tranquil Dec 2013
my humble coat of truth
as smile of pouring skies
which moment dots the scape
curves upon a prize

for speaking tints of red
rainbows in disguise
flashing trod her dreams
kiss her sky goodbye

linger as fog of dead
which seems to keep alive
through strings of steely charms
memories of yesternight

i ache as boiling pain
as pleasure fills my eyes
seep in the tears of past
as moments tranquil fly

i risk the heights of sun
through rumblings of our lives
what breaks upon as rain
as poem it survives

if love was all it took
to bring a soul to life
imagine plight of death
how haters could survive
tranquil Dec 2013
sinking echoes lined upon
the purple skin of night
past a curtain of her dreams
strewn into lumpy skies

a wave of solemn emptiness
a taste of seeping prayer
be melt into a blue of dreams
and banished to despair

truly this core of twisted mind
karma in disguise
feeds upon my every pore
and trace the stony eyes

you linger on as traces still
vignette of phantom love
but into the shades of gray
chased upon by world

yet know my muse the arms of sea
were made to hold the sky
when brims of time fade to dust
my love shall survive

a melody of life
beyond the slippery breaths
whispers a lullaby
falls in her sweet caress

the foliage of dream
on clouds of heavens lie
to bloom as sky of love
my tree of paradise
tranquil Nov 2013
once upon a stolen time
skies swore love to the earth
in a sight where all flew past
the splendor of a sailing romance

a passion so pristine

ever gentle as morning dew
which surrenders to the first rays
of a yawning sun toddling into
the laziest hour of day's fabric

when hope glittered as stars

and as formless light of souls relieved to be
strewn into the lap of merciful
enchantress content with her creation
whose world shone inspired on its own

an era where people breathed felicity

where foamy seas bent into a restless
swell of dreamy clouds
and smiling rainbows melted into perfume
drops of silver rain

when a grand pearl was born

the child of deepest seas
a gleaming myth so pure and unreal
born in nethers of the grand ocean
a spheric orb of life itself

whom the heavens embraced

as a savior of those lost within
the fading embers of abstraction
frolicking amidst solemn tranquil stars
shiny bright on the celestial parapet

the mortals named her moon

and furnished their barren lives with
colorless spread of her golden hair
traced along the milky laugh of joy
kissing tender skins of lovers asleep

but pinched upon by shores of neglect

lay the boiling heart of a forgotten god
leaning into the envious whispers of venomous deceit
sprung out of flaming ego of the great sun
overpowered by hate for his adversary

and the grand ocean who birthed her

so he raged upon like a nebulous explosion
drying up colossal seas and rivulets alike
while mortals bore the brunt of a deity
beneath all fiery blunders of infernal damnation

they all gazed in horror

to what became of once cerulean infinite ocean
now a volatile geyser of bloodied soup
a serene cradle of life incinerated by jealousy
amidst the dying cries of mercy

laid upon the ears of great mother

who rushed to her frightened children like
an avalanche of uplifting spells
as solace from the obliviating torrents of heat
above a crumbling earth

veiled in her merciful majesty

she called upon a parliament of beasts and men
starry denizens of the shivery black sky
ghostly natives of burning forests
restless roses of ashen hearts

as so were they all summoned

"for all ye did defile
with strength i lend to thee
reduce to shadow dust
spread thy cruelty
dispel a coat of fire
upon my hallowed sea
betray the rule of stars
but so mercilessly

for 'gainst the eye of war
ye sinned with hateful fright
and shall be doomed to hell
till life's last surmise
but if there be some more
ye need to speak awhile
speak aloud thee must
for this be thy time"

and so the mighty sun bared his heart

"for if i had a choice
sin i shall again
to breathe a demon's soul
engrossed with deathly pain

as when i saw her first
the light of purest love
allure of million songs
beaming anthems of

poetry set in sight
in fountains of her sleep
amid the faintest wish
of day we two shall meet

i ran and ran across
the length of starlit skies
in search of moon again
her burnished sheeny smile

only to learn the sea
would mask her in the day
in frigid soundless depths
until i fade away

spiralled across the space
i burnt to nothingness
a billion years in wait
perished to longingness

for choice was what i had
i chose to hate the world
one that does have no heart
one that does know no love

for if i had a choice
sin i shall again
just as the ocean sinned
and bring my soul this pain"

seeking out for the shattered cascades of his mind

the great mother did reach to the floundering soul
of a sun craving for one more sight of his beloved
all so distant as a tale of treasures lost
to the perpetual labyrinth of time

