Dying star

Dying Star

A falling star; a dying heart.
A step too far for a shot in the dark.
A burnt out car; the ruins of a castle.
You cannot defibrillate love inside a hospital without a chapel.

A smile without fidelity;
Two eyes of glass.
A poison without a remedy.
Never take them back.

Clouds of clarity;
Give to charity.
Peace love and empathy…
Embrace the misery.

Let the sunlight shine,
Or find a place to hide.
We are all ugly on the inside.
Every day becomes a night.

Try to find your Feng shui,
Or find your own path.
Who can say,
When it is your time to begin again or to turn back?

Plant a foot;
Plant a seed.
Plant a thought…

Just make sure you succeed.

The desert road

The desert road

Vulture eyes look down on me
And as I pass them by, I live and I breathe.
They are waiting in anticipation, just to feed their greed;
But that time is not too soon, in becoming an eventuality.

Onward I walk under the desert heat, with dancer’s feet;
There is no mistaken direction taken by me
And nobody to meet, on this sand-swept road.
No humanity to be heard in the distance and no water oasis to behold.
Just the sweat that pours down from my brow;
My glazed eye ***** cannot fail me now,
As I stare into the bright blue sky, searching for a cloud.

A Foreign Legion lies behind me in the distance;
I have left it all behind.
For I am a Prince in search of a Princess;
I am a scorpion upon the sand, no keeper of time.
In an hour glass I shook the sands of my life
And back to the front is the only way now.
The world is all mixed up in this barren time line.

I passed away a long time ago,
But on I wander and only I know,
How this arduous journey will end
And where I will find my relief.
For I have learned of my destiny,
From a mystic inside a tent,
My money spent,
My future has been told,
In exchange for two pieces of silver;
Pieces of eight, that have been made from gold.
So onward I walk, in search of a soulmate and salvation…

Along the desert road.

My final love
Aa Harvey Apr 2018
My final love

The final drips of the love in my blood,
Have gone into never; never to be seen again.
I have waited a life-time for someone to love,
But I have nothing left to give to a search forever in-vain.

I have climbed the mountains of obstacles,
That stood between me and my saving grace.
I have dived into the depths of my soul through endless waves.
I have searched every star for a light to show the way,
But there is darkness, there is emptiness, there is nothing but rain.

My heart was born broken and I have been forever shattered.
I have no happiness left inside of me, nor tears left to cry.
I have this ability to write a few thousand rhymes,
Not that it even matters;
So while I wait for extinction, I will write ten thousand new lines.

Hopefully soon I will reach the land;
I have already been banished from the gene pool,
For being a fool, but a fool for love never learns, until it is too late.
Since day 1 I have always wanted a wife and a kid to raise,
But now all I want is to reach sky high
And pluck every star from the universe,
Just to show you my curse.  Fade to grey.

The words I use are meaning less and less and less.
Bad things comes in three’s,
On a daily basis for me.
Keep your pity.
I only jest.

For eternity I suffer, so I will at least suffer gladly.
Say what you want;
It will be no worse than what I already think about me.
I am the endless stink; a stain on existence.
I pollute your illusions,
As I destroy my life…
Long live the delusions; love is a pretense has already been said,
So let’s pretend that it exists and is not just another lie.
Feed the fantasy, create a mythology;
You have to take a blind leap of faith into love,
So you cannot see the reality.

You all seem to carry your fake love in a handbag.
Your hand-grenade adultery,
And to adultery, only thanks.
You have made me see the realities of this thing called love.
Love is pathetic.  As pathetic as me?
Almost, but nothing is quite that bad.
When is life good?

Love is a dream for the sad, to stop them going crazy;
I am driving this life-force over the edge, daily,
Because it doesn’t even matter if e=mc2!
All I find is the emptiness of space, death sounds so final;
I have spent a life-time so unaware.
With age we learn to be prepared.
I am nobodies equal.

A kiss to bliss;
A fading eternity;
The bottom of the rabbit hole,
I am forever falling down.
A thud and I am gone;
Didn’t even get to play my requested song.
Nor did I ever get to put on a crown.

You can take my soul for free,
It is so extremely worthless.
I have no thoughts left as I lie here in my dead-bed.
I am more useless,
Than the promise you solemnly made in a white dress.
I am guilty, of believing.  Off with his head!

One final thought for you all;
Forget about me…

Peace, love and empathy.

Internal Monologue

I guess I am truly getting old.
The time has come to let the old me go.
My face of youth no longer suits.
No longer feeling bullet proof;
More like feeling twenty-percent proof,
When I wake up, still in pieces.
I am sure I went to sleep hours ago.
I’m sure I did, I swear it.

My body does not feel rested.
It’s begging out to,
Get your head tested,
If you think I am moving right now pal!
You’re joking!
I ain’t moving unless there is an earthquake
And even then I will only be shaking,
But I won’t get up yet…
I love this bed.
I am setting up camp,
Understand?

She has not got up yet.
Don’t leave her all alone.
Turn off your phone and hold the water flow.
Just go back to sleep.
But I really gotta ***!
No you don’t, just hold it in.
It’s far too warm for that cold room with the sink.

So lay here with her until she wakes up
And when she does, ask her for a back rub.
I don’t know what you did last night,
But it feels like I slept on a log.
Ignore the dog that is scratching in the kitchen down stairs.
He can hold it in too, unless he hears you, walking down the stairs.

Look.  She will wake up in twenty three minutes,
So give me a rest before the invasion of the kids,
The barking dog and the wifely orders;
The chores, the D.I.Y., the school run
And planting those borders!
The shopping’s today and outside looks so grey
And so very, very cold.
I’m feeling too old; my body aches.
I think in bed you should remain,
Just for a little while longer.
You know you ain’t getting any younger.
So close your eyes, just rest them a while,
So when she does wake you up,
With a word of love,
Or a shout,
Or a shove,
You can greet her with a kiss and a friendly smile
And don’t forget to say:
“Morning love.”

People pass on by my mind’s eye,
And then they are gone forever.
I remember friends and lovers, so high!
They took my wings with every smile.
I never want to leave this land,
So now I exist in the never.

Perfectly imperfect describes me.
Although more accurately would be, incomplete.
Situations arise and I am at one with the sky
And Mother Nature guides my every footstep forward.
I travel blind.
I feel as if life is being lived in reverse.
I have no need for curse words.
There is no need to shout, I can hear.
I can even feel, but I cannot cheer.

Déjà vu times two or three.
It’s all the same to me.
Witches brew, potion of healing,
There is no remedy,
For my broken heart.
Leave me to my dreaming.

A philosophical question for anyone who has an idea.

Imagine my hands are a set of scales.
In my right hand I hold this crazy little thing called love.

You can choose anything you want to place in my left hand
And I will not set limits;
But, of course, you will fail.

