Gray clouds playing shades of gray games
Then a small patch of light blue sky
Sun slowly coming out while skies grayer for a quick sunshower
Blue Jay flying up to a adjacent tree
While a squirrel scurried up his favorite place for a snack and snooze
Patch of blue kept returning to remind us that the rain and thunder will end.
Sunnier days will befriend us again

The ducks swim in the winter wind and quack away
The squirrels do their acrobatic routines on powerlines and get those nuts and goodies hidden
Poets and writers look for fresh ways to say it better and enjoy their craft

The US government will punish the guilty ones with their fake tan and hopefully wearing an orange jumpsuit next to Guiliani
What you used to be Mr. Mayor no longer counts

Bunnies, Squirrels and Birds getting a taste of the nuts and goodies left them before the rain and snow.
Sad to think they are ignored, and people don't stop to look at them and share their wonder.
That wonder has never left me.
So Facebook is not as entertaining, and some chats are beyond boring.
Visiting a zoo in the Winter months and any time of year is still a joy.
They are the pets I can't have at home due to a loved one's severe allergies
A Hypoallergenic dog came to visit and we learned the hard way that we can't have dogs around or go to homes with them
Dog charities are my way of having a pet
All Little and Big Creatures I will always love you and visit

Thinking of how much Henry David Thoreau would have enjoyed this.
Moment of Nature on CBS returned me to Cape Cod at Sunrise.
All one had to do was enjoy the sights and sounds.
The Ocean, Seagulls, Sea Lions and the calm.
Lately Scott Miller's videos are a weekly delight.
We have great gifts from Mother Nature that we should cherish and take good care of
In a world that is sometimes hard to believe and recognize this is a great gift.
Reminds me of teaching Walden again.

A lovely Golden Retriever Puppy barked at me and wanted to play.
Her owner was trying to teach her to walk on a leash so I didn't pet or play with her.
Looked up to the sky and my Skippy was saying Hello and I miss you too.
I almost heard him say I am OK at Rainbow Bridge but whenever you see a Golden walking, I am saying Hello.
When I arrived home looked at his photo and smiled through my tears.

The woman is a blessing

Several years ago a horrible cry came from the park.
A feral cat was killing a squirrel
Many people feed the cats so this made me incredibly sad
Yesterday I saw two squirrels in trees flicking their tails to signal danger or a problem
A white and gray cat was watching their every move on the trees
Ready to pounce or make her way to the tree
I stood there watching for a while hoping that the cat would leave
I hope next time I feed the squirrels that they are all safe and sound
I love animals and am involved in animal charities but this hurt my heart to view
This was survival of cruelty

Walking has become a healthy means to reframe and enjoy every day or start that way.
No music, no podcasts only nature's sounds and music
It's healthy.
It's calming.
For the last four years of battling diseases of those close to the heart and Dear Friends, pain, hurdles, and sorrow

It doesn't promise to write book reviews that have yet to come to fruition

The human guy enjoys it and he waits for a slice or two
that he will share
His human mom hates meatloaf and doesn't tell her it's a hamburger because it is not.
For her husband and Pups, she will acquiesce.

Friends are running a marathon in it today with raingear handy.
Ducks were racing and splashing without a care.
How waterproof are their feathers?
Others walk their dogs soe dogs wearing their fashionable raincoats and booties.
Many drive to their Saturday plans which are now indoors.
Hearing lyrics to every song about rain from film to rock to theater.
Left tunes home since umbrella and hood get in the way and impossible to get a clear signal.
Rain brings drop zones.
Walking in the the rain.

Certain people feel the need to say it all without regards to your feelings
Their opinion reigns supreme no matter the reasons or circumstances
The caveat here is to not let it disturb your sleep or how they are making you feel
You can deal but the truth is you can tell them off or turn a deaf ear
No matter what you do you just have to let it go or let them go because they wag their tongues without self control

The squirrels decided to entertain with acrobatics while they found the roasted nuts left for them by several trees.
Some leaves were soaked from the rain while others stayed bright and green refusing to fall
The humidity and dew point have made walking a melting Olympic sport
Hypocrisy and ignorance dance around us while others just try to move forward and carry on
People have enjoyed meeting others while putting prejudice and arrogance behind them and that is delightful
Wardrobes are still in Summer for now and probably will be until November right before Thanksgiving
This is an East Coast September and used to bes like Neil Diamond wrote Just lie on the floor til you sweep them away
It is a different September no matter what coast you call home
I met my husband forty-four years ago this week so I have a thing for September and tall blue eyed men.

People witnessing horrific moments and people jumping from windows
No matter where you live you were affected
Someday there will be a National Day of Remembrance so we never forget and remind those who were not born yet what happened

What is a poet to do?
You listen for the muses and their cues no matter where they come from.
No chorus, harmony, or melody without a feeling.
Hoping they will find you and return.
Open your eyes.

The last four years have been beyond comprehension but no matter what I have heard and experienced the words stay positive.
Many things have changed but having heart and calm saves the day.
Some things stay the same and for others, you adapt to the times and issues as best you can.
There is so much to see and do.
If you have given up, please don't think of taking me with you.
