No-one in our community celebrates Eid alone,
We gather in masjid for Eid prayers,
After majlis we greet each other
HAPPY EID MUBRAK
Then we have a hearty  breakfast in a sitting of eight people around a big steel plate(thal),
With variety of dishes and hot piping tea,
We start with vermicelli sevkhurmo,
A must for Eid ul fitr,
The rich and the poor celebrate as one.  
This Eid I decided to give a personal touch,
I didn't send posts of Eid Mubarak,
Instead when I received Eid Mubarak posts,
I replied with emojis and love and thank you stickers,
Adding wishes like:
You are in my prayers,
Thank you for sharing your happiness with me,
You mean a lot to me.

Sometimes I am good,
Sometimes I can be bad,
I enjoy life ,
I enjoy being driven in fast cars,
I can still put my leg in my underwear,
Whilst standing,
And not lose my balance,
Also I don't exercise  a lot,
But I do lots of accupressure points and tapping,
To service my internal organs.
I enjoy making money,
But I feel sad when it leaves me,
Somehow my fist closes tightly over it.
My daughter says,"It's like taking blood out of a stone,
It doesn't mean I am a miser,
May be its a phobia what would I do if I didn't  have any or,
It's just that I am one for financial discipline
I would give my children just enough pocket money,
So they would know its value.

My son and daughter-in-law were there for me hands on,
After my release my son took me to their home,
And  as I got better I offered to help around the house,

The birds are hungry,
They will enjoy your meal,
And your dad can have the extra portion of your curry,
I am proud of you.
If dad had to punish or ground us,
Silently she made sure he had done the needful,
Or he was grounded from entering their bedroom.
Mum was a woman of few words and lots of action.

To lunch with my pretty girlfriend,
It was bowled over by her,
Immediately it started to flirt with her,
Flickering it's metaphors coyishly at her ,
Referring to her as a rose bud in blossom .
She blushed shyly as the corner of her mouth broke into a delicious smile,
Before I had a chance,
It read my poetry I had wriiten for her,
Adding  sweet nothings to it,
It was as if Emily Dickison was reciting poetry,
As it finished the last verse,
She clutched it in her hands,
Tears of joy in her moist eyes,
Then she turned to me and softly asked,
"Can I take it home with me,"
Leaving me no choice but to nod,
My poetry had beaten me in the game of love.

Ours is a cold empty house,
Theirs is a small warm home,

As a student I was very talkative,
Sometimes I would talk nonstop,
And disrupt the class,
Exasperated my teacher told me to write an essay,"Why I enjoyed talk8ng.
So I wrote:
When mum was pregnant with me,
She loved to nap under our mango tree with a book in the afternoon,
My grandmother would  caution her not to sit under any tree as  suspicious witches lived there,
But mum would not heed her.
Now a good talkative witch lived in that tree
And as mum napped  we would talk for hours giggling and laughing
Sometimes grandmother would call out to mum for tea,
But the witch made sure mum was in deep sleep,
The witch enjoyed my company
You see she was the only one left in the tree,
Her family had gone to live in the baobab tree,
So she felt lonely.
All those months I had become a chatterbox,
Even after birth I started to coo all the time,
Bewitched by a witch I am ma'am.