What would you choose to balance the scales in your favour?
Please tell me your opinion…
If you have one.

Throwing stones at Philosophers

Critical conscience is not an admittance of ambivalence,
But a philosopher once said:
“You threw a rock at my head Fred!”
A road along a path is but a journey to nowhere,
If your cart is broken by a donkey or the donkey is dead.
In all the worlds that I have imagined,
Surely all things are possible,
Except finality of bravery;
A human once said.

If I read your body language correctly,
You speak only of the bee disease,
But a bee society has never ever been set free.
So what use is it to me?
I am no slave, nor have I ever been free,
In this world you have created,
Figuratively.

I…am a human being!
And once upon a time I was quite happy,
Until you chanced upon a whim to throw a rock at me.
“I never did!”  Lied he.  “And so what if I did?
I never meant anything by it.
I just wanted to see if I could do it
And whether I should or I shouldn’t is irrelevant.
I could, so I did
And if it got into your head,
Then at least I made you think.”

As I quietly pondered and thoughtfully wondered,
I was stunned, simply floundered at his absolute arrogance!
And a plundered thought was thus born…
Is he right…?
Nay!
War!

I will return his helpful hint with a tenfold of my own!
And so began The Battle of the Naut and the Earth
And upon Gods breath I roamed.
All that remain are a pile of bones,
Covered in boulders and sprinkled with stones.

If a man cannot agree, then folly!
I will become a beast and the nature of the thing,
Will forever be seen and heard!
But never truly understood.
I’d better read another book.
Look out duck!
“What?”  Said the thought bubble.
Never been at one with seeing double,
But now inflamed with insight,
I was clearly in and seeing trouble
And as sure as light, there came another stone,
From (this time) a complete unknown.

Oh the contradictions thought philosopher Uno,
As he strapped his helmet on as if he could predict the future;
And sure enough, just as peace had been bartered for and sold,
There came a clink, followed by a blink, and a thud and a lost think…
“Forget this!  I’m going home.”

So as I was roaming through the seven layers of Hell,
I thought I’ll have to ask directions to save myself.
Maybe a goodish citizen will pray tell me where the Hell I am!
Oh, excuse me young man, I was wondering if you can,
Or rather, could, tell me where the Hell I am?
The man he simply smiled and then he loudly laughed,
As he burst into a thousand screaming insect eggs!
This is not a laughing matter!  I said,
And pretty soon they were crawling up my legs.

So I ran and I ran as fast as I could,
But it did no good.
They were a part of me now and to each other we were each stuck
And it was all I could do to not let out a high pitched scream!
So I did.
And within a glimpse of time immemorial itself,
I had managed to escape from the dream.

I don’t know what love is anymore.

How do you know if you love someone,
If you no longer know what love is?
How do you carry on as if everything is normal,
When inside you are falling to bits?

How do you tell them, knowing they will be gone?
Do you never tell them and never be happy,
Just so you can still get to see them anon?
Do you confess your truth and say I think I love you?
Or do you hold your silence, resist temptation, fade and become mute?

I cannot talk to you about the fact that I am,
Just another man who has fallen for your divine beauty;
Because I cannot say anything, apart from ****!
Every time I fail to speak.

I want to be with you for as long as you wish for,
But I cannot even be in your presence, without hurting…
All I want is to be with you and say that I am all yours,
But I cannot even look you in the eye,
And there is no chance of flirting.

I cannot play games and say “Hey, I think you are cute.”
Because I know you are cute, and beautiful too;
But there are more words to say, and I cannot pick one of them.
So I banish you away from me and you hate me again.

This is what I am used to; I don’t know how to be in love.
I run away from you because you could be the book,
That I write about love, the true story, happily ever after,
But I cannot put you through this; I am such a disaster.

All the things that I don’t do, make me fall apart,
And there are so many wounds on my heart, it is covered in scars.
I am terrified of losing you and terrified of being real;
I so desperately need you to be in my life!
But I have no idea how I feel.

You are sure to be going at some point soon,
Because as soon as I find what I am looking for,
It is taken away and the depression consumes.
There is no more light inside this head of mine.
There is misery and pain and sadness; it’s divine!

I am a crumbling building of a pathetic man on his deathbed,
And all that I can think is I would buy you roses of red.
I would shower you in love with everything I have to give,
But I am going to lose you, because you could get another easily,
So why would you want this?

I despise love in all of its glory!
I hate it so much because it buries me.
I wish I could stop and never fall in love again!
But here I am at your feet begging,
Please allow me to be saved.

The piano quietly drifts along,
As another beauty quietly drifts from my life…

The time is coming to an end,
The song;
I wish I had the words,
To say…
Goodbye…

But the instrument has nothing written upon the sheet.
My heart a thesaurus,
Dictionary,
Interwoven within.
Stitched together with silent screams…

I cannot help but think something is missing.
I am missing.
I wish I went missing.
I have no Mrs.,
So I don’t have anything…

From cradle to grave,
It has always been pain.
Suffering is all that I know.
No foot-print in history will remain,
Once I close the book on this unwritten story…

A biography will be left empty,
For there will be nobody left to write this…

Your life.
I have no light,
Sitting at my side…

As I write on late into the ten thousandth night,
Alive,
I wish the bulb would just go out…

But still I survive,
On scraps and pieces,
Dreams and wishes,
Morsel’s and minutes.

I am skin on bones.
No meat on the fishes,
To feed the cat,
That I do not have…

I think it is time,
To drop the axe.
Into the void,
No looking back…

Sail away

We all sail away in the end.
Yeah we all sail away in the end.
When the horizon calls, we will be walking to a fall,
Because we all sail away in the end.

When the storm calls our name,
We will have been found but never saved,
Because we all sail away in the end.
Life is only one day in an eternity of time,
So go get what you deserve before you end up dead.
When you are carried away by the rising of the tides,
You will be free to leave and I hope you get to begin again.

If the winters doors do not open anymore,
All the heat in the world will not let you through to see the sun.
We all rise and fall, as our sail carries us for-
Words are all that remain when we are gone.
As we rise, we fall, as we sail onwards towards the shore,
We see our end before our time has come to rule the world.

In a sea of lies, we are floating butterflies;
We need the sun to dry our wings out before we can fly.
If we are carried on high, then we will have been justified;
If we believe, maybe we will walk into the light.

Oh we’re all heading home in the end.
Yeah we’re all heading home in the end.
When the moment comes and we sail off into the sun,
All the stars will lead us to a place,
Where we can be with our friends.

Ask love a question

Love doesn’t ask what the age difference is,
What job they do and how much money they make.
All love asks is do you love them?

Love doesn’t ask if they already have kids.
Are your feelings the truth?
Are you ready to get burned by the heartache once more?
All love is asking from you, is to love them.

