering her on

When, where, why,
and how did we lose our focus?
Out of focus more than we realize
Happiness and nostalgia left the room?
The gold old days were all bad?
What was good about them?
Technology and Social Media should not carry all the blame
We don't talk to each other
We don't articulate and communicate thoughts and feelings
We talk about each other and that was long before the Pandemic hit.
Something got lost in the translation
Are the masses inept, subjective, and vacuous?
What appears to be real is surreal?
It's not ignorance
Because it is what it is, move on.
Cast asperations aside?
Simply enjoy life
Accept that all human beings need to be treated with respect and dignity
Learn from differences to find that we are more alike than you realize

The impulse has been with me for as long as I can remrmber

If writing is inherently lonely, and funny it has been my friend and companion for as long as I can remember.
Never judges me and lets me speak my truth.
Being a loner has been easier because I write.
Can't deal with gossip and Princesses or Princes
Not amused at all and run from them every chance that is possible.
So it is easy to write one a day or more.

Could it be getting better meant so much more than you realized?
It takes a lot to feel better as you recover.
Recovery is for the patient as well as their loved ones and friends
Things are not quite as they once were  
Perhaps they will get better with the most patience one can muster
