Knowledge is there
Reach out and grab it
Enrich your life
Take everything in stride
Keep your passion alive
Have that strong drive
Continue on in your progress
Eventually, you will be a success
It's romance versus the future, chicks,
What sort of guy makes you click?
Is he a loveable kind of dude?
What makes him think he's right for you?
And what do you think about him?
Is it all about that wedding ring?
Is he really such a handsome prince?
Is it more than skin deep, thick?
It's romance versus the future, chicks,
What sort of guy makes you click?
Feedback welcome.
so many are the songs we carry underneath our skin
but can we sing them loud enough to let the people in
We may not have a melody to sanctify each word
let not the noise of every day give bitterness a turn
there's so much black and white to see and ever more to claim
I can't imagine living life will render us the same
we can't be hiding every time we want to be alone
our lives are part of everything we've ever dared to know
and if our knowledge sets us free then let us share it all
no matter where we find ourselves in summer, spring or fall
the coldest days of winter may reflect the ice of time
but every moment frozen still becomes another rhyme
don't chase the seasons just because you know they're always there
for someone else is going to pretend you're not aware
and if your voice is given up another's will be born
with just as much propensity as once you had before
the hats have been created by the heads who never sleep
they only want to take away the way of life you seek
Oh.

On a quest to lose myself
In a wilderness of disbelief
An unknown path to nowhere
Stumbling on the hidden roots
I was brought to my knees

Before a boiling frustration
and held back tears could overwhelm
the forest tendrils tended to me
A blanket of foliage became a womb
As a child, I returned to her

Standing what seemed forever
Above the canopies of trees
Lay a trunk of stone, worn
The marvel was magic
A fallen oak, which was life

The barren love, was feint
And she was still dying
Tending to her children
Even on the brink of extinction
We cried and I woke up.

My dog is such a cat, you know.
Plays laser tag; meows for show!
She’s arf and arf it seems.
She plays with tangled skeins of yearns,
For hours and hours, and then she turns
   To wander through my dreams.

I know they say that pets become
Their owners’ déjà vu’s--in sum,
   Immeasurably similar.
So which is which,
Did my left brain twitch?
Is the dog her man’s exhibitor?

And scientists will disagree
About the causal origins.
   So be it.
Ask **** and Jane.
Ask Spot, and then
   Just simply a-b see it!

Meowff!!

The sun glimpses
through the trees.
Casting a shimmering light
onto a dust covered world.
You can taste it in the air.
War is coming.
But, is it enough
to breathe life into
a race full of martyrs?
Probably not.
Only to those who see
through divine eyes
know the end is near.
By the hands of man,
not God,
the walls of the world
will crumble like Jericho.

Small Happenings.

With thanks to G.M Hopkins, the poet
who inspired this verse
with his famous words of Pied Beauty.
---------------------------------------------------

Let us celebrate little things.
A butterfly's wings.
The solo a blackbird sings.
Mad march-hare flings.
The way one raindrop clings.
Ripe seed-pod pings.
A spider's steel-web strings.

Let us notice the hidden things
First snow-melt springs.
A buzzard's broad flight wings.
Wild mushroom rings.
Bluebell's low bend as it swings.
Falling chestnut dings.
The fresh smell a shower brings.

Let us delight in minute things.
Find joy in small happenings.