Love isn’t a certainty.
Love doesn’t come with a warranty.
No promise is made, that can never be broken.
I can guarantee, that you will be hurt,
Eventually;
But you will be hurt, this day, by yourself,
If your declaration is never spoken.

Love is not destiny.
Love will not set you free.
Love is not your only hope.
Love is all that love can be.

Love is not going to release you from the devils inside your head.
Love is not going to bring you back from the dead.
Love is not a panacea…
All love asks is do you love her?

If you love her,
Then show her.
If you love him,
Then tell him.

If they love you,
You could become more than friends,
Or you could find a friendship that never ends,
Or you could break apart like a meteor that shatters stars!
But all love has ever asked of you is…
Do you love them?

So tell me please,
How do you feel about me?
Do you love my ‘self’; my being?
This is no time to be holding your peace.

Love is Pandora’s box.
Once thoughts are confessed to love,
You will have found your soulmate…
Or love will be eternally lost.

Tears of Man

You have the right to remain silent.
Do you make the choice or remain violent?
Do you evolve and become more civilized?
Or do you choose to stay belligerent?

You choose to be healthy like you are told.
You stop eating junk food; replaced with cold,
And in the end are you any happier?
I have become numb, apart from automatic laughter.

I laugh at things you don’t find funny.
I have thousands of instant thoughts at once.
I eat and eat and still there is a rumble inside my tummy.
You think I am clever, but my hat says ‘D’ for ‘Dunce’.
I tell you tales, and as they set sail,
The rain comes down and people complain;
But I do not complain, for I only see waves,
That carry me home to people I love.
My God!
It sure is,
A beautiful day!

Just one look

You’re a luminescent light in a dark grey world.
No bling necessary; it pales into insignificance next to your beauty.
Metal on hand, that piece does not suit you.
A classic band of gold I think you would suit.  You suit me.

There is no need to advertise your full time commitment.
It is clear from your beauty, you are already meant,
For another to love, but all sane men would look in the hope,
That there had never been a tan line on your ring-finger…but no.

These eyes do not lie or deceive.
True feelings left to their dreaming,
Of what might have been,
If only there could have been a way;
And one day I will forget you…but not today.

No other has come along who could ever replace,
Or compare to thee.  They are less than could be.
I know you will never be mine,
But all wandering minds are fixed on thou
And all of thine divine beauty.

In a far off land lives a travelling man.
He once saw you as you passed by his window.
Since that day he has scaled mountain tops and mined his way,
Through all the gold, always asking, do you know?  Do you know,
Who she was?
Once seen, never gone.
Unfortunately you will always remain,
Lost.

The square root of all people.

There is a cool breeze blowing over me.
Windows open, music playing, I am sitting with pretty.
Summer is the fading sun, so soon to disappear.
Winter calls as rain drops fall on those who are far and near.

We nearly made it back in time,
Before the dams all broke.
The ashes of a life in ruins were washed away, so clean, bespoke.

The cement is still yet to dry,
Hand prints will never fade.
Scribble your John Hancock so you remain,
A piece of along the way.

Some people want to go down in history,
As a person who never did a thing;
But nobody is free of sin and needful things.
So drop the stone, you are not alone
And I will build a dam, to protect our home.

The river will wash over us and then we will rebuild.
Run deep and stand still.
Find the peace sign you left behind;
Photographic memory.
I can picture next year’s dance,
All of this will be a party.
The dog days are over,
Look over my shoulder,
See through me to see my history.

I stand here in front of you a forgotten soul,
But I have seen my plans.
Three steps forward, then three more.
Knock on Heaven’s doors until they hear;
View paintings on every wall.
On past forefathers, past the rulers,
Past the history.
I live in a birthday present,
Give my future to me.

I am perpetual energy.
A little light lives inside of me and I’m gonna let it shine.
It may be dim; I may be dim,
But I’m with stupid <
And he is me
And together we make a pretty average team.

No expense spent on golden rings;
No bracelets, necklace or bling to wear.
We do not have to cut our hair.
We do not have to smile politely.
We have to inhale oxygen.
We have to eat.
We have to sleep on a nightly,
Basis; faces change with age,
But what remains is still the same.

The boy I was is this same man.
I just grew up, I am not Peter Pan
And who would ever want to be anyway?
I live in the real world come what may.
Earth day.

Show me how to make you happy.
You do things in your own way.
I have too many problems of my own,
To care about how much you spent on your phone.

Life is a domino effect,
A box of chocolates,
A list of regrets;
So send me back to Earth on March 21st 1970.
Peace, love and empathy,
You are too kind.
So know, I mean, I have to go, goodbye…

Here is all the love in the world…
Divide this 3.14159 pie.

Babylonia : Part Four - A Babylonian Paradise

Come in, come in, all are welcome!
Welcome to Babylonia!  Welcome home.
Every animal is welcome here,
You can be yourself;
You have no need to fear.

Babylonia has always and shall always be here.
The place for all animals, when they wish to retire.
Tired of the rat race?  Need something better?
Then Babylonia is for you friend, there is no place I’d rather
Spend the rest of eternity in;
I’d like to introduce you all to my wife and kids.

I am Groat, the goat and we have very lush grass.
Feel free to help yourself, to whatever you come across.
The world is your oyster; your greed is your clam.
This is paradise and you are all welcome.

Jungle to your left, ocean to your right;
Mountains beyond the valleys behind me.
Open your eyes to your new paradise!
Over a million trees and every day you will meet a new species.
It isn’t **** or be killed,
But I understand some of you have a need.

So hunt your prey,
Or raise a family.
Live your lives,
However you want them to be.

You can see through the water on a sunny day; I love the smell
And forget the pollution…This is Heaven, not Hell.
Whatever you wish for is yours if you can find it my friends;
But this Heaven is so large you shall never reach the end.

Eternal life here in paradise;
Generations of families sit together to talk at night.
Let us all be one great family,
Or let us all at least do as we please…
Then we shall be free.

The fruits of Eden’s vine are nothing compared to our fruit.
The juiciest, tastiest, manna sent from Heaven.
You are now all free to do whatever you choose.
I am simply here to welcome you all in…
My Friends;
The Animals.

Babylonia : Part Three - The Quest for Babylonia

There had been talk, of Noah’s walk;
The Gull spoke of a journey for all.
Every animal was to head east,
To find a place called Babylonia.
There was talk of peace.

A truce between the animals;
Well a truce of sorts, at least.
They had all pledged their loyalty to a Kangaroo named Noah;
He was to lead them on a journey to the east.

And now I speak of this journey to you all,
The fish, the crab, the whale and the gulls;
The birds, the octopus, the sharks and dolphins.
Let us all take this journey; they shall welcome us in,
To a paradise called Babylonia.
Our journey awaits us…do we dare to venture?

We can arrive before they do,
The sea is so accommodating.
No lands to cross, no hills to climb;
Just 360 degrees of water in every direction.

