Hey you crocodiles
Fighting for words to claim as yours.

Hey you mosquitoes
Drinking more than your fair share.

Hey you vultures
Circling around the weakest of us.

Hey you spiders
Waiting for an easy meal.

Hey you apes
Battling for possession of a bruised rose:

Look up and see the stars.
Þis world ain’t so vast and different
From þose found in what’s written
We write grand and tremendous of all þings
Þat we’ve imagined and delved deeply
to try oh so potently tu give revealing
Yet when we look about and just see unobscured and clearly
       Unperceiving and wiðout þinking
Giving þe world its chance to speak frankly
                   It’ll display tragic n pretty
for you n me þose þings most true
                                 Beyond suggestion ann interpreting
                                       Just simply incessant beauty
                                            in an unceasing locomotion
Þþ = Thorn ergo, Th, ð = Eth ergo, Th. It is not exactly in any sense perhaps as the ol' Anglo-Saxons and others of that time used those old letters. But call it trying with reinvention bring about resurrection.

One day i had a detailed look
at a 24 inch machine scale and
pondered some new ways to
relate to the sizes of things

some "inch" scales are in gradients of
decimals and i see them divided into
tens, those tens in turn divided to
even smaller tens, thus~

1.00 =    1               inch
0.10 =    1/10  th    inch
0.01 =    1/100th    inch

1/100th of an inch is very small but i see
certain things that my mind can measure,
like the size of the Earth— a little less than
eight thousand miles in diameter.

i can see a mile, but not thousands,
so my magic scale says:

1" = 1,000 mi, thus
Earth = about 8"

i imagine holding Earth in my hand
like a small beach ball, then i figure
that the moon is about 2 1/4" big.

how far away is it, i wonder ?
let me grab a tape measure :)

given what i have on hand, now there
is a basketball and a tennis ball lying
some 20 feet apart from each other
in the back yard

i look upon all this and fathom it in—

but this vision now zooms upon my "Earth" ball
with the scale situated conveniently next to it.
detailing the texture of its surface, my eyes
become disproportionately larger than my brain—

observing the Space Station
cruising about 0.15 above it,

the clouds hovering at 0.01,

and further still through the winds of upper distances,
descending between the smallest of lines to my
mere figment of a presence at
1/100th the size
of this tiny
period
dot
.

— leaving me to wonder how
i could possibly have even
glimpsed all of this—

from way down
                              Here...

I can't tell if the stinging in my eyes
Is from my tears
Or from keeping my eyes
Open in the rain
Too long.
Both end up blurring my vision anyway.
I don't mind though.
Because if there is a God,
And he's up there,
Then at least I know
He's as frustrated as I am.
And he deserves to be.

The world has gone dark that you can't really tell
Whether your eyes are shut or wide open
eve Jul 2020
busy contemplating
when one should be taking responsibility,
accountability for what has been said
and done.
with you,
i am me
i throw away all of my mistakes
worries, doubts, regrets
when i think of you
i stop everything
to sit and reminisce
your handsome face
the warmth of your body
something i held close to me, at some point
i wish i would’ve
cupped your face
pull you into me
and feel your rosy lips
brush up against mine.
i would trade the world
for another day
just me and you
facing each other
we would take a deep breath
and let the words escape
after all is said
and done
we will embrace each other
cling onto each other
like a magnet would
or like an innocent child,
holding onto momma’s hand.
Without the vision, people are rarely reminiscent
Of what they have been looking for,
And fall into a deep torpor.
Maybe it's this slumber that makes them realize,
All that they wanted to be was right there
In front of their own eyes.
With such strong desires held in her soul,
A fire was ignited in her heart
A rustling of leaves somewhere in the woods,
Where she sat somewhere along the brook
Pondering to herself,
Is happiness all I seek?
Or maybe it is just one of life's very old tricks
And it reeks.
With such a heavy heart
She walks alone into the woods,
Contemplating whether life is something
She ever understood.
the warm rays that used to engulfs me
now starting to fade

where does the tunnel lead to
cause I can't see where the end is
