Did my parents reunite?
Did they find my grandparents?
Siblings and other family and friends

Hard to be an adult orphan but I am now.

If there are such things as angels watching over us, all of us.

Grieving gently and quietly
Reminders of her everywhere
As forward thinking marches through
Justice Ginsburg's passing just makes it harder
They came from similar backgrounds and ages
People need to keep their distance
Well meaning and supportive
There is nothing happy about this state of mind
Letting others deal is the best notion
Spending time with those closest works
Even then, respecting and knowing that as the Winter Holidays approach
Making excuses and postponing and saying Not Know
is the way to go

What is normal?
A red sun of the likes we have never seen setting in a New York sky
Hate and death becoming nothing more than a headline?
Points for the Media to ponder depending on the outlook
Either learn from it or change the channel
Better still read and turn it off
Permission to shop at Amazon's luxury line defines us?
Dreaming of leaving on a jet plane to the places temporarily postponed
Grieving losses and deaths very gently
Many hard to digest and believe
Holding the hand of a three month old girl who has promise and joy surrounding her
A beauty hard to behold
Watching  two year old nephew marvel at helicopters and wind chimes
His soul and music surrounding him
Holding hope for them and all of you

The lesser of two evils at least I hope we will

It is out there and some with good cause
We can read it and feel it
The search is for kindness and goodness in our changing world
Not partisan but from the heart
Too many have been pained and jolted into something beyond inconceivable
You matter and what matters has forever changed for some
Some won't change and that unfortunately is the way that it is
If writing and poetry gives people something to hold on to
Hopefully striving forward than it is a wonderful gift
We can't throw in the towel and give up
Naysayers need not read further
This is not Pollyanna in any means
There is a two year old and four month old that deserve a better world to live in
No hate, injustice, and a cleaner environment
My nephews and nieces deserve the best
My wish is that those people in your family are loved and treasured enough that the need for Poetry never goes away

Raised in unity and solidarity
Some soft and gentle and others loud and clear
Changes long overdue but not acted upon or met like long ago and far away
Fairytales need not apply now
Tears falling and not understood like liked feelings wiped away and locked suspended in time
Believe what you need too but care completely
Respect others differences and rights
Religion and Politics are left at the door when you take your shoes off to enter
Make sure you read and ask pertinent questions

Look very carefully at the prisms

Music and sound work towards bring harmonious
Art and color are companions usually finding common ground
Pen and paper adore words once they find a new way to say what has been said
Somehow the creative and special ones are ridiculed because they don’t or won’t go with the flow
The flow does not compliment them
They don’t standup or standout until it is their time
Patience and great care requires diligence
Creativity and differences should be celebrated not condemned
There is a means and no end

you can't  see where they are bleeding
some scars are wounds that simply refuse to heal
others need more attention
not all disabilities are visible
the truth isn't always the best medicine or answer
even when it is capable of destruction very difficult to comprehend
leaving well enough alone is not always the best policy but what if it is the only one?
how much does it have to hurt?
will the cost be too great?
draw filled with smiles slapped on will only get you so far
do we judge too freely?
do we forget that yesterday doesn't exist for some because they only have today
when will they ever accept tomorrow?
One step forward and two steps back may not be the prescription

reminding me how important school is
Dying on a bathroom floor on the lap of a 15 year old me
We had few memories
Photographs faded and updated with better technology
Wounds heal for some
Mine are scars that reopen and try to heal again
Harder still because Mom is with you now and will fill in all the blanks
Somehow August 23 rolls around and that 15 year old still cries out and the tears wont dry
Just as we were saying Hello , it was a forever goodbye

My father in-law gone five years today.
My father gone forty seven years ago tomorrow.
Please don't say long ago because we lost our Daddy at age 45.
Mom is gone three weeks ago this Monday.

Sleepless nights are slowly leaving
Still hard to fall away
This too shall pass is different for many
Reality set in like a lightning bolt in your mind
Reminders are there
Somethings are easier and others are void
Grief needs to be gentle even though it hits you like a mac truck that runs over you and never stops until it it good and ready
Seems like it is on instant replay
2020 will eventually end and some good things will be remembered
as for the others, many of us will remain numb for the time being even as we move forward and try to live life the very best we can

It is an August not soaking rain but getting there
People are driving but destinations unknown
The bakery had great Danish so it went home first trip
This was a longer walk and very quiet until he appeared
This little ball of golden sunshine that should be on a tropical island

Many sentences starting with do you remember
You are one of Mother Nature's children now
Heard you during a thunderstorm and asked you to quiet down last night
Loud enough that it was booming and deafening
I have forgiven many things since last Monday when you were taken from us
There is one issue that forgiveness cannot be granted
You hated the love of my life when a parent should welcome and love them with open arms because they chose your child
He gave me his name and more love than a lifetime can hold
Yet, your other child's love was loved from the very moment he met you
He bought me a wedding dress never had a gown
The reception you denied me was a small restaurant that he paid for
His parents were ready to give us that party but we declined for all parents should chip in
She got the reception and the gown?
First born crushed again.
Even my wedding album was a gift from his cousin
October will bring our 40th wedding anniversary celebrated differently than we originally planned
Witnessed by many spoken about by very few unless confidentially
This I cannot forgive because the pain and heartache it caused and still causes makes for a suffering wished on nobody else

Heaven has a new angel.
My father,her father,and other family members will welcome her
Others will take issue on things she said
and how some were hurt and forever changed by narcissism on her part
In 91 years on this khaki coil,she saw her children and grandchildren get married.
Greeted her great grandchildren in 2018 and recently in 2020.
Her spirit soars in lavendar blooms.
The monarches will always remind us thst she never really left us
She made her mark not like others but on her own.

It is your body laying there but not your mind or the one we knew

Quiet has befriended me and it is a welcome companion
Given circumstances currently out of control

Incredible what they do on happier days

If time and illness make her climb harder hard to watch

The further he ran the more he turned back to see me

Birthdays,trips to places far and near that we wanted to send you on
Graduations, anniversaries,weddings and births

Shades of every CRAYOLA Green imaginable on fields of grass longing for picnics and running children with shouts of glee
Humid 4th of July with food and drink a plenty but parties elsewhere or secluded
Some parks opened and others gated
Some beaches open while private pools are there for those who have
Public pools are waiting for opening day
Then a small purple magenta bud stood out
Usually being blue dominated wouldn't have noticed
She was reminding me of better days down the road

Walking through museums trying to take it all in and listen to your thoughts
The memories are jumbled because life has gone on and stopped where you are concerned
It was another time and place not to be erased but not reimagined
We didnt forget you but the world is very different from when you left us
One that you could never live in or accept
You ruled with your thoughts and ideas with no room for change
You loved us but didnt listen

Find one thing every single day
A something you love or have forgotten about

Right now Strawberry Champagne Stonewall preserve is doing it for me

Hugging and seeing friends
Attending Television tapings and enjoying restaurants while sitting indoors with no fear or consequences
Many truths are becoming evident and we must move forward and get out of the past befote it destroys us further

My sweetheart's birthday is paused like our great city but we will celebrate him as best we can
