Gamaliel Mar 2020
in your long absence,
soft rain watered the garden
growing in my heart -
it waits patiently for you;
my divine endless summer
Gamaliel Mar 2020
and in Your secret
and silent dwelling places,
love overwhelms me -
unfailing and unchanging,
deeper and deeper i fall

The trees and the earth
Both wear a scarlet gown
Tinged with tangerine
Never thought withering
Could be a time entrancing.
A tanka poem about autumn. :) Have a good read! :)

"Pretty girls don't smile!"
Those are the words of wisdom
fake soothsayers preached,
not thinking that she'd listen.
Alas... now she's cold as ice.

Second chances come
Only open to those who
Arriving slowly
Choose the feeling calling rays
Of sunlit memories felt
It's not that I am anti second chances. Or that I'm overly fond of myself being alone. No, that's not me. But I refuse to look back, because believe me, my mind has already traveled back there at least a thousand times.

My eyes need not see what I already know. Sorry.

Oh sweet Clementine!
Come out behind those two glens
Sky is your runway
Show us your golden ball gown
Luster, radiant and dazzling

Beauty has no rest
Darkness knows no lacklustre
Heavens change its robe
A black silk with silver beads
Which glimmers breathtakingly.
A couple of tanka poems about day & night. :)

Listening waters
Breathe and flow as breath being
Chest heaving under
Sound of streams and rocks smoothing
Over current ears which hear
Water Over Stones Smoothing (A Tanka)

Thunder strikes sudden
Blanking conscious volts and jolts
So fast that being
Fails to be aware of self
Old heartbeats stop as of now
These last 10 verses, mixed with tankas and haikus, were all from the same set. Written on the same day, at the same place, one year later. It seems to be a tradition that I always write a set of ten on that particular morning. LOL. Enjoy!

Presuming the best
Works best in those fields which feel
And believe in big
The kind of thing which makes trees
Grow and flow in fields of mind
Growing A Tanka - About finding those around you who will help you grow

Uncomfortable
Be it called by my own name
I must reply now
Not in haste or anger still
But in active truth most kind
A Tanka For How I Hope I'd Respond
