May we forever be lovers,
May we forever be friends,
And should we hurt each other,
May we quickly make amends.

May we enjoy our passion,
But never let compassion die,
Thinking in selfless terms as we,
Never emphasising I.

May we forever be soul-mates,
May our love eternally last,
May the food of love sustain us,
May we never have to fast.

May we use each other’s strengths,
When we are feeling weak,
May we both learn to compromise,
And always as one voice speak.

May we never keep dark secrets,
May we never tell each other lies,
May we both work unceasingly,
To ensure our love never dies.

And to you, my child
I cannot promise you the world
Nor a string of jewels to wear on your neck or even money
But I can offer you my love
A love so great with the magnitude of black holes
Not just the cool ones in your science books
But the ones that swallow entire planetary systems and clusters of stars
I can't promise you much, baby girl
But I can promise you that you'll never ask yourself if someone loves you
You'll never wonder if there's a point to life
You'll never doubt your worth

Baby girl.

I was raised by a hard man
But a hard man who loved women
A hard man who loved his women
His wife. His mother. His sisters and his daughters.
I was raised by a man that taught me to stand tall not like her father
But like the woman she would become
I was raised by a man that taught me to reason. To think. To question authority if need be.

Go out into the world, baby girl, and live.
Be who you are even when that's not enough for your crush next door.
Because at the end of the day,
The Sun will set
And the Moon will rise

Claustrophobic lullabies
collecting in the tear ducts

             He silently exits the chapel.

Her white is transparent of her regrets

I made a promise that I've kept,
An oath I carry with every step;
A naked vow when undressed,
A pledge I'd no desire to test.

You made a promise that you broke,
An oath you mouthed when you spoke;
A vow that withered, dried and choked
The pledge that now sticks in your throat.

Was it your intention then
To take the words and make them bend;
To throw your voice like a ventriloquist.
Were your fingers crossed behind my back?

We clearly heard your words of honour,
Your assurances you'd never wander;
A bond to tie us til we'd die,
A covenant sworn between you and I.
Words... words... words.

Maggie's getting married,
All is much too harried;
But the dress is on,
The veil undrawn
Untill all words are spoken:
A vow, a pledge a promise made
To love and cherish all her days,
To love and cherish all his days,
From these chiming bells
To eternity's knells
Before friends and families.
But most importantly,
After the debris is clear,
To one another they will be
Loyal and true in fidelity,
And, by their own decree,
One in matrimony.

You have me
and I have you.

You love me
and I love you.

You treasure me
and I treasure you.

You adore me
and I adore you.

You want me
and I want you.

You need me
and I need you.

You're my everything
and I am yours.

I Will Always Be With You

through life and love
through the ups and downs

kinda wrote my wedding vows thinking about our promise rings and what they mean to us

I will gladly take you as my lawfully wedded wife.
To have and to hold, while I slowly destroy your life.
From this day forward, when you're feeling at your worst, I will lie to make it seem better
I promise I will be the one to sign your resignation from the world letter.
This sickness inside my soul will continue to deteriorate your health.
The days I bring you to your knees is how I'll count my wealth.

Till death do us apart,
I swear to poison your heart.

Beneath the willow tree he lies

surrounded yet by weeping boughs

as high above a lone loon cries

echoing my silent vows

Through love and life I swore to thee

through sickness and in health

through sunny days and crashing sea

through poverty and wealth

You were to me, I was to you

as one were we from then

and as your paling lips turned blue

I swore we'd meet again

My love let me go softly now

as quick as I to sleep

my love this is our final bow

I'm with you do not weep

Soft as yonder dawn doth break

o're gently burning skies

my dreams take hold I shall not wake

of woven moons and butterflies
For someone I have lost who was most dear, these, my love, are the words I wish I could have said

Eyes made a Promise to the Skye
much like Rainbows seen on high
through the celestial vastness nigh
wound in her viridian eye

To be held in reciprocity
supernatural laws binding we
while embracing our humanity
hand in hand we strengthen we

Eyes made a Promise to the Skye
To see thru our redemption, ride
though cloud cover storm or shine
lightning striking I'll stay with thee

Eyes made a Promise to the Skye
To take and make the rules apply
side by side forever to abide
steadfast with you before I
never not weather vexed or vehment
is the subject of our verb agreement

Eyes may not behold forever
but heart and soul entwined together
So that our forever may be
as a day in eternity

Welkin wonder of Gods promise to me