So let us swim or fly to Babylonia;
I bet I get there first.
We can leave the human race to their own destruction.
Let us all begin this quest.

The quest for Babylonia,
Shall be told through the generations,
As we shall all swim in the oceans of Babylonia;
We shall all begin again.
Begin new lives, begin new adventures,
Begin new families for generations.

We shall all survive and thrive;
Not swim through pollution and nets made of wire.
We shall go to the undiscovered seas;
We shall find our paradise with the other animals in unity.
We shall do whatever we please,
But we must be free from this Sea of Misery.

No human beings in Babylonia;
It has always been that way
And it shall stay that way forever.
Mother Nature has given us paradise…
Who are we to not search for it?
Do we stay here?  Or do we find a new life?

Babylonia : Part Two - Noah’s walk

Pandas chew bamboo, while you film them in the ****;
Red Elephants are extinct (Apart from a view).
Fly up high, escape the zoo’s!
The latest attraction is a Man named Hugh.

Hugh, Man?  Strange, he’s not humane.
Seize him and lock him up in a cage.
Tiger claws shall keep him in place,
Until the **** crows to tell us,
That the night time has come upon us once again.

With the darkness, come the Creepy Crawlies,
The Snakes (The Adders, the Pythons and the Cobra’s).
The Tarantula is being chased by the big bad Wolf,
Whilst the Bear has been poisoned,
By the Frog beneath his foot.

Owls spin their heads, as Buffalo’s charge away from the herd.
The Elephants follow the Rhino’s.  Such a noise to be heard.
Armadillo’s watch the Ant Eaters, as they sweep up the path;
The path has been created,
Thanks to the Rhino’s and Elephants at the head of the pack.
Birds squawk, as Eagles fly high.
A sure sign that the convoy can once more ride!

Ride on out, heading into the future;
There has been a calling, for a gathering of creatures.
Heaven awaits them, at the end of the rainbow;
Every animal is invited, even the Sloth.

The Mice sit on the Dogs head, talking to the Fleas;
As the Dog sits on the Donkey,
Who has lost his legs to disease.
The Gorillas carry them all aloft,
On bamboo rafts they found perchance.
As they sit upon the Elephant,
Who is being carried by a million Ants.

Gazelle’s rush past, with Cheetah’s in pursuit.
The Jackals stuck in the Bracknell;
They’ve lost the Cheetahs and their food.
But the Hippo will defend the Jackal, from the Crocodile;
As the Parrots collect the fruit,
To lay a path down the Green Mile.

For many shall pass through, whilst some will pass on,
But the way has now been eroded,
So at least we can see where we are going.
Follow the food; come one, come all.
Share it with everyone, there’s plenty more.

The Lions roar “Get out of the way!”
More Elephants and Rhinos are coming through,
To destroy and to build us a way.
The Chimpanzees are jumping and screaming…
Babylonia! Babylonia!
The Animal Garden of Eden!

Big one’s up front please, little one’s behind.
Get off the trail if you get caught short;
Someone please be a guide for the blind.
Make them walk the Conga in a straight line,
Like you were taught before.

Hello Rabbits.  Feeling savage?
The Deaf need directing, but they just won’t hear of it.
We need you to keep them in line and on time;
Do you think you can manage?
Will do Noah (The Kangaroo),
The way we breed, we could Rabbit surf them around Egypt,
If you asked us to.

Mr. Giraffe, could you please not do that?
You are stopping the sun, from shining on the Cats.
All you Bats, change places with the Cats.
I’d move if I were you, Rats.

Foxes and Weasels, go down the side.
You are used to cross country; you don’t need to follow the line.
Badgers, Moles, Shrews and Field Mice,
Stop playing with the Worms.
Take the underground; it’s dark, but nice.

Vampire Bats!  Stop that!
He may look dead, but he is just very old.
Sorry Mr. Tortoise,
But it’s not their fault they have no soul.

Penguins and Polar Bears, stand behind the Elephants,
When they wash themselves with water.
All the Sea Creatures took another route,
To get to the Babylonian border.
Heaven for all Animals, such a beautiful sight.
Not one bar to be seen…It is paradise.

It has Roaches and Bird droppings and no view of the Sea.
It has a jungle, trees, fresh air and the animals are free.
Free to breed and free to catch disease;
Free to live or die, depending on their destiny.

Now ten thousand years later,
A Babylonian Paradise is still thriving…
Not a machine, not a cage,
Not a human in sight…it is truly amazing.

Babylonia : Part One - Noah the Kangaroo

And so it was written:
The one who shall come.
The one who shall free all the animals!
And take them all home!

Babylonia was shown to a Kangaroo named Noah,
In a dream he had in the middle of his life.
His body shook and he kicked his love out of bed;
She jumped up and hit her head,
On the ceiling and then she began to cry.

As she stood there weeping,
She couldn’t believe what she was seeing.
Noah raised to his feet, in the middle of his dream.
He walked outside and she followed him, but she could not see,
That Noah was not alone, as he walked down to the sand.
For three days and nights, he wrote his words using his hands.

His family had thought he’d lost his mind,
For he never opened his eyes to write.
They thought he was sleep walking;
But somehow, his words in the sand began talking.

They spoke of a Heaven for all animals;
His wife brushed her tail through some of his work
And called him a fool.
But by the end of the story, Noah had gained an audience
And they all gave him a round of applause,
When he woke from his dream, as they could see he was serious.

The Kangaroo named Noah,
Was going to show them the way.
Babylonia had sent them all a calling;
Noah had shown them all their fate.

Our destiny lies to the east;
A place of adventure and mystery.
Our new home to enjoy with heart,
Our destiny is calling for us to make a new start.

Let us all leave this place,
Let us all leave this human race;
To their man made apocalypse,
I will show you the way.

And so it began…
The journey of Noah
And every other animal;
‘The Journey to Babylonia.’

The Animal Paradise,
To escape the ruined jungle life.
A new jungle awaits us all,
At the end of the line.

Let me direct the Elephants and Rhinos,
To clear us all a path to Heaven, from this Hell.
Let us all feast!
Let us all mate!
Let us all sleep a slumber of the Gods themselves.
Let us all enjoy our Heaven.
Let me show you, it is worth the wait…

Winter

The cold wind blows, through the bones in my body.
A shiver down the spine makes you shake a gesture or sign,
Of a forthcoming winter; the cold is in the air.

So enjoy the sunshine, before the cold dark days;
The winter of discontent.
The eerie sound of an icy wind, a time for you to lament;
That the warm days, are no longer.
This summer has come and gone.

So wrap yourself up, nice and warm,
Before you catch your Death.
The bleakness of the moral, is innocently lost,
But the cold air gives form, to a heated breath.

So stay indoors, where it’s safe and warm
And keep the heat trapped;
For the heat that you have imprisoned,
Beneath the blanket on your bed,
Will soon become,
This winter’s closest friend.

