I saw you in a picture today,

A Family Christmas Card.

Your face looks like mine
you can see it in the eyes
especially when you smile.

He's smiling
Holding you in his arms
like you belong there

She's holding your brother
like she held you
in the few pictures we took

Together.

But there's something
not quite right
with this picture.

You can see it in your eyes,
especially when you smile.

Some things will
never be
Perfect.
NaPoMo #2

I saw my son in a family Christmas card and it destroyed me. This poem is for him.

I'm distressed. Everything's gone grey,
and I'm just soOOoo depressed today.
I can't seem to shake these blues.
My life's a lie that I can't make true.

I want to curl up into a little ball, in the corner of the room.
My days are all filled with gloom and doom.
These rhymes are tired, and so am I.
I'm just waiting around for the day that I die.

My soul is empty.
My heart has holes.
Bliss and Happiness -
Who are they? What're those?

You could ask me who I am,
and "Nothing" is what I'll say.
Just one more sad poet.
Another bad cliche.
"Oh, woe is me!"

Only 'cause I love you ;)

and perhaps some mistakes
demand to be made,
who even knows what's
the reasoning behind it all

all i know is -
no matter how wrong
you may be for me -
i'm sure that you will be
*my favorite regret
I am incapable of explaining you
