I was wondering in the fires for too long
I need the whispers of love to keep me strong
the mornings of waking up to an average day are behind me
strangers are watching as I made my depression flee
How does this feel?
Like a pleasant hallucination which eased my soul
an event that re birthed my essence to be whole
pretty pictures across my future resulting in hope
to one day reach my true potential as I look through a scope
no more holding back, no more following hollow thoughts
this agony shall never be able to keep me as it haunts
burning through layers of strength, showcasing a painful doom
and once my decision has been made to win, I've just conquered my tomb.
A heart of triumph knows no bounds
its finely tuned, a divine sound,
it knows not failure, nor success,
it knows not the penalty of distress,
for regardless of the instance in which it prevails,
weather it be a correction, success, or a fail,
a heart of triumph stays through good and bad,
in those of us who let go of being angry or mad,
so that we can live, and be triumphet in life,
so that we can be triumphet for our friends, neighbors, kids, and wives.
triumph over your loss, and its still a win

Better Self
To Better Live,
Be Better than The Man
You was Yesterday
EVERYDAY,
If you truly want to have
Things your way,
GET UP, AND AT EM
You're not inferior,
So don't just sit on your posterior,
Make your intellect as a sponge
And absorb knowledge,
Which is POWER
With each new cycle
To triumph over any obstacle,
Humans make mistakes
Until they rest in Open graves,
So don't seek perfection
Just learn from ALL lessons
AMBITION .

gallery: all these options exploding before me, but none appealing enough to the man in charge of unclothing the corneas of my eyes. the portraits upon these walls scream at me, "choose I!" however, I've always been indecisive, and not favoritism friendly.
echoes: voices retreating to the corners of the cave in my brain, redundancy being its only capability. I've heard this before; I understand where you're coming from; but do you even acknowledge my perspective? being trapped inside this darkness, with your words shoveling themselves into my ears-- I'm bleeding; but the stream of red running from my lobes isn't visible, we only see black here.
yoyo: this string only goes up or down, and its in constant motion to maintain function. doesn't it get tired? sure, you might be entertained, but have you stopped to think what the ware you're tearing will do to it? persistent in unraveling me with no intention of fraying my thin string, but consequences result-- and its no one's fault, everything breaks eventually.

Some people have an IT that they must face
A beast ahead or demon on the shoulder
For them the IT is writ in upper case.

I fear that many men hide every trace
Of tears and self in masks appearing bolder
Some people have an IT that they must face

And those who gaze transfixed at the sheer pace
Of life's descent to dust, to rust and moulder,
For them the IT is writ in upper case.

My beauty meets her monsters every place.
And though I'm often there to hug and hold her
My darling has an IT that she must face

She battles them with discipline and grace
And lives by dint of detail, file and folder
Each labelled by an IT in upper case.

Though time will always catch us in the chase
It's fear of living true that turns us colder
Some people have an IT that they must face
For them the IT is writ in upper case.
I decided to try the 'villanelle' form after reading 'One Art' by Elisabeth Bishop.
This is the first poem I've written.

Die, ambition; earth awaits
You'll lie there soon and there you'll stay
And apathy: your twin, I say,
Beside you I myself will lay
His cruel and contorted face
So bent from years of shunning grace
So trapped in his immobile state
Afraid to move for fear of waste
Such irony that now his fate
Is lying still within his grave

I fought so hard, I didn't stop, I still survived the farthest drop.
And at the bottom, there you were, hovering until I'd stir.
And when I did, you saw me breathe, I wasn't dead so you'd just leave.
There I was, left on the ground, unable to hear a single sound.
Picked up my feet, pulled up my weight, endured the pain that was so great.
Saw you and fell more in love, while you flew by from above.
You're just fine and I am not; ****, I miss you quite a lot.
And now I'm up, I climbed my way, I didn't need your **** to stay.
It's over and guess what, I won, so you and I are over, we're done.
I can't have anyone hold me back any longer.

I told you yesterday what my new motto was.
I said "Who dares, wins" and that is because
One wins because they bravely dared,
But then I realized what should have cared.

I dared to love you, but am I to win?
For you do not seem to let anyone in.
I still dare to love you, but now I do doubt,
you will not love me the I way I thought it out.

To love me, I dare you on a daily basis
Don't mind me, fine, leave me to this crisis.
You'd win me, my body, my mind and my heart.
Dare love me, you'll win more than wordy art.

I still dare to love you, to win I await.
While learning to myself bathe in hate.
I dare myself to stay and love anyway,
give at least some reason to rise everyday.

I dare you to love me, I dare me to still
Continue, pursue, as long as I will...
.....
...

I dare me to realize you won't come around,
That my love is nothing you will have bound.
I dare me to accept and live with the truth.
Find someone else in our own era of youth.

I dare me to let go, to let go of you,
If you were meant for me, I would know it true.
I dare me to pray that you find your own,
She need not be me, nor someone you've known.
A sudden change of heart for my affections. How rapid, yes? For the past years I have been writing prologues to Valentines' Days, now I write an epilogue of sorts, not quite what one would expect, but I dared, and I must have won something, anything.

The king died today.
It stopped the world in its tracks.
The news spread like a forest fire.
We mourned as we searched for comfort found in quotes.
We had to draw a lesson from his life.

Jailed, tormented and finally freed,
He rose to the height of king.
All the while, fist clinched.
A symbol held in the air for all to see.
Democratically elected, he knew man was meant to be free.

We often talk of things needing to be done.
He was in the business of doing.
From here, we can draw inspiration.
Here, his light shines on us.
We are to be kings.
Kings of our own destiny.
Gods of the possible.

Change has two faces.
At times, it seems glacial.
At others, it sweeps over us at a rapid face.
But change comes for us all.

Love has two faces.
It can seem just out of reach.
Or it makes itself known when we least expect it.
Love has a way of finding us all.

Pain has two faces.
Often, unbearable.
Then, something to be triumphed.
Pain is often born out of love and it has a way of changing us all.

And with wrist close and overlapped, we march on.
Despite the changes and pain.
Love has us marching on.
It is our way of seeing this life through.