Our world

Falling from the top of the world,
Looking for a parachute.
Once we were Gods, now food for the worms,
Soon we will become obsolete.

Humankind has had its time,
A waste if ever there was one.
Humankind is the biggest lie.
Our world? We don’t deserve one.

We rip it up and tear it down,
We take and give nothing back.
We wonder why our time here is up,
We’ve mined the world of all it had.

But it’s too late to stop the extinction,
What this world needs is a mass evacuation.
The only way to save this world,
Is to leave for good and leave it to the animals.

Memories.

There is an old grey man sitting on the floor,
Looking at his reflection in the mirror.
He thinks to himself: What could have been?
What could I have changed?
To change the past and the things that I've seen?

No man deserves to see, the things we saw.
A collective unit, marching to war.
Thankfully now, I don't recall it all,
Just the men that I had killed.
I saw them all, with that look on their face,
That look that just makes me, feel so ashamed.

They were just kids, the same as us,
All just playing, at being soldiers,
All knowing the seriousness, of it all
And still all of us, were willing to ****,
Or be killed, by another kid with a rifle,
Just like the first one, that I killed.

But here's my best friend, to make me feel better,
Hello, Jack Daniels, I'll just get you a glass.
Ah that's better, I can't think anymore,
I think I'll just change the video and watch something else.

Oh what's this in here, Saving Private Ryan?
Oh, I haven't seen this in a while.
I'll just put it on and pour another whisky
And after this, I'll go to sleep.

Hmm, that's better, time for a drink I think,
Ah good Ol' Jack, always a good drink.
Oh it's six in the morning; I'd better get up,
Think I'll have a drink and then go for a walk.

But first I'll have a drink and see what's on the Telly,
Where's the ice, **** this weather.
Ah good Ol' Jack, let's see what's in the video shall we?
Oh it's that film I put on last night, when I fell asleep.

Saving Private Ryan?  Oh I haven't seen this in a while.
But remembering the lads, always makes me smile.
I'll just put it on and pour another whisky,
Then maybe I'll have a little snooze,
Before I get something to eat.

Friends are there for you.

I am only here to comfort you.
I only came because you needed me to.
So please my friend, do not push me away;
Please my friend, ask me to stay.

I surely could help you, with your pain.
I surely could come and save the day.
If you need me, then here I am;
If you want some peace and quiet, then I understand.

But I shall not leave you, until I see you smile;
With a true feeling, of denial.
Ignore all the pain, that you feel…
Your wounds have now begun to heal.

Watching birds fly high in the sky;
Oh why, oh why, can I not fly?
The freedom they have is clear to see.
They do as they please and they seem to be free.

I wish I could be up there on cloud nine,
Above the world, flying so high.
They dash and dart and they swoosh so sublime,
Way up there in the great blue sky.

Blameless

If you want to be glad then be glad,
If you want to be sad then be sad.
If you want to be altogether happy inside,
Then don’t rely on a man.

We are bad to the bone and bad for your soul,
You should just let go and save yourself.
You are blameless and you should go.
We are the nameless and we only care about ourselves.

If you need to be loved then find love,
If you need to be alone then be alone.
If you want to be altogether a better person,
Then delete his number off your phone.

You are bad at lying and we see right through;
We just let you believe we don’t see what you do.
We allow you to believe we will be here forever,
But we are already looking for the exit and a way to sever,
This chain that binds us together in love,
Because to us there is nothing more important than trust.

If you want to be real then be real,
If you want to be fake then be a fake.
If you don’t want to believe the words that I say,
Then have yourself a nice day.

Life goes on
Aa Harvey Apr 2018
Life goes on.

When I found you sat crying, on that park bench,
With the soggy tissue pressed against your nose.
I simply said excuse me and you told me to leave you alone;
But I’m sorry I cannot, simply walk away.
You see this is such a beautiful day!

No it’s not; it’s horrible.  I’ve just lost the man that I love.
He left me for some woman he met down the pub.
Was he there a lot without you?
Yes, I had to take care of the kids
And clean the house after work
And do a million other things.

So what did he do?
He worked in an office.
So why could he not help you to look after the kids?
Or help with the housework?
Or just do something?
Well he had to go to the pub, to take care of business.

Oh really?  What was her name?
What!?  Are you trying to be funny!?
No; I was simply trying to say, look Honey,
It’s clear to see you’re better off without him;
He obviously didn’t care enough to not go out drinking.

But what will I do now?
I can’t afford to pay a babysitter, to look after the kids,
While I go out to work;
They’ll never see me.
I only work part time so I can spend time with them.
How old are they now?
Timmy’s 6 and Tommy is 7.

Timmy and Tommy?  That must get confusing?
Only occasionally, when they make me scream.
Oh what could they do that could make you scream?
You know what boys are like;
Causing havoc and breaking things.

Maybe that’s because they had no Father figure,
To discipline them?
Oh he did keep them in line; well, when he was around.
And what of when he wasn’t?  Did you discipline them?
I couldn’t make them cry; they’re only six and seven.

So they saw you were a push over?  Just like your Husband did?
Who the Hell are you to call me a push over!?
You don’t even know me!
You’re quite right, I don’t know you;
But I’ve seen your type before in many a picture
And the only advice I can give to you, is to change in the future.

Look you’re better off without your Husband,
He’s a spineless ****.
It seems to me you were the only one willing to work,
To make the marriage last,
Even though he cared more about his pint glass.
So come on with me now
And let me show you another garden path.

What do you mean?  Things can be different to this?
Of course they can my Dear; you too can live in bliss.
All you have to do is change a few things.
Then this time next year, when I see you here,
You will no longer be crying.

You’ll be watching your kids play
And you’ll have a new man at side.
You don’t know that, you’re not God;
You can’t predict the future of my life.
You see that’s where you’re wrong Dear;
I am the man you call God.
I’ve just come along to see you
And to offer you a helping hand with your lot.

Oh yeah, of course you are and I’m the ****** Mary!
Well then Mary, shall we begin your new journey?
The first destination is the school to fetch the kids;
Then I intend to change your life
And give you the strength to live,
A happy life full of joy.
My dear take my hand and we shall go fetch the boys.

A year later, I returned to that park
And guess what;
I was right…
Mary had healed her broken heart.

Flying on forever

I’m flying on the edge forever,
Searching for a brighter future.
I can see the picture of an angel inside my mind
And now I have to find a way to meet her.

Burning out, fading away; love must come to save the day.
Shooting stars only crash into their own grave.
I will build her a house we can live in and age;
If only I could take her to it, then maybe things would change.

Some of us lie, some of us fly;
Some of us are living on borrowed time.
The future is not certain to be there when we arrive,
But the past is firmly in the past where it belongs,
So please just let me get on with my life.

