Odd Odyssey Poet Nov 2024
Tomorrow comes too soon — I am the taste of noon,
a mirror reflecting another's brilliance; I am just a moon.

In
A world that seeks to mould me into a mere tool, yet my
truest desire is to be a spoon, nourishing those who crave
love; those ensnared in a wicked life of their own doom
Still, all I aspire to achieve feels so insufficient,

For
Tomorrow comes too soon — I am the inquisitive shadow
lingering in a room. I've been transformed into a broom,
sweeping away many of my ideas— for all the countless
moments they appear in their eyes as something never close
to good

As
All the creativity I possess comes with the weight of having
so much to prove; I've stumbled many times, leaving me to
question the true fit of my shoes. Life wears me down by
day’s end, and the cycle begins anew.

Always
Tomorrow comes too soon.

I made a list of the things I am afraid of.
On number three, I wrote a word, "Tomorrow".

Tomorrow comes second, first comes today.
Even light, which is the fastest thing we know of,
Cannot make it fast enough to skip today
and make it straight to tomorrow.

Tomorrow is clever.
Tomorrow is truly tricky.
Every today I live,
There's a new tomorrow waiting for me.
"Oh the agony."
"I don't know what the new tomorrow will bring for me."

Everybody's tomorrow's a different tale
And tomorrow shows up every day without fail.

A tomorrow's always there,
A tomorrow always comes,
Until it does not one day.
Maybe then I'd wished
That I'd lived today.

I'm not afraid of death
To be completely honest
I'm more afraid of life
That part has been the darkest

Tomorrow drags behind it
Anxiety of the unknown
And leaves it at the doorstep
Of the temple ruins I call home

A heart does not regrow, no
Where pieces are ripped out and stolen
Damaging words and moments fill in
What's left stays threadbare and broken

If I've said it once
I've felt it twice
The thought of nothing
Has long enticed

I desire to create,
What remains unperceived,
Unrepairable faith in it's authentic self,
Unscathed by anothers opinion or morals,
Their hopes and desires,
The birth of such a rebellious idea remains unearthed,
I want it raw,
But God despises it,
The idea of being challenged,
So all left of my thoughts is the binding vision of tomorrow,
A vision of hope,
That ensues an ameliorating repercussion on my mental capacity,
Concluding the idea of a saviour,
And Of my passion and greed,
Greed to learn something I shall never master,
Tomorrow, is only a dream away,
Remembering, anything can happen,
In this life, any second, any day,
Will the sun shine, or clouds hang,
You can only, dream, of it  today.

Will tomorrow bring, happiness, or sorrow,
Will you be sharing, your wealth with others,
Or will you, half to beg, or borrow, many unknown,
Answers, never known, unless you see tomorrow.

Tomorrow is not just another day, look ahead,
It’s one more step, approaching your grave,
Stay away, from excuses, they make you lazy,
Discover your soul, one day you will never see a tomorrow.

From yesterday and today rises the hope for tomorrow
by which that day may bring an end to human sorrow.
But though this will seem to some now a very long way off
true faith is known to work wonders so we shouldn’t scoff.

From 'The Quatrains' ongoing writings since the early 90's
I enjoy WRITING POETRY because, I just do,
My WRITINGS HELP OTHERS, but
also HELPS ME TOO,
when I feel DOWN and OUT,
or GOING THROUGH,
FEELING SAD and SO LONELY and
feeling SO, SO BLUE,
Do you feel the same way??
I know that you do,
I've been in your shoes, and
I DO HAVE A CLUE.
But It'll okay, there's NO NEED for SORROW
JUST ALWAYS REMEMBER:
there's a BETTER TOMORROW,
JESUS is the ONE,
who will MAKE A WAY,
Turn your DARKENED NIGHTS,
into a BRIGHTER DAY,
Just live by HIS GRACE,
even with SKIES OF GRAY,
Just TRUST IN HIM and
CONTINUE to PRAY!!

Sadly not, I won't be here tomorrow,
I'll be somewhere else, someone else.
though I'm not talking about different life,
and I'm not talking about same old death.

I am talking about time that is timeless.
I am talking about placeless place.
About some kind of Hell-free Heaven,
some kind of greener grass Universe.

I'm not talking about having a choice,
or some signs of hope that'd be showing,
but about clocks like broken toys,
and maps like some nursery drawings.

I am packing my stuff - it's not easy:
been unpacking things my whole life.
Feels like turning the course of dry river,
or the blood painted hands of  time.

**** the happiness, **** the sorrow,
no more heartful and dreadful a-roving.
Blind man's shadow - my guide I will follow.
Only future me knows where I'm going.

If tomorrow starts without me,
Will my boys feel the void in the bathroom at 7:00
That used to be a song inside the shower?
Will the school guard miss greeting me back at 8:30am
“Good morning” in my own language?

If tomorrow starts without me,
Will the secretary look for me at 10:30
As parents report of me missing a meeting?
Will the server wait at the cafeteria at 12:30
but nobody shows up to order only half a portion of a meal?
Will students ask my colleagues at 14:00
whether I am sick or attending a conference?

If tomorrow starts without me,
Will neighbors notice that at 15:00
My bike still stands at the front garden?
Will the life guard at the pool notice at 18:00 that no swimmer is wearing blue green googles?
