Why do you do what you do,
For many it is said for bounty adieu,
To live as long as they can reach,
Held in love that was not preached,

So,
Why do you do what you do,
Made in choice and decisions anew,
Lined with the convictions of the soul and hue,
Written in stone or chanced by clues,

So,
Why do you do what you do,
Searching for a golden cue,
Cure for the soldered shame,
Living towards a blackless blame,

So,
Why do you do what you do,
Is it for naught or is it for thought,
Is it for the righteousness in your mind that you sought?
Why do you remain watching by the side of the road, while they take the gold you have found by the cove, is it not right to not move in time, mimic of a sloth is that all right, then I ask you, why do you do what you do, let me guess for fame fortune and fortudious power asoon?

Nighttime spills over the horizon
staining the land with shadows
its blackness deep and unyielding
but soon arrives a tide of constellations
glistening with the brilliance
of stars unnumbered
they wash over the Earth
bathing all in soft starlight and
cleansing the darkness

If I could I would reach up
and give you the moon
Tied with a string
like a yellow balloon

So when you slept
beneath it's golden beams
You'd see the light
of my love in your dreams

The forest is lush
in its offer of silence
Solitude dwelling
this path that we stroll

Crepe Myrtle borders
of pink satin petals
Trickling quiet
amidst evening’s lull

Lightening bugs linger,
a soft glow emitting
Shining the way
beneath branches above

All we can hear is
the sound of our heartbeats
Tranquil the rhythm
of whispering love

Here in the desert
it's been raining
on and off
            for days
making the succulents and cacti
glisten with wetness
their thick skin sparkles
and catches nature's ironic eye
flowers and plants shine
so much better in the half-grey
Here in the prehistoric depths
Of rocky whitewash and silt
             flash floods rush through
flushing out all guilt
         And inside
a raging storm commences
and I feel so blessed
to be a part of this celebration
my lungs expanding in my chest
I breathe in deep
that fresh purity of air
let it cleanse right through me
from my toes up to my hair
It rushes in my body
taking no prisoners in its force
flows through every vein
cleansing poisons in its course
its power flows into me
washing out this stubborn pain
Turning the confusion
                     into clarity again
From inside subconscious thoughts
           realization thunders
rinsing from my mind
                 the emotional strain
and replacing it with euphoric wonders
Come, my raging desert tempest
Bathe me
       penetrate me with wet
restore and purify
my being
take over and disinfect
let me feel my own strength
until it pours out from my cells
into the space inside my heart
where love and lust still dwell
My tears mingle with the sweet drops
as I fling arms open to the sky
releasing strikes of lightening
for every word I cry
as I summon, pray for lightness
mixed with the sturdiness of earth
Let joy rise up and bubble
within my being
as rebirth

Poor little creature!
He pecked at it a few times and buzzed off!

The sunrise smiles
from ear to ear,
a curved horizon grin

So when you open
up your eyes,
you too will smile again
