"I never saw the light of day,"
I said to her as she shed a shimmering tear.
She let it run down to her neck,
The same one I had touched with my lips
And was now bare.

I backed away and she grabbed my hand
She pulled my collar and put her fist up
To my chest twice, and one more again.
"All that was sacred, I let it die,"
She said, "for a good for nothing man."

I, for a second, was not alive,
It was a car wreck I watched from afar
And I could not kick the brakes.
I saw her cry but I couldn't say
How much I loved her when she cried.

Pure silence is the sound of words left unspoken
gabriel ackerman Jun 2015
Why are these dreams broken?
when all these words are left unspoken.
Uncertainty killing those who care inside.
They are left to rot, left to die.
Why are their faces filled with sorrow?
They see no light, no tomorrow.
They beg and they plea.
Only to see cruelty.
Why do the stars fade from our eyes?
Is it because we are slowly dying inside.
Why are you sad, why can't you breath?
You are drowning in sorrow, please don't leave.
Why are we abandoned and left to rot.
Never to leave stuck in this spot?
Why do our nightmares overcome our dreams?
Because can't you see.
These dreams are broken, they are left unspoken, by me.

There is a moment between the cusp of darkness, and the rise of the morning sun
Magic
As the colors of a new day creep forth
The fire crackles as the hot embers burn
Emitting enough heat that I am not cold as I sit here
Soon you return to me
The bench shifts under our weight
You don't say anything for a moment
Allowing the silence take us forward into a new day
We watch the sun slowly creeping
Turning to me, the orange-red of the fire catching the whites of your eyes, bathing them with the soft glow.
I catch you smile and I can't help but laugh
A strange thing us sharing this moment
I am sure you think it's strange too
"Quite beautiful", you say with absolute precision
I tell myself not to read into it
Looking at you, it's hard to not see the attraction
Your features are very warm, your eyes scrunch up like mine when you smile
I think you must know that you're handsome
How could you not?
The sky is a brilliant red now
Glowing off the backdrop of darkness.
The fire seems pointless now, since the sky has burst into flames
Maybe it too looks up in awe and wonder
Welcoming the light of a new day

Your hand finds it's way to rest a top mine,
The instant contact startles me
I feel myself blushing
Your eyes are filled with fire now
A deep burning that I couldn't see before
We sit there silently in the moment
As the morning comes alive.

They said somethings
Are better off unspoken
Maybe that's why
He didn't tell me
That it will rain in April
And now my hair is soaked
In April's rain
While he smiles,
Holding an umbrella
For himself

I have been silent too long
I'm trying to make sense of things
hoping my mind can stay on track
to unleash my unspoken thoughts
there isn't much I can do but
pour my words onto my paper
I need to put my emotions somewhere
Amitav Radiance May 2015
The unspoken holds the secret
Of the entire concealed world
Misquoted so often with words
So many feelings yet to be felt
Often veiled with fabrications
Leave the feelings unsaid
As silence will echo the truth

No, I said.
Yes, you said.
I hate you, I said.
I like you, you said.
Leave me alone, I said.
I can't, you said.
I don't like you, I said.
But I still won't leave you alone,
you said.

Please, I said.
I won't let you go,
you said.
I don't want to see you again,
I said.
I don't care, you said.
Please, I said.
No, you said.

Why can't you just leave,
I said.
Because, stupid, I love you,
you said.

I'd pull the stars from the sky,
I'd take the bullet,
I'll be your reverse dementor removing the bad instead of the good,
I'd stay up all night,
I'd cross rivers,
Mountains,
Hills,
Valley's.
I'd thrive,
I'd live,
I'd die for you.
I'd remain unhappy if it gave your life purpose,
I'd walk in your shoes,
I'd take any happiness i have and implant it in your mind.
I'd walk over hot coles,
Ice,
Shattered glass,
Shattered dreams,
Shattered love,
To make you see that i love you more than anything in the world and would do anything to see you live, but i can't do that dead, so i guess you've given me purpose too.
I can't offer you the world but i'll give you more love than you ever dreamed,
It might smother you,
It might empower you,
You might not return it,
But if it sparks the match you need to go on, it makes it worth the risk.

Kept memories in dreams
Was silent every time
Words wasn't enough
What feared eyes had said

The hidden doors beside the unsaid Knows
The broken laughs and the feared eyes knows
Felt pain and joy knows

Sadness knows
Only if
Only If I said
Only if....
