You're asleep, but I'm having a little fantasy.

We are going to Paris (of course) and we just decided to go. No planning, no serious packing. Just got our stuff together and went for a few days. We fly through the night, and I wake up with my head on your shoulder (like Gordo and Lizzie) and we eat plane breakfast (which for some reason involves sausage links and orange juice in this little dream) and land at Charles de Gaulle at 10 AM.
We get off the plane and go find our hotel, which is kind of far from the heart of the city but we like it cause that's where the really cute eclectic apartments and shops are. And you buy me red roses that night and every day we take long walks all over the place.
We do touristy stuff while we are there, and you take me to all of the places you went to with your family and we even play soccer in front of the Eiffel Tower one night, for your old times sake.
But mostly we make love a few times a day and go get beautiful meals and I speak French to the waiters and you think it's ****. We go to a little bakery down the street from us every morning and night and just have an obscene amount of baguettes in our room. We sleep with all of the windows open (it's summer) and the light of the Eiffel Tower is visible at night, far off in the distance.
Some nights, we make love on the balcony of the hotel and then just talk forever, and I'm so perfectly happy there in your arms on the balcony of our little quaint hotel in Paris just for the hell of it.
And I'm so ******* glad you're there with me, even if it's just in my head.

I remember I fell head first to your big brown eyes
I hummed my favorite songs to the thought of you being there listening to my lameness
A bottle of Crown couldn’t ease the emptiness at night
I could tell you were sure when you fought for us, when the faults were mine
I painted a picture of your head on my chest with my imaginary paintbrush
I’ve been taking it gentle with the help of solitude
I’m trapped in a prism full of memories of your blank stares
I’ve let go of the pain but I still reflect on it
Expressing my feelings on it like if change came that easy
Seems like it was just yesterday we were arguing about the little things
Questions on how to strive, I never knew
Displacement of our paradigms, I always thought so negatively
I could’ve found reasons to shed a ray of light into us
Now all I have is a hologram in my mind that I try to touch and just goes through
I remember my first daydream of our future
You were wearing a white dress and all I could feel was sureness
I lived by that truth of you being mine for a long time and I was obsessed with it
I was obsessed with you and the ideas we could’ve brought to life in time
I’ve realized that you’re perfect and my feelings are just a glimpse of what’s truly real to me

Rooms full of tiny paper,
getting a round like the party ****.
Everybody ingests these playful
images, for much more.
Sometimes hoping for less.

Hallways grabbing at my ankles,
Shadows move on demand and breathe.
I quickly dash to the bathroom,
searching for some peace of mind.
Focus: disappeared.
Colour changing loss tiles.
My face nor my mind no longer belong to me.
This place is haunted, and not by some extraterrestrial nor ghosts.
This is my own doing.

As we decide to for a walk,
we stop by a river.
**** and **** by the standby,
in case I act up.
When the sky and the river became one,
I realised I had too much fun,
and must escape.

As me and my friends run to the door,
screams of fear echo in my mind.
The door decides to run away,
little does it know it has 3 sets of big eyes,
on the chase.

We enter the door into this horror styled,
amusement park ride. Where anything can happen. Anything can jump,
no appetite.
I spend my hour in purgatory,
to finally come back a stable-ish
young man.

The Cheshire cat hide at the end of the bed talking he and I both out of these
uncomfortable situations.

Each plea louder then the next.
Eventually she enters the door,
like a lonely animal,
seperated for a lifetime.
I do want I wanted to do,
rest my head upon her breast,
patiently awaiting for sanitys return.
I refer to my friend as the Cheshire cat, as he is wearing a purple towel and the only person conscious in the room.

All alone, on the other side, far away from judging eyes.
Pictures under the moonlight.
So close that I can hear your heart beating as fast as mine.
Discovering even more things that make us alike,
and lovely surprised by the things that don´t.
Holding hands down main street and I feel so safe.
Dancing in the crowd but I get lost in you
And I hope our plane had never landed back.
RM. I wish that november weekend had never ended.

champagne gleams in starlight
encapsulating souls of the ocean
weave through the coral maze
shades of the setting sun
shoot across the sky
golden eyes engulf a mind so alive

Another poem about my trip to Puerto Lindo, Panama, last summer. My grandmother-in-law loves my poetry, so she requested that I write something about the trip and read it to everyone on our final day there, and this is what I came up with.

Inhaling your breath against my lips gets me high. Love this potent should be illegal, it feels so bad... like someone sold me your heart in a little plastic bag from the pocket of their hoodie in the cover of night. I lit it on fire and breathed in every panted wisp of smoke pushed up from your burning core. I bet distant cities can see our flames on the horizon, and the citizens are rushing to church to kneel before God and pray to be spared from the glowing apocalypse crawling towards them. What a beautiful way to die... but the world has already ended to me, because nothing matters in this moment but you. I think I can hear their screams beneath yours, as the ****** of Armageddon firestorms falls from the angry heavens that generously matched our souls.

Then silence... the beautiful silence that drapes the earth once everyone and everything is dead except for us, at least until the sun returns, and the alarm clock rings and resurrects the world from its hallucinated grave, and I head out to work hungover with love.

lying together
in the last of the darkness...
I awake
to the hiss of flames
and plumes of candle-smoke

Troubled kisses and these hickeys are covered, I thought we were just going to cuddle.
Subtle moves and you were pretty boozed.
I don't need to book you, you're already there.
We stare and dare, I cant bare.
We went to Target and time wasn't really a factor.
Time dies, we're alive and I'm letting go of my pride.
I was just talking about time and I loved how you listened to my theories.
We shared a Gatorade, I gave you the first sip because I think it'd be gentlemen of me.
We wore robes around the store.
Parked somewhere dark and talked about everything.
"I want to be the one you dream of"
I don't understand the simplest things.
The normal always confuses me.
one day this will be real these are stories

I see you've come to our world today.
Your unaware of what we'll do or say.
You come mouse like not know what you'll find.
Your hoping we'll play rough and start twisting your mind.

It’s been a long dim dance with me, I am surprised,

So surprised by your resolution

Looking into

Your eye, I saw the destination of a long, long trip

And I’ve been lost before

But now the coast rolls up and in trees

I rest with cool, cold eyes and a heart

Going thump

Thump thump

Kick, goes the beat of the drum mourning something

Lost at sea

In the ocean

Riding storms to whole new worlds and without me

Signal fire I send up, just like me,

Mourning your love I send up for lightning

And down, down, down it comes

All to curse you

All to nurse you back into health

Lost to a cool, cold sigh from a heart

Going thump

Thump thump

In the dim light, reaching its thorns out on vines

and you escaped

I’ve been lost before, but this is nothing

and you will thank me
You'll thank me.

We sat on the floor
Of the antique shop
Thumbing through a large box
Of old postcards
Some of them have writing
and were mailed a long time ago
You buy only one
It's a faded love letter
With a line
"I love you in the same old way"