We are in search of a forever love, forever more!
Fallen love angels who scorn are left behind;
Forever alone in fields of thorns, left alone to mourn.

There is a dust storm up ahead, so I must look my best,
Because when I do finally meet her, my love I will confess.
Eventually she will see me appearing through the mist;
I cannot allow this chance of true happiness to be missed.

Remember Me.

Lay me down on a bed of roses,
For my heart has ceased to beat.
My mind shall no longer wander to and fro,
For I must go to my eternal sleep.

If I succeeded in anything,
Then praise the Heaven’s above.
For I was just a mortal man,
In search of his true love.

If I triumphed and barriers overcame,
Then speak of me with pride, for I was just another name.
Another one who died and if I managed to affect your heart,
In the years you had known me;
Then cry for me as I depart,
But never weep because without me you are lonely.
For I am with you, always my friend,
So say see you later, not goodbye at the end.

For it is only a matter of time,
Before we meet again
And then once again you shall have me.
So fight your way through all the pain.

Escape from mourning and live life free,
For every night a hero must fall
And tonight my love, I was chosen to be,
Taken to a higher plateau, way above this world;
To rest in peace, alongside God.

In Heaven I shall wait for you
And once again we shall be reunited.
For love conquers any distance,
That life and death may hold between us.

All that, which is now
And all that, which will be
And all that, which has come before…

With fortune eyes, inside a crystal ball mind;
I found my destination, as I heard the call,
While the others remained blind.
Tell us no lies, to make the truth memorable.
When will be the day that our love will end?
Or when will we see that we are inseparable?

Him

Him
Him

I and I alone can never be called a clone,
Of a man that I am, for it is here that I stand
And alone I stand telling you of a plan,
That was formed inside a mind;
Skip a line or tell it twice.

Never good enough to just give up,
Never going to give a second look,
At the man who disagrees, who is he?
Who am I?  Just a man passing by.
Side by side we live this life,
But we are very different, he and I.

What am I to become?
Just another falling sun?
I pass the time by writing rhymes,
To a beat; I move my feet.
To a sound my thoughts are written down,
As I drown in my own disdain.

Once again, once again, never again will I be the same.
Light the fire inside my brain, let it burn; let it show,
I am real and I am a ghost.
At my best I am still in a mess,
But nobody knows, because nobody spoke.
As the silence fills the room, the door closes with a boom!
The lights are turned out now and all that is left is the gloom.

Take it back, I cannot give it;
Words written down are no longer secret.
Who has the key and where do they keep it?
Isn’t knowledge for us all?  Tell me where do they hide it?

Feed on words; take them in, fool the world with a grin.
Nobody knows the pain I keep within;
Let my words creep under your skin.
I am a fire, inside a truth telling liar and he needs to breathe me out.
Strike a chord with a clout, keep it in or let it out,
Just do not let me see you again; with me or without.

Shatter glass, show my mind,
There is nothing left to find.
This is it; all I am is just a man with a plan,
An idea formed long ago.
Still time ticks by and nobody knows,
Who I am or what I want;
I want to change but not confront,
For he is standing by,
With that look in his eyes.
He is a stranger,
As am I.
The man in the mirror is the man that I fear.
So I make him disappear by turning out the light.

It was just my imagination
Aa Harvey Apr 2018
It was just my imagination.

In all the worlds that I have seen,
The sun’s rays have never shone so bright,
As they do right now on this planet of ours.
I pray to see this day last throughout the night.

Eternal sunshine is needed to reveal,
The lady I see in the depths of my mind.
Her voice speaks of echoes of fondness,
My fond memories of love are lost; never again will I be healed.
But if I could find a lady like her,
Maybe I could find a way to once more smile.

I wish I could love her and once more see the ladies smile;
No tears does she ever shed, for she is strong of heart.
She is capable of inner strength, whilst I am fragile
And forever locked within my own broken heart.

A gift to her I wish to bring,
As a peace offering; she is equity.
The lady I have never met drifts into my soul
And makes herself at home.
Hopefully, permanently; not just temporarily.

She is Gothic of soul and dresses like a Goth
And that will draw me towards her always,
In a desperate search for love.
She is the last hope of the hopeless,
Who has been ready to give up.
I dream of her when I am awake
And she swims inside my blood.

She floats inside a vessel; she is created by me inside my brain.
She breathes oxygen into my lungs
And sends love flowing through my veins.
She is a figment of my imagination,
Who I am desperate to somehow make become real;
Just so I could once more feel loved.  Just so I could once more feel.

I want to embrace her,
But she is a non-entity who is out of reach.
Still I am searching for a way to meet her,
Each time I go to sleep.

I am thinking about her as I lay in my bed,
But she knows nothing of me and she never will.
My thoughts will be about her, until I forget.
She will spring back into my forethought’s,
Whenever my body is still.

And still I shall love her with every ounce of my heart;
For she is my last sense of light, as I drift off into the dark.
Soon she is gone from my head;
I tried hard to not forget,
But I can think of this kind of love no longer,
For she is real only inside my imagination and not inside my bed.

My ghost of a love drifts away from my attempts at amity.
She floats away into the never to become just a memory.
This is a tragedy.
She is a vision, lost way up in the ether,
Disappearing like a rocket ship shot into space.
She was here once, now my sweetheart has evaporated
And left my soul without a trace.

Gone like the wind, she has blown through my heart.
I felt her breeze blow through my life
And now she and I shall forever remain apart.

My substitute

If I was to be published then I would have no need for a wish.
If I held my own book in my hands,
Then that would mean that I had accomplished something.
If you were able to feel my poetry,
Then you would find me smiling.
I would always be smiling when I met up with you;
If only I could be.
If I ever succeed, then please accept a thank you from me.
If I never make it, then my existence will have counted for nothing.

Only time will tell if I ever did anything right.
With you on my side, I will at least have an eye,
On my future writing; you are my reason to try.
I hope one day I will be able to write something that everybody likes.

Fly on a wire; dance on the moon.
Sky dive into a career; parachute.
Become a light up in the sky.
Your name in brights; I love seeing through your mind’s eye.
You see all that I could be;
You believe in me like I never did.
I hope I do not disappoint;
All I have ever been is me.

Now through rose-tinted eyes I look at life.
So sad to be lost without a wife.
The one thing I always wanted, I will never have…
Please do not be sad.
I am where I am meant to be.
I may not have love,
But I love poetry…
It is my substitute for love and all other things.

Alone / not alone.

I saw red roses today.
I saw a tear drop too.
I cannot decide which moved me more…

I…love…you.

I heard the news of the victory;
I heard the world had been lost.
I heard they spoke of peace,
As they worked out what it was.

If a man has a battle plan,
Then you can be sure that he is lost;
The plan will never work.

If a man has a tank,
You will forever be counting the cost,
Against the decision’s worth.

If a man is a man, he would not need to fight,
But I am a man and I am never right where I belong.

