Shaking a fountain pen’s
syrup from fizzing wounds
scarred with another’s words
misspelled of meaning
flavored in temperance
swallowed with pride
flowing through a straw
of sugar-free regrets

I asked the sun to shine on me,
“Maybe tomorrow, I’m busy right now,”
it answered in clouded chuckles,
spitting on me in dampened drips, then
screaming at me in thunderbolt rants
while hiding behind these gloomy charcoal
skies that seem constant above me

So I found a spot on a hill and waited
beneath a large evergreen tree
worried because it was always so dark,
when you appeared, sat down next to me,
put your arms around me and kissed me
and my world became instantly bright

Before long, the sun was asking me to shine on it

“Maybe tomorrow, I’m busy right now” I answered

Don Bouchard
You come to the end of those long roads
You've staggered down,
When you have fallen and can only drag
Your sorry self around;
Remember then that home
Still is the place Frost told us
They have to take us in
When there's no place left
For us to go.

Remember when
You've no where else to turn
Because those bridges you have burned
Will no longer carry you across;
Because you're spurned by friends you've spurned;
Remember then that all's not lost;
A humbled soul still finds
That home remains a waiting friend...
When you remember when....
Remember Home. Remember Family.

When I call you beautiful,
does your world shine
because mine is enchanted
when I look at you?

Beauty breathes in tender sighs,
when yours appears before my eyes

When I call you beautiful,
does your heart skip a beat
because I am expressing
exactly what I see?

Perfection forms reality,
this beauty that you share with me

When I call you beautiful,
do you smile
because if you do,
I shall never stop?

Of sunny days and sights they bring,
your beauty outshines every thing

When I call you beautiful,
do you truly understand that you
are the most beautiful woman
I have ever seen?

*The world and all it does display,
your beauty in my heart shall stay

Stranger Blue
Little pieces of nothing that fall and belong to no one and nowhere. If I find my way into the earth then let the worms and maggots have their share. I'm okay and not. For I am alive but I do not care. Sometimes I think I'm better off dead than to be alone with despair.
Little pieces of nothing that are weathered and worn.
A life never nurtured since the day it was born.
I have not been given so I have nothing to give, but
little pieces of nothing and no reason to live.

Beneath dark storm clouds,
graphic novels cried wholeheartedly
in pencil drawings competing
for front cover status
Asphalt collected mud
hoping shoe prints
formed in patterns like Dali
Wainscoting climbed walls,
chasing ivy vines
to crown molding heights
Kittens chased ***** of yarn
between grandma’s legs in
sagging stockings
on the front porch
And I counted rain drops,
wishing I had paid better
attention in algebra
Then you kissed me
and all became
everything under the sun
I was listening to "Eclipse" by Pink Floyd.

I’m sending the sun,
and I’m chasing the rain
To shine its light
on your day once again

So you may smile
and your morning is fun
I’m chasing the rain
and I’m sending the sun
