Dark Delusion
Those emotions keeping me awake.
Eyes never closing fully.
My life isn’t complete yet.
The last piece is unknown.

Those feelings keeping me aware.
Eyes observing everything.
What am I missing?
Where am I lost at?

The puzzle I can never finish.
The emptiness I never can fill.
The feeling I can never experience.
The piece I never can have.

The light I reach for is further away from my heart.
The wind in my soul blew it out.
The storm in my head never clears up.
The flaw in my life I’ve always wondered about.

Ever since that day I fell.
That time I kept falling down.
You catched me already broken.
And left me due to my poor shape.

Madeline Killeen
White, cold, wet, sharp
It stings, nips
It buries,
Buries you in its
Heavy blanket
Let it, do not fight
This cold coffin
Could be home
Let the sharp breaths
Stab your lungs
Allow the wetness to
Wash you away
Become the cold, the ice
Disappear in the white-
Be at peace.

Don't shy away
Step in it
Firm, plant your boots
Squish, until your
Submerged
Slick, dark
Let it engulf you,
You are no longer,
You
You are Earth,
Dirt, roots, and worms
Stay a while, then
Grow, sprout
There, see the sun?
It is brighter now, yes?
Grow,
Up, out
There,
You've bloomed

Stand tall, but not too proud.
Speak up, but not too loud.
Don't be afraid to be yourself,
but only when allowed.
Try not to inconvenience
and stay out of the way,
but when it's deemed appropriate,
say what you have to say.