I pick up a telephone.
The line is busy,
E.T. is phoning home.
Where he intends to go,
He would not tell us;
I just, don’t, know.

All I know is, I am alone,
When I am not alone.

The Phantom of the Opera.

It may sound strange, but the books don’t work
And I am all out of luck.
I would start again if I could meet another Her,
But that time has all been loved.

A second chance at a once true love.
I am not just another fish in the sea.
I would give love back, if I only could
And then, maybe, you could love me.

Never to be attained,
Only seen through sunglasses and reflections of yourself.
If we are both the same, then you too cannot be saved,
From this self-inflicted, back-firing love spell.

I am cursed, to speak in verse,
Like a haunting message from beyond the grave.
Without love I would never have tried to be heard
And you would never have known my name.

Some people say love lets us know,
But I think it blinds my eyes.
When I am old and grey, the me you think you owe,
Will be a long time gone, up into the sky.

I desire no thanks, because I took a chance,
That the words would fall into place.
I am a selfish humane man, who never learned how to dance,
Because of my Phantom of the Opera face.

Seven day in June

Until the wheels falls off,
Until we lose the lot,
Until the angels tears drop,
I will be here in your arms.

I am a heart, in a galaxy of stars,
How pretty they are;
I have no car!

Until the air is no longer, free to breathe,
Until the land is overcome, by the sea,
Until they find all the cures, to every disease,
I will be here in your arms.

Surrounded by friends with lies,
With no sight of blue skies,
All we have left to look forward to is eternal nights.
What is it, that we do have?
Take it all back,
Have it all back.
These feelings that I have,
Take them all back.

Until I see the light,
Until I no longer believe,
You and I are worth the fight;
Until the very end of time!
Let me have been without your love forever,
If our love, is truly dying.

If age is all that is left of my life
And all I have left to do, is to write another rhyme,
Then I will write…and I will write
And I will try to do right, until there are no longer stars in the sky.

I will try,
For you.
Until the very end,
Of the very last line.
I will try…
For you.

Now, then, always

Love can change and get better with age,
Or love can die and fade away.
All I know is, love leaves me amazed,
At how many people do it wrong whilst wearing rose tinted glasses
And then they wonder why their love went away.

You've got to ****** love out of the air;
You've got to seize your chance whenever it's near.
You've got to grab that love and say I will be there!
Whenever your lover says: “Why aren’t you here?”

Love is not just for Christmas, it’s a permanent change.
Love is now; love is then and real love is always.
Temporary love does not exist in my fantasy;
So why do I keep wasting time,
On a love that will never sustain me?

As the rain pours down and all the people are indoors,
I walk down Main Street, under my umbrella, alone with the world.
The moon is full, the air is cold,
But I am at peace in this town where nobody ever goes.

They only pass on through, as they think there is nothing here to do,
But there is so much to be seen, if they would only take the time;
But nobody ever has the time,
Because as they say “time flies!”
And this place is no fun, when you have money and you are young;
They all seem to be…in such a rush…

The other old timers watch them all just pass on by.
This old town may not have those alluring big city lights,
But it does have its charms, its people and a picturesque beauty.
If only they had the time to see;
But their minds are closed and they all have some other place to go,
So they will never know of this town
And it’s charming folks…

There goes Taylor-Rose; I guess her parents wanted twins,
But she has no siblings, so I guess she is their blessing.
Their pride and joy, they spoke about long ago,
When they too were young and they got hitched in the snow.
It sure was cold that day, but the sun was so bright;
They said they could not wait until the summer time.
A shotgun wedding; a lasting romance.
It’s been twenty years now, for Taylor-Rose’s Mom and Dad.

There’s the old General Store
And there’s the Post Office next door.
The Doctors Surgery is three doors down,
Past the Pharmacy and The Needle and Thread Store.
At the end of Main Street, there is a sign with more names;
I turn left behind it, to get to my old house,
But I am not heading that way.
Sweet Melissa is making our supper at home again tonight;
She is so wonderful to me; I’m a lucky family guy.

I remember when we met; I had just arrived in town.
I was just passing through like all the others…
And then my car broke down.
The mechanic was busy and then he had to send off for some parts,
So I booked myself into a room at the hotel and there she was…

A housekeeper with such beauty, like none I had ever seen before.
Her parents worked in the hotel too back then;
Her Mom told me my room was on the first floor.
Eventually I asked Melissa out to dinner;
I was a loser back then, but she turned me into a winner.

Now as I turn the right way into Lovers Avenue,
I can see Melissa at home; her silhouette moves in to view.
I’ve brought her some roses, they are not red; they are blue;
They are artificial, of course, but that just means they will last longer
And they will symbolize our love…
It will never get old,
It will only grow stronger.
I should tell Melissa that, I guess it sounds kind of nice;
But I will still give her the card Madison wrote and I simply signed.

She sure is clever, that Madison in the flower shop;
She always writes a verse of poetry for Melissa, from me,
When I cannot find the right words, to say what I want.
I’m just a simple kind of man, with love and our anniversary on my mind,
So I thought I would remind Melissa that I truly love her…
I’m so lucky to be her guy.

Three knocks on the door and “I’ll be right there.”
My love opens the door
And there is the smell of freshly baked bread in the air.
“It’s nearly done; did you forget your key?
Oh are those for me?” She smiles
And I go weak at the knees.

“I didn’t use my key, because I wanted to recreate our first date;
Do you remember me nervously knocking on your door?”
“Oh; the memories.
And all these years later, you are still…my love.”
“I’m sorry I am late.”
“Nonsense, you’re just in time.”  She smiles at me
And after supper and dessert, we are both still smiling…

I have to go now, for my time is all just for Melissa…
So long memory lane; I hope you enjoyed the memories.
I sure am glad I didn’t just drive on through;
Just think what would have happened, if I had never met her…

A reason to be

Eyes open wide, I am waiting on time;
Patience is not a virtue I possess.
I need a guiding light, come let it shine;
My soul is aching for a love, this I must confess.

Been here so long, hiding behind,
Anything I think can protect me from living this life.
My hopes and my dreams were up in the sky,
But now they are here in my hands and now is my time.

Pictures still form inside my head.
Wishes are wasted dreams of a lesser man.
If I can’t give you my all, then you will not get my best,
So I dive into my mind and when I return I am a better man.

The love that I desire stands in front of me;
The love that I crave is my magnetic need.
The love that I had, it was not really real;
But the love that I will find, it will cure me.

We all hope to be loved, so why can’t I?
Why can I not be the one to make you smile?
If all that I have left is this one last chance,
Then take my heart from my poetry and let me be worthwhile.

The darkness has gone and the sun shines;
The warmth of your love is all the empathy I seek.
I needed you to become my new romantic romance.
You give me more than a chance;
You give me hope
And a reason to be.

