I am an old soul
I never asked for explorers to progress
I never asked for inventors to invent
I never asked for science to discover or scholars to detect
I never asked to go from Steamers to engines
I never wanted to trade vinyl for headphones

But I’d always trade city lights for a mountain range
A worn out skyline for an open plane

Why do we complicate our lives in attempt to make them simple?
And why has living simply, become to most something trivial

I am raptured in this soul that refuses to age
In times that are always persistent to change

You are so beautiful you break my heart
Your eyes hold the secrets of the universe
Your hair glints with stolen rays of sunshine
Your arms strong and safe are my harbour

Soft and gentle your breath in the air
Caught there momentarily frozen
Before I draw it deep inside of me
Capturing that essence for my own

You go through your life with grace
Each movement a sweet tuneful note
Some short some long every one in time
A symphony created in life's rhythms

On your face my fingers trace my love
Leaving no mark there to be seen
But I know that each tiny caress
Will write my thoughts on your soul

There is no beginning there is no end
How can there be we are timeless
Taken out of the maelstrom of the world
To dwell forever in each other's hearts
For my children each one loved

Breathe, relax, slowing sinking beneath
the waves of fear and insecurity,
realizing the deeper you go under,
the safer you feel.

Just go with the current,
don't try to force it,
relax, and trust it...
Watch the beauty unfold.

As you dive deep down,
into a world unknown by many,
you discover possibilities,
you never sought possible.

The cold and warmth work in unison,
The beauty, and the beast, side by side,
into a world unlike no other,
Take a breath, dive deep down.

Watch as the bubbles ascend above your head,
letting all your worries go with it,
each breath, easing your mind,
and relaxing your body.

Only to emerge from the deep blue,
looking to land on one side,
and open, infinite possibilities on the other,
so much to explore, in so little time...

Deep down we dive,
searching and looking,
for new possibilities,
endless excitement for years to come.*

Dive Deep Down
Into The
Deep Blue

some poems
long to be gardens
or more likely lakes

enclosed and safe
ideal for thinking
suitable for letting go

where even silence
is guarded precious
embracing yet

leaving time out
somehow a small
palpitation held

between hands

Early morning anime,
Late night phone calls;

The touch of your voice in my ears,
The sound of you listening to me;

Timeless messages,
Occasional video chats;

The receipt of delightful what you doings,
The exchange of random rants;

Sleeping when the other sleeps,
Eating when the other eats;

Virtual hugs,
Imaginary kisses;

Long goodbyes,
Sad see you soons;

It’s love.

I'm beginning to believe
That happiness is just an illusion.
While in the moment you may smile,
When it fades, it leaves behind confusion.

Tell me, why do we blow bubbles
When they burst in seconds few?
You can't change the color of the sky, my dear.
It will always, always be blue.

And even while you're smiling,
There's this ever-rising flood.
Reminding you of your pain and despair
And that you'll always turn back to blood.

I'm hearing voices in my mind,
Replaying loved ones loving me.
But as I begin to find those thoughts,
They turn their backs and flee.

Why do we struggle at the top of the water?
Wouldn't it be easier to sink?
At least if the water consumes you,
Then you won't be forced to think.

On hieroglyphics and holograms,
Ancient runes in endless sands,
We're journeying in a timeless span,
Travellers in a great Southern land,
A distance past, times long gone,
Through the future we'll wander on,
To the world there is a helping hand,
We all come from migrants in our land,
A multicultural heritage, that's grand,
As Mum used to say, "Are you Irish or mad?"
A river of time floating by,
We're journeying in an endless sky,
Travellers in a timeless span,
Soon, hieroglyphics and holograms.
For a contest. Feedback welcome.

Tired
and bloated.
-filled
to the brim
with *******
that isn't
yours,
or theirs
-nobody's-
but
the patterns
that refuse
to cease.

point blank,
a tweaze,
small enough
for a
particle
you swore
to have seen
but didn't.
unravelling
thread on
pants, that,
at one time,
belonged to you.

pulling up
a shirt,
showing skin,
marked
with beauty
and growth
blue and pale,
shown to
everything,
but
the sun.

naked
in the
dark.

a brief
illumination
of life,
for a second
that is too
short
to be
a second,
leading
to a
momentary
darkness
that is
too long
to be
a moment.

Timeless
fragments
of life
splattered
across the
walls,
floor,
ceiling,
-non-representational-
like the
emotions
they once felt.

I find joy in our silence (because there is no tale to tell)
A story implies a beginning, a middle, an end
So forgive me if I am guarded,
I am afraid to start something (that I want to last forever)
Whisper me love
Sing me the words you cant speak
Lay with me, look to the stars (hold me until forever comes )
Feel this silence (don't try to fill it)
I hope it tickles your skin, reminding you softly of how I need you to stay
