Grey skies
The bleak end
White lies
They’re all pretend

Out of bed but not awake
It’s in my head and hard to take
I can’t see colour
All black and white
One pain after another
I want to see the light
The demons have won
Hiding under my bed
The demons have won
The battle within my head
I’m tried and drained
Wired and tamed
It’s time i refrained
From this sad life

Loneliness is the byproduct of expectations.
It's a cloud that settles in when time slows.
The fruit that falls from the tree, rotten.
Loneliness is always there,
Waiting for you.

We fear death, a place thought to be isolating.
Yet in our lonely moments,
We feel the rope strangling.
Veins blocked,
We stand up on the world's edge, leaning forward, hoping to find another world,
Where our lonely weekends dont exist at all.

No one cares if you are falling,
as long as you are still flying.
Will you watch me hit the ground?

a year's worth of scarring
adorns my thigh,
lying there
a constant reminder
but they are also
a year's worth of happiness,
of friends,
of recovery,
of love.
they are from the year
that i wanted to die,
but now
they represent
another year
i have lived.
january was the anniversary of my depression diagnosis.
