Almost everything in the fairytales turned out to be true:
Horrible witches, nasty curses, dark demons, and guarded fortresses.
But princesses?
I thought they were figments of our imaginations.
And yet little girls read storybooks religiously, dreaming of winning over the Prince Charming.
Well ladies, you can keep your pristine and spotless princes.
I know where love and honour truly lies.

It is in the dragon's keep,
Where she is locked away and hidden.
The walls of her own heart blocking everyone out,
Burning everyone down who dared face her inner dragon.

But there is determination running through his veins,
Bravery in every bead of sweat,
A fighter's honour gleaming in his eyes.
Breaking down the barriers to find a damsel in distress, he did the strongest thing:
Held the wretch in his arms.
A soldier with the ability to find perfection in the weakest of souls.

My knight in ***** turnout gear,
The firefighter who discovered a princess.
My love who proved the reality of fairytales,
And found our happily ever after.

The dark is arriving at our doorstep,
Creatures might come out of the closet tonight,
But baby I made us a palace.
Come inside,
Cuddle up with me,
And we'll make it through any nightmare together.

Let's count the stars on our interlaced fingers,
Follow fireflies with our open-jar hearts,
We could entertain the ghosts of our pasts in shadows on the wall,
And I will whisper love notes into your ear.

The walls of this lover's fortress are indestructible,
As I lay next to you,
And you lay next to me,
Two hearts beating together in perfect harmony.

Beautiful boy,
Please let me kiss you between your ears.

You told me not to cry over spoiled milk.
But darling, I never liked expiration dates.
I don't want things to end.
But maybe the beauty is in the inevitability.
So I'll leave the fridge door open, and feel the breeze for just a little while longer.

When you're drowning in a bucket...

Then someone kicks it.
Just one of those days.

Why we are here.
Why our imagination runs wild.
Why we search.
Why we fall.
Why the moon appears every night.
Why the tides come in.
Why the stars shine.
Why there is a burst of colour at sunset and sunrise.

Things that I didn't understand and could never fathom until I met you.

When the sun sets, the colors are bidding the Earth a goodnight.
When the sun rises, the sky breaks in delight to stream over the horizon and touch all parts of the world.
The stars shine to help lost lovers find their home.
First star to the right and then straight on until morning.
The tides come in to kiss the shoreline, who's beauty the ocean can never resist.
The moon always appears in the sky to give its long distance lover the sun a rest, and become a beacon of hope for all inspired insomniacs.
We fall so that we may be caught, either in the soft caring arms of our sweetheart, or by the forgiving and sturdy ground.
We search not to reach a destination or answer, but to stumble across the perfect partner to share the journey with.
Perhaps our imaginations aren't running wild at all.
I am starting to think that they are the prophets for all things possible, but too wonderful to demand.
We are here for a reason, whether we know it yet or not.

I am here to make the world make sense with you,
Star-crossed lovers until the ends of our days.

There they go again
The sounds I can't get out of my head
Code three sirens
Around and around and around
Please stop
My world is burning.
