Her heart could heal
the heather,
Even in the colder weather's grip -
snapping the bony, brittle twigs
And sparkling sharply on abandoned leaves -
She could find her ease
On the downy carpet of the diseased,
Gather their lost limbs
Like a forgiveness-
That warm welcome of forget.
She could rest her head,
And bloom,
Bright blossom gazing up at the moon
More often than the sun,
Her fire blazing on -
A little hearth, among the heather
Warming roots in the
Colder months.

The wind blows, the trees

are bare and wet, the full moon --

glides pale behind them.
Title of the Sinterklaas-song "Zie, de maan schijnt door de bomen" ("Look, the moon shines through the trees", 1861, Jan Pieter Heije; music Jan Viotta)

Collection "Within the walls"

I guess some need the tragedy
Rambling mind and trembling feet
Falling for every fallen leaf
Desperate to keep winter out of reach

Because at least in summertime, everyone else seems happy.

Today I will hang my Winter curtains
thick and soft as a cat's full belly
December throw your gauntlet
full blast the rain, the wind can roar
they will not step inside my door
for every sound becomes a purr
when I have donned my seasonal fur

i'm a very hot & cold, all-or-nothing person, and i hate feeling stifled and like i'm not being heard, so i type my insecurities into this ****** little digital void and sometimes call it poetry

Little trees

Blocking path

Bowing deeply

Ice encrusted

Ducking under

Made my way

Thru the sylvanian domain

Sun rays playing off the ice

What a wonderful sight

Looking up, more beauty seen

Pink tufts of candy floss

Scattered across the sky.

I feel the bones
cracking in my toes
every thing aches
the joints are stiff and sore
hurts so much it's hard to ignore
I just want to curl up on the floor
just stop the cold from creeping in
I feel the icy chill on my skin
my bones ache
my skin is flushed
as the cold seeps in
nipping at my warmth
draining my energy
why did you have to set so soon
it to early for these low numbers
too early to freeze
but you're never ready
no matter how much you prepare
the cold will always bite
and slowly eat you away

Mother pricked her index on a holly bush.

A trickle of blood succumbed to the crater, crossing the lines of her palm.

She sanctioned a frown.

On her hand now lay a staining scarlet winter berry.
