When you have a secret
A big one, not that your favorite color isn't blue
But one that eats, one thats hungry
Thats the kind I'm talking about
Secret with a captial S

It seems so big, that no matter how you keep it in
It will come out; but not the way you like
It'll come in snappy remarks, irritation and strife
It will work its way in, and put things through a blender
It'll slice up everything good in your life
It will stay hidden, and show everywhere
It'll be deep, deep inside
It will be everywhere

Secrets are important
Because they mean something to stay hidden
You want to tell them all, let them out
See if you are forgiven
but you want to spare feelings

Its right beneath the skin sometime
Its that second where they ask if you're mad
Its an anger that you don't know why
Its that evisceration of your soul
Its something that will never heal
Its everything you want to let go
Its everything you want to hide

Sometimes its a shame, sins against God
But is it God that will not forgive, or
That beautiful soul you are trying to love
That one you don't want to hurt
Because, like you, they've been hurt enough

So you find your courage, when you've had enough
When you are desperate to try, to put all your pain to ground
Gather your brave, bandage your wounds
Take your pride in hand, and stare fear in the eyes
You'll be better after, forgiven in stride,
Or you will know for sure, that effort's
Another lie

But be truthful to yourself,
The worst lie is yours
Make honesty a choice
And give secrets
the door

Written on paper, handwritten mess
Swirls of cursive, great, fancy lines
Another generation, or maybe two
Won't see the art, can't read it's ink
In three, the best, the paper lost

Maybe a scrap, burned, incinerated
Thrown by a child, young woman's maybe
Remnants of a past, great, great grandmama's fire
Doesn't open the note
A journal unread
It's wasn't written in stone
Only temporary, illusion art

A woman deserves, poet's heart
To write in stone, a love that lasts
Too heavy to throw
Hard to burn
Written in stone

The most precarious of words
Linger and doubt, remove all that
Not written in water, sand or spout
Give to history, not shapeless grave stone
Something to be passed
Proven in stone
It falls, more of a drip
Flowing, warmth, and slick
It tastes so sweet, teasing
Smooth, lubricating, and wet
I can make it rain
Taste it's anytime I like
Only have to rub the bottle
Polish it's parts, glean it's magic
Insert a quarter and pay my due
It's a candy machine
I open my mouth below
Let it all pour down
Gulp and swallow
Like a big child
Happiness smeared all over my mouth
Such a big mess, laughing
Go wash your face!
But I don't listen
Always rebel
Go after more
That sweet candy
Eat it well
When she walks
Something happens
It's in the air
How she moves it
Or it around her
Maybe it's her aura

But colors seem brighter
And if she walks across the grass
It's not just greener
It leans toward her
Like they confuse her
The sun shines less brighter
It's shine more just a shimmer

Child-like, innocent
It's a game she plays
Where she says something
But she knows different
Not sure if it's cute
But if there's a laugh,
She'll second

Much of life is fames
Who knows who
What is slimmer
Not for her
Just simple

I love her
Innocence
Her beauty and simmer
(I wish she wouldn't)
Locks of black
**** akimper
Gemini, two all looking at one

A May's chyld, through
Skipping for sake
Lost on purpose
Perfectly happy
Grass too long

Here I know better
All beneath the lake
Her beauty's her mask
Not quite acting
But not true
Diverting attention
Skirting the questions

Not wanting to answer
Every answer askew
Not the question
But an answer for you, man
Only to find, men don't care

Now when one does
She's forgotten the test
Lost, too many not to care
She cringes behind
Soft, big brown eyes
I love yous and kisses
And hugs that hide

Maybe she knows
That this is real
Her heart is safe
No retreat
Always
Real

"Oh, come away with me
to a land where you'll be free;
a place where all can achieve
if you only just believe.

Follow me, my friend,
take this journey to the end.
Take my hand and you will see
just how much you mean to me.

As its beauty you inhale, you'll
not desire to go back,
to that place of woe from whence
you came,
a place riddled by such lack.

So take my hand and soon you'll be
in a picturesque land of great jubilee,
where there's never need to beg
or borrow,
and no one ever worries
for tomorrow."

Said the spider to the fly
just before its time to die....

Don't judge a book by its cover, or charming ways.
Everything about you
Is frozen in time
You'll never grow old
From the moment
I first saw you
Never a new line
Grays don't find
A hold in your hair
Little pieces of you
Never to wear
You'll complain
about time
its always unkind
but to me you are frozen
I can't help but stare
Caught in your moment
Tangled in love
Too tight and twined
I don't have a choice
Like my actions not mine
Almost like someone
Cups my mind
I am forced to see you
Past everything unkind
Look through the abyss
Past dragons, devils,
cages and time
I see you the way you want to be
Words, you've written in the past
The woman you are, free and fine
I see all the strings, how they keep you tied
Little emotions, that strive, tear and bind
Addicted to feeling, I want to devour
You scare me at times, fire backdrafted fear
But its nothing to face, feeling love, a presence so near
it holds me to you, a part of you protects
It burns but doesn't consume me
That who you are, pure safety and loved
So I wither the fire, take fury and burn
To see the Phoenix, kiss life against death
