It’s hard to listen to kind thoughts
When your ears are stuffed with sadness
The story of two people,
sitting in the gentle night.
They hold their hands
without impatient fear.
Maybe this is true intimacy?

Too many plans, too many
subtle strategies
in the hiding place—
everything to avoid
the pain after.

Longing for what could be,
we say goodbye
to the now,
that leaves so quickly.

Between words,
taming the common confusion,
we will never come any closer
to another human being.

Celebrating the quiet feeling
of comprehension,
absorbed by the paradox of facts—
above differences, imposed tattoos.

We are sitting in the deep,
friendly night,
holding entwined hands
with an ephemeral moment
of fulfilled, trusting intimacy.
Feels like it hasn't rained in weeks
But there was
A spritzing just now
Lasted but a few minutes
All the clouds would allow
So there is that fragrance
That's hard to describe
Wet dust
Doesn't quite cover it
But it makes me feel alive.
It makes you remember.
I'm almost positive I heard them talking

Talking in their protective, yet complaining manner

They say, they only get to interact with the weak

They say, they're all too often held responsible for the bond between others

What's the matter with them?

They're the ones full of chemistry

They're the ones who can escape scott free

While I have to stay inside and act positive about it

Just once I'd like to not be in the middle of everything
Nothings slower then the present
And nothings faster than the past
We never know how what we are experiencing now might help us in the future. Every experience is valid and may be useful. Let's embrace everything and trust.
Trust in life. Looking back I realize how much I have learned even though I labelled certain experiences a failure or a waste of time in the past.
Don’t stay because you feel you must,
Love can’t be built on guilt or dust.
Stay only if your heart beats true,
If every breath still aches for “you.”

I want your smile, not just your face,
Your laughter warm, your soft embrace.
But if your joy begins to fade,
Don’t let our love become a cage.

I’d rather kiss you one last time,
Than hold you bound by silent crime.
So stay, my love, if love is why
Not just to soothe a saddened sigh.
