Engorged with night sky
The fire supersaturated your eyes.
Warmth cocooned me dizzy as you whispered slowly.
My skin lustfully shivered from your deep vibrato.
A migration of monarchs erupted in my stomach.

Sunlight dimples the floor like the freckles under your eyes.
Surging electricity burning, tingling spastic from within.
Revolutionizing the way my lungs fill with oxygen.
How the blood pulses through the veins in my body.

Waves lip grainy sand
Making love over and over again,
Married to the moon's tide.
But my desire is not periodic
It incessantly permeates my being.

Lucid like soundless motion,
Distance blurred what tumbled from your teeth.
I knew what your tongue spoke,
But I, masqueraded as fool.

A breath caught in my cheeks.
Bright cauliflower moon hanged over you.
I swallowed it all whole,
Struck by our elephant fluttering erratic heartbeat.

The sky swaddles swollen in sunshine.
Clouds soothe mountain peaks.
But you drift irrevocably across my atmospheres.

“I love you.” So buttery on my tongue,
Such a waterfall set at an astounding height.
Watch my words pour over the edge,
Glistening in the reflection of the wildfire you have lit across my skin.

Darling, there is something remarkable in the way stars kiss the blackness
Of midnight, endlessly forever.
This is you and me.

Time is all that sets us free
To all the wonders, that can be humanly perceived
Time is all that binds us
To mundane, almost emotionless routines we have conceived.

Time is the ticking of the clock
That gnaws at us; leaving no immediate mark
Time is the face that has come to mock
It creeps on regardless; you notice it turn light to dark.

Time is the invisible candle that everyone innately holds
It gets lit from the moment we open our eyes
Time is not the wick that gives berth to flame
Rather it is the waxes that burn and then vaporise.

Time can and will never stop
Moments go by with the blink of the eyes
Time..., it does not favour
It isn't biased, it doesn't get swayed by truths or lies.

Time is the entity that governs almost all
It will tell when it deems it's right
From seedling to tree, hatchling to flight
A weakness to strength, the frail to might.

Time is the quest
That we have strived to conquer
Time is all of us
We have secretly craved for life much longer.

Time would only permit
All that I could pen in time
Time will always suggest to omit
So I could capture it all in rhyme.
Deep in me
I'm fading away
What makes me myself
No longer exists
Into an abyss
My eyes search for what is
But silent hope
Unfolds once again*

I felt broken today
I felt as if everyone who looked at me saw how torn I was
As if they were counting how many pieces of him were stuck in my skin like broken glass
Little bits and pieces stuck everywhere he ever touched me
How can they possibly count them all

the sparkle of your dove-grey eyes
is lost in those tears; do not cry,
for nothing good happens at four a.m.,
nestle, wait, the sun will rise again.

star-spangled blackness is only
worthwhile when it shrouds dreams,
so wipe your cheeks and dredge up
a smile; find some self love

even if it is only in shreds --
I promise you're not better off dead.
it only seems so in heavy night,
star-child, you are far too bright

to let yourself be crushed or lost:
though easy, defeat bears a cost,
so pull up a laugh, and those covers;
do not weep for past or present lovers.

do not give your mind over to pain,
believe me, you are not to blame
for all the wrongs upon this world,
you are no god, just a heavenly girl,

so don't give up; soon the morning
will rise, a new hope is dawning
every day: will you seize this one
and shed the fear of what's to come?

please ignore as the voices wail
that you were only born to fail;
they're liars, with no life but
what you give them, don't give up.

so go to bed, comfort is allowed,
tuck yourself in, darling i'm proud
of you; one more day you've survived
and against all odds you're so alive.

He builds robots
with his bare hands.
He takes the wrenches
and the electronics
and the nuts and bolts
and makes out of nothing
Something.

And even though I don’t even know him.
I think I may love him a bit.

I think about
How he puts things together that weren’t connected ever before.
Fixing that which is broken
Or unmade
Or seemingly unfixable.
And proving the world wrong when this man-made machine
is just as alive as the rest of us.

The discarded
are made
into something with a renewed sense of purpose.
Proving recycling as a totally viable concept
[and not just a fad hippies whine about]
Right before your very eyes.

And as I watch him explain
High level mechanics
to the English majors like me,
I think about my broken heart
and the inability to truly love anyone in the last five years of my life
And I think

Maybe
There’s someone out there
Who can finally fix that.
Seriously, Robotics are ****.

Strange are your ways Oh world!
You ask me what do I stand to gain
When I help strangers on their way
Pause to give my time
Spend so much of it in selfless care

What do I stand to gain?

When I make your burdens mine
Think you'll need my help
And lend my shoulder to lean

What do I stand to gain?

When I work for you and your pain
I see beyond your need
To what my help can mean

What do I stand to gain?

When you stretch out your hand
And look my way
Knowing maybe somewhere
Someone will open their heart in true care

What do I stand to gain?

When I love so deep
Knowing time and again that it will hurt
You may care not a dime
And you may never return the time

What do I stand to gain?

I smile and reply
I stand to gain nothing
Cause if I did want anything in return
My hand I would not extend
A self serving attitude is not mine
Don't try to reason, cause you won't find
I choose to love freely and openly
It's for you to decide
You want to use me or love me
To each one his own
I have chosen this path
To be free from expectations
Hurt not and you will not be hurt
You decide what's for you to do.

On the other hand cannot stop what I do
For the only thought that governs me
Is Someone some where is aching just like me
When I need it so badly I know what I see
And then unconsciously I reach out
Thinking I am stretching into infinity
You see this life is a full circle
And one day it'll come back to me
So I am doing myself a favor, actually :-)
This is a strange write, because it was inspired by a casual insensitive remark by someone about why I help someone, when I have nothing to gain from it.  I found it so stupid and strange....but then I realized..maybe I need to explain.

When my tears r spent
And I can no more cry
I relive every moment
And realize that it was u
Who actually made me stronger

If it were not for terrible words
I would not find the courage to write

If it were not for your aspersions
I would not be willing to try

If it were not for your doubts
I would not my resolve make firm

Because you laughed at my dreams
I reinforced them harder

Dug deep and connected to my inner being
I found myself because of you

Because of you
I learned to live and survive

Because everything you did wrong
Taught me something new

It also taught me that I did not need u
So thank u

You were meant to be that chapter for me
Where I cud learn another lesson in humanity
Sometimes we need that someone who hurts us so that we can become stronger! Strange!
