Trying it on first to see if it fits
Is probably the right way to go
And testing the waters an even better option
Sometimes love resides in the second wave
Watch the tide test the waves

I bite my lip
Until I bleed
To prevent my thoughts
From pouring out
Drowning you
Before we have a chance
To swim

Rosy mists breaks skies
Dawn is painting the new day
Periwinkles sway

Smooth, glassy ponds
Sunrise flares sweet spokes of light
Noble groves of trees

Koi fish glide smoothly
Glimmer through seaweed like pearls
Their eyes shine with joy

A tree dew drop falls
Kiss the pool and forms dimples
Near to far rose shades
Had a trip to a park today. For once, the sun was shining, the sky was clear and the breeze was perfect. I sat at the top of the hill, closed my eyes and just imagined a quiet place in mind. So here it is!

Been a while since I wrote a classic haiku.
This was so lucid, it's kinda scary. Man, I really AM getting better at this! ^-^
*Lyn pats herself on the back*
Thank God for zen music!
Hope you like it and feel as tranquil as I did.

Be back soon!

You told me you felt that our relationship was a pool.

That I have jumped into the deep end,
while you are still wading in the shallow end steps.
That you don't understand how I managed to get
myself into the deep end so quickly.

The thing about pools is this:

If you don't cannonball into the deep end,
you may never actually get in.
If you're standing at the shallow end,
the water could be too cold,
too hot,
too many leaves floating around,
too many bugs,
anything could convince you not to
fully submerge into the water.

If you cannonball in,
the hard part is over with.
You've dedicated all of yourself to the water;
mind, body, and soul.
There's no more second guessing.
There's no other excuse as to why you shouldn't swim.
There's no going back and that's ok,
because in all reality you wanted to swim.
You just needed to let go of the fear
that swimming will be too challenging.

Our relationship is like a pool.
I have dived in,
ready to fill this pool with love for you.
While you are still on the second step,
afraid of me.
Afraid that the love I give to you will be fleeting.
That I will leave you like everyone else has.
That my love for you is a joke,
that my love for you will never be enough.

I have a confession to make.
I have the same fears.
But I am still here,
in the deep end.
Waiting for you to look past your fears,
to accept them and dive head first anyway.
If you stand on the steps the whole time,
you will never swim.
You will never know the love I could give you.

Dive in baby.
I promise I'll catch you.
I am afraid that you'll never dive in  with me. That I will love you and you will never love me back.

Thank you mum
for our precious times
that were filled with so much fun
Our wonderful family holidays
Starting when we were very young
Waipatiki beach such a beautiful place
With the sun and the sea breeze on our face
Mum and Aunty in a caravan
us kids would pitch our tents
Chuck on our togs, grab a towel
off to the beach we went
Campsite was in a paddock
Adjacent to the beach
We had camp beds
so mattresses were off the ground
So for us the evening chill did not reach
Sometimes a friend was able to come
this would really add to the fun
Such a special place this was
where the river meets the ocean
Late at night as we lay in our tents
we'd listen to the waves motion
Time spent at the beach
searching for sea crustaceans
with mum and aunty
on our seaside family vacations
We'd swim in the River
swim in the Sea
Such wonderful memories these are for me
Had to rewrite.
Wonderful holidays with mum, Aunty Rose
our cousins my siblings and sometimes a friend. Fabulous memories x

Turquose water barely exists in my mind
I am only familiar with murky grey
With clouds of brown mud, the splash of friends.

The best time to go is always when the lake is deserted
Just loved ones and the empty cavity above the rippling surface
Fully free to laugh, shreik, and be a kid again.

No explanations for the shorts I wear over my swimsuit
Those are the moments we don't care if our hair gets wet and stringy
We stay in as long as possible, until lips turn blue and toes go numb.

Then we swim back, back to the shore and ***** feet
Huddled around a cold firepit, we beg for coals and heat
With none found we finally put on damp clothes, utterly exhausted.

No amount of food is ever enough so like scavenging dogs we hunt
With vicious fingers and starving hands
Until every last crumb in the potato chip bag is consumed.

Those are the days I want to remember
That blissful feeling, the absence of the weight of the world
The days when the swim back is always farther.
This is an ode to my childhood summers

Darling,
aren't we tired,
swimming each other sorrow?
Let's sleep side by side
and feel the tears on our pillow.