"of what shall thus be named
the blush of myriad glows
beneath the noble day
before the nights of pure

let there be a spell
where sun may see the moon
chisel his heart through clouds
scroll upon his tune

a time where them two shall
be one as dew and morn
ripple across as love
through dusky silhouettes long"

sweet scents of eager hope resurfaced

followed by the serene lush of a green symphony once more
while the sun bent down to touch the topaz glint of water
his beloved emerged riding upon whistling winds from east
once more piercing the restless swell of dreamy clouds

and just as day sank below a border of horizon
two lovers soared into the dreamy sight of each other
for hues of their daring glances tinge every twilight
again with a dream to have their love fulfilled

every day until the end of time.

it refuses to leave
a lashing soaring tide
the frozen etch of past
on ripples of my mind

the shattered reverie
forged into scripted moves
fading out as weeks
yet vivid i assume

which mirrors as a rift
between the sea of love
sandwiched reluctantly
with turgid smiles of

a pair of sunken hearts
dissected by the world
be lost unto our fate
as oceans conceal pearls

across the breadth of life
by breed of hailing wise
who pompously reject
shackle our maiden flight

constrain the gayle till dawn
repress the blooms of time
yet shadowed by romance
still dream along shall i

behope a spring of sun
which fills this yawning void
behold the scents of spring
beneath your cursive smile

to wait upon a day
yearning for misty greens
dressed up in coils of love
until eternity

to ooze a sight of heaven
to bleed a laugh again
even as stale horizons
fervently await

a day which breathes upon
brilliance of tranquil nights
surround a whirl of stars
and kiss our florid sky

as bristling autumns flow
from her dreamy eyes
my maestro shall compose
the adagio of life
tranquil Nov 2013
there was once a man who lived
in burnt rocky hills
village farmer frail and tilt
humble down to strips

and one day his wife fell sick
he took her in his hands
but in path for miles thick
one huge hill did stand

he knew but closest path to town
would take whole day on foot
if it weren't this hill around
get there sooner he could

even though he tried his best
kept his faith alive
yet he failed the time's test
could not save his wife

abruptly in his mind
did one thought arise
through conflicting reasons
to himself he surmised

"there'll always be dreams to live
tears to wipe, things to moan
to witness coiling stillness give
reason to your lonesome tone"

with this thought himself he backed
and let go of his fears
whom neither Gods could distract
he faced the mountain near

a modest hammer in hand
not for once dismayed
unfazed by its candid stand
he stood not once afraid

"for he was just some lunatic
who sold his goats for a chisel
for no man can do such trick
surely its all such drivel"

inch by inch he chipped away
just one stroke a time
when scorching sun endowed the day
heat fueled up his mind

seasons came and seasons went
men who mocked him too
turned to dust who crossed his way
yet he went going through

long before his life would cease
two decades marked his trial
all in sweat on forehead crease
and scratched on time's dial

and then arrived this moment
it surely had to come
for in pools of anguish spent
lilies of faith bear from

speak your will and do your speak
says the farmer's life
say you're strong when you feel weak
marching through your strife

for no paths does life forbid
it takes no account
keep on moving as he did
man who moved the mount
Dashrath Manjhi (1934- 2007) was born into a poor laborer family in Gahlour village near Gaya in state of Bihar, India.

Dashrath Manjhi's wife, Falguni Devi, died due to lack of medical treatment because the nearest town with a doctor was 70 kilometres (43 miles) away from their village. The villagers had to travel all this distance to reach the nearest town, due to the path blocked by a rocky hill.

Dashrath did not want anyone else to suffer the same fate as his wife, so he carved a one kilometer long and 16 feet wide cleft in the hill to form a road through a mountain in the Gehlour hills, working day and night for 22 years from 1960 to 1982.

He did this single handedly only with a rope, chisel and a hammer.

His feat reduced the distance between the Atri and Wazirganj blocks of the Gaya district from 75 km to 1 km, bringing him national acclaim.

He died on August 17, 2007. He was given a state funeral by the government of the state of Bihar.