Farm life.

There is a barn on this farm;
Personally, I think that it has character and charm.
Other people’s opinions may differ from mine,
But I won't allow them to waste my good time.

This time is mine to waste away,
So who are you to blemish this beautiful day?
Song birds sing as morning breaks in two;
Split the night apart and let the sunlight shine through.

If time is all we have, then we can be poor and in love.
We may not have any money,
But we can still enjoy the country.

The cows are grazing and the farmer is blazing,
The hay in the fields, he no longer needs to ball.
I ask him why he came here
And he tells me it is because he heard the call.
The call of nature; the sheep are saying baa.
He doesn't predict the future, but we both know that one day,
This place of tranquility will be overtaken by a city full of cars.

Written in the stars.

In darkness you find me,
With words on my mind.
The light has been stolen by nightfall
And I,
Can no longer function, so in a bed I lie.
I am in search of a dreamer;
I am in need of more time.

I am in need of distraction, salvation and many more;
I ask for nothing from you, whilst I give you my all.
I am forever entombed inside this man I have become.
My mind is awake, my tired body aches
And I am in need of your love.

I offer you my heart to cherish and to hold;
For I am the thief of the key to your heart.
I wish to unlock your innermost thoughts,
For they are made of pure gold.
You are becoming more and more beautiful,
As each moon departs.

I see us in a future, walking along autumn leaf covered lanes.
We are hand in hand, smiling and laughing
And we have each found our love.
The tree’s overhead keep us sheltered from any rain,
That a dark cloud above may befall us;
We are young no more.

As the grey tints our hair, we reminisce about our youth.
We were young once, but no longer,
But we are still telling the truth.

As our eyes fade and our legs begin to ache,
I whisper to you:
I love you now and always.

Our lives were entwined by the weaver of loves loom
And forever we shall be locked together,
Inside this romance of ours.

I have read it in the tea leaves…
That it was written in the stars.

Apples in orchards

Apples in orchards crashing like snowflakes to the ground,
They fall into the baskets to be eaten now.
They have ripened and at last we can taste their juices;
This fruit of the loom brings pleasure to our mouths.

Vineyards drunk dry by drunken Mediterranean’s,
Create a wine so divine, you would swear it was a God send.
There is no end of pleasure to be found in this land of ours;
Sip the wine and spit it out and then while away the hours.

Summer shines upon us, as we are drunk in love;
We have tasted her, we are with her and she is the one.
The one who brings us happiness when all else is dark.
She brings us the warmth we crave; she is euphoria for the heart.

Dance for your lover and take off your clothes
And you will see the smile on their face.
Love each other truly and who knows,
You could grow apples in your orchard and savour the taste.

Love is your apple and your life is your orchard;
It takes two to grow an apple, so come on now don’t be a dullard.
Smother them in love and your orchard will grow
And at last you will have a place you can feel at home.

Connected.

I need to empty the clutter from inside my mind;
So time after time, I write these lines.
I empty my brain so I can go to sleep,
But when I look at the clock it is half past three.

Beam me up Scotty, to a cloud in the sky,
So I can kiss this night goodbye.
I’m still counting sheep,
To pass the time.

I need to upload all the thoughts inside my mind;
Because this way of clearing my head,
Takes up way too much time.
Just let me be a plug-in baby;
Connect me directly into the internet
And set my thoughts free from inside me.

Electronically discharge me from this chore of a life,
Because inside me I find something else I need to write.
Disconnect me from my mind so I can get some sleep;
A day dream never screams, but this night time is purgatory.
Thoughts are shouting at me, so I must write to find quietude.
The wires inside my head were split,
But thankfully now I have improved.

Emotions in motion
Aa Harvey Apr 2018
Emotions in motion

Emotions in motion,
Changing from frozen to broken,
To joyful and delirious!
There are words to be spoken.

I’ve been up and down and messed around,
But now I am found in the dirt with her.
Her love gives me wings and lets me fly in the clouds;
Her love brings me crashing down into the dirt.

I say to you on this cold dark night,
The pain inside your heart will be gone by morning light.
I don’t believe you, myself; I have already seen you lie.
You told me I’d be happier; you said it would be alright.
That was only spoken in anger; take my words with a pinch of salt.
I just need you to believe in something;
If it goes wrong, that’s not my fault.

Oh my God she is beautiful!
She is a Goddess I must impress.
Her wings have fallen off now;
Now I see her for what she truly is and it leaves me depressed.

I was afraid this would happen;
She is a memory now, soon to be forgotten.
Love is a wrecking ball to the heart
And all that was beautiful shall become rotten.

Jealousy makes you fear your lover;
Afraid they will go off in search of another.
Shame and pride shall never be on the same side;
One body has one, her body has the other.

And oh my God her body; let me be bold with my thoughts!
The touch of her upon my body; her face to my touch.
She made me smile, so I shall make her smile too,
Because when all is said and done, she is loved.

Is she good or is she dangerous,
I just can’t decide.
I wish I was a robot, without feeling,
Then I would no longer feel the need to smile.

I am sad because love has always been without care.
I am a coward; no surprise there,
But I want to be courageous and feel love again.
I am confused and only feel weariness;
But I am happy she is my ball and chain.

Journey

The yellow brick road stretches out in front of me;
I think it’s time to go fetch Dorothy.
I am the Tin Man whose heart has been stolen;
I am the fearful lion who can no longer roar.
I am a scarecrow without a brain, alone in a field.
I am what I am; my love life is no more.

Gone is the goodness of past lovers and love.
All that remains is a shell; I am a husk.
I am a ghost inside my mind’s prison;
I see many colours inside a prism.
I am somewhere over the rainbow;
I must make a decision.

What next on this journey?
I listen to Journey.

I’ll take the midnight train going anywhere…

It takes one step forward to start a thousand mile journey.

Stars

The stars align when I breathe in your light;
You allow me to become what I want to be, when you become mine.
There is just you and I on this planet of ours
And in your eyes the stars shine.

Everybody is a ghost, just a memory to us;
They can only be seen but never touched.
They can be brought back into existence, but only if we trust.
A higher being is said to have created the stars from dust.

There have been lights in the sky for what seems like a lifetime;
Forever they have been there and there they will stay.
One day we may see a change in the skyscape;
But nothing has changed in an age.

Pain is no longer welcome here

Love had died and was reborn in your arms;
We are the ****** generation of forgotten sons.
There’s no need for teary eyed pain or to hurry;
Take your time and enjoy your life, with no worries.

It’s just a part of the process;
It’s a learning curve.
Each heart that is broken, heals
And eventually you get what you deserve.

Watching raindrops fall down the windows;
Thinking of how this used to make me feel.
I used to be sad when the dark rain clouds would come,
But eventually even I will find love too, so I will be sad no more.

No matter where you are on Earth, my love…
We are both staring at the same sun.
