 Dec 2014 That Girl
Reese Danae
I don't love you the way I did yesterday,
Because I love you more and more every second.
I don't love you the way I did yesterday,
Because I'm not the same person as I was then.
I don't love you the way I did yesterday, because if I did I would still be here

Today I burst open, spilling my love for you with words,
Leaving no doubt that it's impossible for me to love you the way I did yesterday.

candy I stare like a kid
   suddenly remember I am eighty-four
no longer need nor can handle those tastes.
A young sweet walks past, god how I remember
what I would have said back in '54.
I look into the candy store window again,
move my dentures a tad with a tongue,
too old too  decrepit to ever taste again,
I say, to a young man near,
   remember to brush your teeth.
Any song can sound sweet,
if you tune your tone appropriately,
and add a lyric,
with a melody
and I have seen where there is a life,
there is a song
but some songs are not only a love song
that notion was a loop, intense, black and blue passionate song
was not romantic

She was a sad song
and I thought I would know how to make it better
like if I could be the only to love her again,
I believed that everything would fall into a melodious love song
but  I lost a few lines of lyrics
and there was bit melody missing that I couldn't find
and I saw too many scratches on the disc
I couldn't let myself be made no longer
trying to fix her entirety.

Shhh...can you hear me?
I'm hardly a pin
I'm hardly a mile away
Shhh...do you know the pain I'm in?

Look...can you see me?
I'm hiding behind shadowed eyes
And a mask of smiles
Look...will you look past the honest lies?

Taste...can you palate the bitterness?
Sharp and acrid accusations
Dancing on wagging tongues
Taste...will you swallow what is given?

Touch...can you feel my failing muscles?
Every fibre losing this very battle
A futile fight I must concede
Touch...will you save the pieces that crumble?

Read...can you make sense of my heart?
Pounding behind its bony cage
Pumping red into my desperate nib
Read...can you understand the ink staining my page?

Shhh*...can you hear me?
I don't think you can
For I have ceased to speak
In the universe of man

If you read my poetry my love
For they are conquering bereavement
To bring you back, my words are arranging a court of river
To sail you on the court my pens are breaking down and turning into a boat….
For you my love, I have learned dangers have no shadow
If a tragedy closes a door, it also opens a new door
For a memory is lost by another memory
Though you will live in my poetry century after century……
You should see him,
You know?
You should see the way he holds me
As if I was made of paper
Instead of meat and bones.
You should see the way he smiles
Understanding,
Whenever I do someting wrong.
You should see the way he kisses me
Ever-so-softly, yet sometimes rough.
You should see him, really
The way he makes me fall in love.
Drafts that never get anywhere #1
Goodnight, my love
Tonight I leave for good.
Just hush, my love
Don't cry so much,
You will feel better soon.

Sleep tight, my love.
Don't fear the hurt,
Your light will be the moon.
Breathe deep my love,
Like that, go on
I'll sing your favorite tune.

And don't worry, my love
For I leave you not
Without making this easier for you.
I leave you here, a list, my love
Of things to learn to do:

"Wake up early and smile
For the day is bright
And there are no clouds around

Feel proud
About how you speak your mind
For there is no one alike

Be joyous, don't cry
Don't sob or frown
When you see my seat unoccupied

Remember the good times
The laughs and the cries
The love we shared for the longest time

Last but not least, learn how to live
It's the best advice you'll get from me
Write what you feel and follow your dreams"

When the night gets dark I won't be here
Wake up till noon,
If you can if you could
Tomorrow will be here soon

And I reckon you'll cry
You'll scream and fight
When you see I'm nowhere about

Goodnight, my love.
I leave you behind
But your memory stays deep in my heart

Goodbye, my love
It's time to go
But I will always,
Always
Keep you close
