Windblown bare branches
whistle near creek and the fields.
Soon ice cover pond.

like the Church bells are tolling death.
Shorter daylight make me sad
and remind me of days that are no more.

Soon meadow will be frozen
Snow and ice covered.

Thorns and briars *****
but blossoms are very sweet
as is the perfume.

In meadows green and lush
I often see butterfly on graceful wing
Going about through the day
Flitting flower to flower.
To surprise me along paths
Ladybug rest upon my shoulder
Without a sound as butterfly
But so tiny and colourful
Then flies away home.
Ah, near the closing of day
Firefly light up the meadow so dim
With flickering light so soothing
Night curtains close but warmth of firefly lingers.
Before going to sleep I watch firefly
And listen to nature's nocturne.

Black-eyed Susan too.
There are many different
beautiful flowers by stream.

In the forest there do dwell
A huge grey hornet nest.
Boy thought would be much fun
To hit it like a ball with all his best.
Much to surprise a cloud of huge bees flew
Into deep water of creek he sling
So hornet at him could not sting
It was too late for he had twenty-two!*
